Chapter 45 would be boring to talk about any further.

When it comes to sharp tongue, Tang Qi is the best at using the most indifferent tone to hurt people's hearts. It can be said that Meng Wan's sharp tongue is inseparable from Tang Qi's influence.

"You deliberately provoked Tang Zhiyi to hate me. You're indulging in some damned, perverse pleasure again?"

"I'll be going back to China in six months, so I'm giving you a little appetizer in case you've had too much fun these past two years and forget to sharpen your claws."

"Then I wish you a safe journey."

"Thanks." The two said to each other, neither giving an inch. Although they were both smiling and their tone was extremely calm, it gave off a chilling feeling.

Just as she was about to say something, the sound of a small food cart approached. The waiter, with his back to her, placed the dishes from the cart on the table.

"Sir, Madam, these are the dishes you ordered."

The voice sounded somewhat familiar, and Meng Wan looked up in surprise.

"Big brother, what are you doing here?"

The waiter who heard the voice was also taken aback. He looked at Meng Wan with a somewhat surprised expression, but still held the plate of food steadily in his hands.

"Wanwan?"

"Shouldn't you be at the law firm at a time like this?" Qin Yi had said before that, apart from regular classes and sleeping, Meng Zhiyuan spent almost all his time at the law firm where he was interning, so he almost never went home, even on weekends.

Meng Zhiyuan twitched the corners of his mouth, not daring to look at Meng Wan, and lowered his head to arrange the dishes.

"The law firm... hasn't been busy lately, so I came out to see if there are any part-time jobs available."

Meng Wan nodded; she would be a fool to believe Meng Zhiyuan's nonsense. Nevertheless, she didn't expose him.

"Oh! Let me introduce you, Tang Qi." This introduction was as perfunctory as could be, yet Tang Qi still smiled.

"I know the eldest son of the Tang family."

The two were the same age, and when their families were of similar strength, they were often compared. However, since the decline of the Meng family, people have naturally forgotten that there was once an outstanding young master of the Meng family.

"Let's go home together after get off work." Meng Wan's use of the word "after get off work" only proves that she was speaking to Meng Zhiyuan.

Meng Zhiyuan concealed the surprise in his eyes and nodded.

"Okay, I'll go get busy now."

Meng Wan smiled and nodded, not interfering with Meng Zhiyuan's work. Only after Meng Zhiyuan pushed the food cart away did Tang Qi speak softly.

"Calling me 'Big Brother' sounds quite natural, doesn't it?" Tang Qi's smile was perfectly standard, yet it inexplicably made people feel that he was being sarcastic.

"Of course, after all, they're family." Meng Wan didn't hold back; she followed the other party's attitude when they came to her door, the kind of person who becomes stronger when faced with a challenge.

We've had enough of the roasting, but the conversation has to continue.

"Now that you're back, you're going to start taking over the Tang family business, right?" Meng Wan suddenly asked, looking at the silver light reflecting off the knife.

"What, trying to give your boyfriend a heads-up?"

“Yes, it would be quite interesting to bring you down.” Meng Wan’s undisguised words pleased Tang Qi.

"You really won't come back with me? Are you reluctant to leave your boyfriend? Or are you reluctant to leave your older brothers?"

"Hey." Meng Wan glanced at him. "It'll be boring if we keep talking."

Tang Qi tilted his head and said no more. The steak in his hand had been cut at some point and placed in front of Meng Wan.

"Didn't Mr. Tang arrange some return gifts for you?"

Does being set up on a blind date count?

Meng Wan raised an eyebrow. "That does suit Mr. Tang's personality."

"Aren't you glad you escaped the Tang family?"

"Knowing this, you still dragged me back. Is being inhuman your life principle?"

The conversation ended, and Tang Qi got up and went to the restroom. Meng Wan was happy to be alone and ate heartily. Although Tang Qi was a bit of a jerk, he had a good eye for food; there were no bad choices, and every dish was just to her liking.

But perhaps because Qin Yi's cooking skills were so good, Meng Wan actually felt that although the dishes here tasted good, they couldn't compare to Qin Yi's.

"Sir, Madam, I'm sorry, the restaurant has been booked out by another gentleman today, and since you didn't make a reservation in advance, you can't enter."

"Darling, didn't you say we could go in?" The woman clung to Li Qingshan, her voice sweet and coquettish, giving him goosebumps, yet strangely appealing to men.

"Of course you can go in." The man's sausage-thick lips pressed directly against the woman's cheek, but his expression suddenly changed when he looked at the waiter.

"Reservations required for entry? What rubbish! Private screening? It's just a matter of money! Tell them to get out, I'll pay double!"

"Excuse me, sir." The waiter bowed slightly, but the man felt humiliated, which was unacceptable to his extremely chauvinistic nature.

"Do you know who I am? Do you know who my dad is?! You think I can just make sure your shop goes out of business?!"

The most important thing about a Western restaurant is its atmosphere, and clearly, that atmosphere was ruined. But Meng Wan didn't care, continuing to enjoy the dishes. She frowned and put down her spoon.

She raised her hand, and a waiter immediately came over.

"Miss, how can I help you?"

"This is overcooked; the meat has become tough and lost its original freshness."

"We are very sorry for the unpleasant dining experience. We will replace your meal with a new one right away. Is that alright?"

Meng Wan nodded, which attracted the attention of the noisy man outside. Li Qingshan pushed the waiter aside; the man was fat and strong, and the waiter fell to the ground. The others rushed to help him up.

Hearing the commotion, Meng Zhiyuan immediately stepped forward, but was stopped by Meng Wan's gesture. Seeing this, Meng Zhili could only turn around and go to the warehouse to find the manager in charge of inventory.

"Oh, isn't this Miss Tang? Oh dear, look at me, I've got it wrong. The real Miss Tang is in the Tang family, not some imposter like you who's taken over."
