"Yan Nian".
Hearing the sound, Yan Nian finally looked up.
"Wanwan, breakfast."
Every day before training, Yan Nian would bring breakfast and wait for her downstairs at the dormitory.
"I'll pick you up for dinner tonight."
Because of military training, the two haven't eaten together for half a month, and their meetings are always rushed.
"Okay." Meng Wan took the breakfast and waved goodbye to him.
Although Meng Wan is going to pursue two degrees, she will have to wait until her second year of university. Therefore, the two of them are destined not to be in the same classroom during this year, unless it is during elective courses.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, let's go."
"Having a boyfriend is so great," Guo Qingqing said, her voice full of envy.
"It's really good." Meng Wan readily agreed.
The group chatted and laughed as they walked further and further away, until Yan Nian finally left down another path.
He carried his schoolbag and walked towards the classroom. He had just sat down when someone took the seat next to him.
Yan Nian ignored him and took out the book on his own.
"What a coincidence, Yan Nian."
Hu Lou smiled and greeted Yan Nian.
Yan Nian glanced at his seat. It was still early before class started, and the classroom was quite empty. Hu Lou had deliberately sat next to him, making it hard not to suspect his intentions.
"It doesn't seem like a very coincidental thing." Yan Nian said bluntly, but Hu Lou seemed not to understand, and his expression didn't change at all.
"Why are you so wary of me? You are the president of the Yan Group, while I am just a powerless heir. If you wanted to crush me, wouldn't it be as easy as crushing an ant?"
Yan Nian's eyes darkened as he glanced at Hu Lou.
The latter immediately raised both hands, "It was just a joke, Mr. Yan, don't get so agitated, I'm scared."
He said he was scared, but he was clearly laughing.
"I think it would be better for the Hu family heir to change positions. If I want to be disliked, I don't mind having tea with Old Master Hu."
Yan Nian remained calm and spoke indifferently, while Hu Lou's expression changed slightly.
He gritted his teeth, maintaining the stiff smile on his lips.
"Then I won't bother you any longer."
As he spoke, he picked up his backpack and sat down in the front row on the other side.
Yan Nian didn't even glance at him, continuing with his own business. Hu Lou also didn't turn around, his hand gripping the pen as if he wanted to crush it.
Fortunately, Hu Lou didn't cause any more trouble that day.
"I always felt there was something wrong with Hu Lou." Meng Wan also felt that Hu Lou's behavior was a bit strange.
Logically speaking, they weren't familiar with this Hu Lou, and Hu Lou had never met them before. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say they kept to themselves. Yet, he kept coming to them to make his presence known, which made it hard not to suspect that he had ulterior motives.
"We'll deal with whatever comes our way. He's not making any moves right now, so let's just let him be and see how much trouble he can cause."
As he spoke, he placed the last shrimp of the year into Meng Wan's bowl.
Would you like some more?
Meng Wan shook her head, finished the last shrimp, and wiped her mouth.
As luck would have it, while I was paying the bill, I ran into an old friend I hadn't seen in a long time.
"Tang Zhiyi? When did she return to China?" Meng Wan came down from the second floor and was stunned when she saw Tang Zhiyi.
Aside from being somewhat surprised to see her suddenly, I was more concerned about how incredibly thin she had become. Although she tried her best to use makeup to make herself look healthier, her figure was still undeniable.
The veins on her arms were bulging, her chin was very sharp, and her cheeks were sunken. Her face, which was originally quite pretty, now had a more mean and acerbic look.
"They must have just returned; I haven't received any news either."
Yan Nian glanced at her and then looked away, leading Meng Wan downstairs.
Meng Wan frowned, but didn't linger. He was just an insignificant person, not worth her time.
"So you're the eldest daughter of the Tang family?" The other person thought he looked handsome as he combed his precariously messy hair, but his eyes revealed an undisguised lewdness.
"Yes!" Tang Zhiyi was still the same Tang Zhiyi, arrogant and haughty, with undisguised disdain on her face, clearly showing how much she hated the fat, greasy man in front of her.
She took a tissue and held it to her nose, as if the other person's every word would pollute the air around her.
"Order whatever you want, I'll pack it for you."
The other person had a gold chain around their neck and exuded the air of a nouveau riche.
"I'll take care of it..." The other person's words left Tang Zhiyi speechless and made her look down on the man in front of her even more.
She couldn't sit still any longer and picked up her bag to leave.
"Have you thought this through? If I'm unhappy, the Tang family is finished, Miss Tang." The fat man didn't care about Tang Zhiyi's attitude at all. Seeing that she was about to leave, he didn't move an inch. He raised his eyelids slightly, but because of the fat on his face, you could hardly see his eyes.
Tang Zhiyi gritted her teeth and sat down angrily.
Tang Sheng said that if anyone dared to upset this fatso, he would cut off his credit card and kick him out.
The original card has already been limited. It's easy to go from frugality to extravagance, but difficult to go from extravagance to frugality. This little bit of money is already making her very upset. If it gets cut off again, she won't even be able to afford that thing!
"Order." The fat man became even more smug as he watched her sit down.
He tossed the menu over.
Tang Zhiyi was unhappy with his actions, but she could only endure it. However, the next second, she suddenly stood up.
The sudden movement startled those around them.
"what you do!"
As soon as the fat man finished speaking, Tang Zhiyi ran out without even taking her bag.
"Come back here!" The fat man saw that the duck he was about to eat had run away, so he didn't care about anything else and followed after it.
However, his belly was too big, making him clumsy, and he was out of breath after only a few steps.
"You, you just wait!" he shouted, but Tang Zhiyi seemed not to hear him and ran out on her own.
The surrounding laughter reached the fat man's ears. His face turned red, and he slammed the door open and walked out.
Having a meal and watching a good show at the same time, Meng Wan raised an eyebrow, thinking it wasn't a bad deal.
Let's go.
After paying the bill, Yan Nian came over and naturally took Meng Wan's hand.
The latter nodded and followed him out. It's unclear whether she and Tang Zhiyi were truly destined for each other, but just around the corner, they bumped into several more of the main characters.
At this moment, Tang Zhiyi was holding Hu Lou's hand, preventing him from leaving.
"Hu Lou, why won't you answer my calls? Why won't you contact me? Do you know how much I've suffered waiting for you?!"
Passersby pointed and whispered, but Tang Zhiyi didn't care at all.
Hu Lou seemed to have never expected to run into Tang Zhiyi, and the smile on his lips froze.
"Do you know Hu Lou?" my roommate asked.
"I don't know her, miss, you've mistaken me for someone else." Hu Lou pushed Tang Zhiyi's hand away, but Tang Zhiyi was holding it so tightly that he couldn't move it for a moment.
"Impossible! I'd recognize you even if you were reduced to ashes! Why did you return to the country alone without telling me? Were you seduced by some other vixen?"
Tang Zhiyi's voice was somewhat shrill, and coupled with her current appearance, she looked like a madwoman.
