As Tang Zhiyi was lost in her daydream, the door was suddenly pushed open. The two of them were startled and instinctively looked towards the door.
“Meng Wan, Lan Xing?” Sun Lu stood up and looked at the two of them.
"Meng Wan! What are you doing here?" Tang Zhiyi asked warily.
Meng Wan didn't speak, but Lan Xing walked over directly. She raised her hand, and Tang Zhiyi subconsciously shrank her neck. Lan Xing chuckled and put her arm around Sun Lu's neck.
"What do you want to do? This is a hospital." Sun Lu swallowed.
"Don't be nervous, let's go outside and talk?" Although he was asking, he didn't wait for Sun Lu's consent before putting his arm around her and walking outside.
Sun Lu looked at Tang Zhiyi, who opened her mouth, but Lan Xing gave her a look and she immediately shut up.
Lan Xing curled her lips into a sneer, her eyes full of disdain. Sun Lu had no choice but to obediently follow her out.
The door closed again, leaving only Meng Wan and Tang Zhiyi in the large ward. Meng Wan didn't rush to speak, but instead sat in the chair Sun Lu had been sitting in, crossed her legs, and her nonchalant expression inexplicably made everyone's hearts clench.
Tang Zhiyi stared intently at her, clenching her teeth, her hands unconsciously gripping the blanket, her face full of defensiveness.
"what you up to?"
"You injured yourself, didn't you?" Meng Wan was too lazy to beat around the bush with her.
Upon hearing this, Tang Zhiyi calmed down. She sat up straight, all traces of her previous fear gone.
"I thought it was something else! You're here to shut me up because you're afraid that your instigation of Tang Li to push me down the stairs will be exposed, right? Meng Wan, how could you be so vicious! You actually instigated a seven-year-old child to harm someone! This is murder!"
Tang Zhiyi read it aloud word by word, as if she wanted to confirm Meng Wan's guilt.
Meng Wan immediately understood Tang Zhiyi's intention, but remained calm and showed no sign of panic.
"Then tell me, when did I instigate Tang Li, how did I get him to push you down the stairs, and how did you know I instigated him?"
The three consecutive rhetorical questions left Tang Zhiyi speechless.
Just as Tang Li couldn't clearly explain that he didn't push her downstairs, she also couldn't prove that Meng Wan instigated Tang Li.
An eye for an eye is Meng Wan's guiding principle. Rather than struggling to prove her own innocence, she prefers to let the other party prove their innocence.
"Tang Zhiyi, I'm quite curious, when did you find out you were a child of the Tang family? You timed it very well, returning to the Tang family when the Meng family was completely bankrupt."
Meng Wan raised an eyebrow, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly.
"Take a guess? You're just unlucky. You missed out on the good times with the Meng family, and you weren't lucky enough to benefit from the good times with the Tang family either."
Tang Zhiyi's smug look did not stir up any emotions in Meng Wan.
“Tang Zhiyi, I have no interest in playing the real and fake heiress game with you, but if you keep challenging my bottom line…” Meng Wan stood up and suddenly leaned closer to her.
Before Tang Zhiyi could dodge, Meng Wan pressed down on the back of her head with such force that Tang Zhiyi couldn't break free. Their noses were touching, and they could even feel each other's warm breath.
"...I don't mind playing around with you, as long as you can bear the consequences."
She lowered her voice, which sounded like tentacles reaching out from hell, instantly sending a chill down Tang Zhiyi's spine.
"What...what do you mean?"
“From today onwards, everything you did to Meng Zhiyao will be returned to you in revenge.”
Tang Zhiyi's neck stiffened, and her pupils contracted slightly.
What did Meng Zhiyao say to you?
Before Meng Wan could even speak, she quickly calmed down and adopted a disdainful expression.
"He's just a mute idiot, it's not like I harmed him. Are you trying to frame me just by opening and closing your mouth?"
Upon hearing her words, Meng Wan's gaze grew even colder.
"Then you'd better hold onto your position as the eldest daughter of the Tang family. If Tang Li loses even a single hair in the Tang family, I'll pluck ten from your head. If Tang Li is unwell, you won't have an easy time either. I, Meng Wan, mean what I say."
As she spoke, Meng Wan hooked her hair with her finger and tugged it slightly, her words carrying a strong sense of threat.
Meng Wan's voice was like a devil's whisper, sending chills down Tang Zhiyi's spine. For some reason, she felt inexplicably panicked.
Tang Zhiyi's lips trembled slightly. Meng Wan noticed this, curled her lips, and released her.
Standing upright, her school uniform accentuated her elegance and beauty. Her chin was slightly raised, exuding the haughtiness of a queen surveying the world.
"Miss Tang, from now on, I, Meng Wan, will play with you."
"Meng Wan, I won't lose! I'm the eldest daughter of the Tang family, and all the wealth and glory are mine. I won't lose!"
The door opened, and Tang Zhiyi's voice came out, sharp and piercing. Lan Xing and Sun Lu looked over at the same time.
"Finished talking?" Lan Xing raised an eyebrow and released Sun Lu.
Meng Wan nodded, closed the door, and shut out Tang Zhiyi's voice. Her face showed no emotion, but Lan Xing knew she was angry.
"I'm going to beat her up." Lan Xing was about to go in without saying a word, but Meng Wan stopped him.
She shook her head, and Lan Xing obediently stopped. She pouted, unable to vent her dissatisfaction, and could only glare at Sun Lu. To her, the two were birds of a feather, treacherous foes, utterly worthless.
"Let's go." Meng Wan didn't even glance at Sun Lu, and walked out with her arm around Lan Xing's shoulder. Sun Lu stared at their backs until they disappeared around the corner before she came back to her senses.
She took a deep breath, pushed open the door, and ran inside.
"Zhiyi, are you alright?" Sun Lu asked with concern.
