Chapter 311 Plague Town

The sky was gloomy, and there were dark clouds all over the sky, which seemed like they would fall at any moment.

Plague Town.

Plague Town was formerly called Rogue Town. It has a population of five to six thousand people. There are a large number of villages and large tracts of farmland nearby. Because of its developed agriculture, it is located in a remote area, but it is also a very happy country town.

But now this town is called Plague Town, and there are basically no living people in the surrounding villages. An evil wizard attacked the major villages with plague, turning the villages into ghost dens.

Some villagers survived, but they also brought the virus to Plague Town. So the normal townspeople in Plague Town were also infected, but this plague was not fatal. It only made the people in the town fall into despair, and fear because of despair. Fear and despair intertwined to form a kind of power.

This kind of power is often favored by evil wizards.

Inside the town, desperate and frightened people were waiting for death.

"It's going to rain soon. If it were last year, I would have gone to the fields to check and dig some ditches to prevent the ditches from draining in time if it rained too hard."

A middle-aged man was lying on the street, staring blankly at the sky.

The middle-aged man was very capable, with muscles all over his body and calluses on his hands. From his tone, one could tell that he was a strong farmer who had worked hard for many years.

He is still strong, but the spirit has been lost in his eyes, and his body is covered with white spots, which look scary.

The plague made him a little weak, but it would not damage his body. However, his spirit would be very tired, just like a person who stayed up late, who would still feel tired even if he got enough sleep during the day.

Now he doesn't want to move.

"Don't think about farmland. We are going to die soon." There were many people lying on the street like the middle-aged man, one of the farmers said.

His symptoms were exactly the same as the previous one.

Death is not scary, what is scary is waiting for death.

Just like a sentenced death row prisoner, he will only feel relieved and refreshed when his head is chopped off.

The rest of the time, I just wander between despair and fear.

All the brave people in the town died in various ways: some died by hitting their heads against the walls and pillars, some jumped from the city walls with their heads down, and some used the simplest method, hanging themselves.

The rest of the people are those who do not have the courage to commit suicide but have to wait for death to come.

"I heard that the evil wizard will send his ghouls to attack us when we are most desperate and fearful, to eat our flesh and blood, and to gnaw on our souls, making his ghouls more powerful."

The first farmer said.

"It's really scary to think about it. My body, which is already unable to move, can't help but want to get up and run away. But before that moment comes, I still don't want to die. Suicide is really terrible."

The second farmer said.

"Yeah, before death actually comes, I don't want to die either."

The first farmer said.

"In fact, we may not die. Aren't there still the Cheetah Knights in the town? They promised to protect us when the evil wizards attack."

The third farmer said.

"Although knights are powerful, wizards are often more powerful than knights. Especially evil wizards, plague, ghouls, and even undead, they have too many methods. And there are too few knights in the town now."

The first farmer said.

"But it is undeniable that the knights' presence gives us hope. If they were not here, we would only be more desperate."

The third farmer said.

Mr. Elsie is one of the few nobles in the town. He owns a villa with several male and female servants serving him.

He also has a beautiful wife and a son who is just over a year old.

A totally happy family.

But now.

In the restaurant on the first floor of the villa, the maids prepared lunch, which consisted of steak and bread. The strictly trained maids' hands were shaking as they carried the plates.

Mr. Elsie was sitting at the dining table. He looked at the panicked maids, especially the white spots on their faces, and felt disgusted and frightened.

But he did not rebuke the maids, for Mr. Elsie was a gentle aristocrat.

He knew that it was good enough that the maids didn't go crazy or become mentally ill.

"Where's the lady? Why hasn't she come yet?" Mr. Elsie asked with a frown.

The maids were obviously distracted, and after a while one of them replied, "Madam said she has a poor appetite and doesn't want to eat."

"I know the fear and despair of facing death, but if I don't eat, I will starve to death. If I die now, I may miss out on hope."

Mr. Elsie said.

"Sir, do we still have hope?" a maid couldn't help crying.

"I don't know, but I hope so," said Mr. Elsie, after a pause.

He pushed his chair aside and stood up, then walked to the bedroom on the second floor. The door was closed, and Mr. Elsie knocked on it, but there was no response.

Mr. Elsie's face changed drastically and he kicked the door open.

In the bedroom, a beautiful lady, who was extremely disgusting because of the white spots on her face, was holding a pillow and trying to smother her child.

"What are you doing?" Mr. Elsie hurried over and snatched the pillow from his wife's hand, allowing his son below to cry.

Mr. Elsie's wife covered her face with her hands and cried, "I really can't bear to see him being eaten by the ghouls, so I want to kill him first and then commit suicide. Then you can burn our bodies to ashes."

Mr. Elsie looked at his crying wife and suddenly calmed down. He sighed, hugged his wife and said, "Please believe me, we will get through this."

After a pause, Mr. Elsie said, "If we can't survive, I will kill my son first, and then you, and then I will kill myself. I won't let the ghouls eat us while we are alive, and I won't let you see the ghouls eat our son."

Mr. Elsie's wife calmed down a little, but her eyes were still full of tears and her shoulders were heaving.

Mr. Elsie said a few more words to comfort his wife, and then took her downstairs to have lunch.

After watching his wife eat lunch, Mr. Elsie sent her upstairs to bed and sent a maid to watch her to prevent her from doing anything stupid.

"Evil wizard, I will not give up hope."

Mr. Elsie returned to the dining room, sat down, clasped his hands, but there was great fear in his eyes.

He was actually just pretending to be nice in front of his family.

Death, fear, despair, and hope. The town is full of such people.
