Chapter 3 Jade Bracelet

"Qingqing, remember what I said. I have lost my memory and can't remember anything. Do you remember it?" Zong Zheng Xiaoting ordered hurriedly.

Sure enough, Qingqing nodded solemnly and helped Zongzheng Xiaoting lean against the edge of the bed.

Zong Zheng Xiaoting was satisfied. She was indeed a smart little girl.

"Ting'er, you're finally awake." The lifelike phoenix on the bright yellow palace dress revealed the identity of the visitor. The joy on his wealthy face was beyond words.

Zong Zheng Xiaoting shrank timidly, hugging the quilt and asking, "Who... are you?"

Zong Zheng Xiaoting looked innocent, her beautiful eyes moving restlessly back and forth between the Empress and Concubine Li.

Concubine Li's original nervousness was replaced by a calm smile. Although it flashed by quickly, it was seen by Zong Zheng Xiaoting. It turned out that it was Concubine Li who killed the unlucky princess. She looked scared, which meant that the unlucky princess should not be someone who could be trampled on by others.

Concubine Li then changed her expression to one of worry and turned to look at Qingqing, "What happened to the Second Princess?"

Following Concubine Li's questioning, Qingqing knelt down hurriedly, "To answer your Majesty, Concubine Li, I don't know either. When the princess woke up, she seemed to remember nothing. I had to persuade her in every possible way before she calmed down."

Qingqing's words made the Queen frown, "Ping'er, call the Imperial Physician!"

"Yes!" The palace maid beside the empress bowed respectfully and then retreated. Zong Zheng Xiaoting was happy to play dumb and sat on the bed.

The queen leaned against the bed lovingly and stretched out her hand to Zongzheng Xiaoting, "Ting'er, don't be afraid. Mother is here. Everything will be fine."

Zong Zheng Xiaoting looked at the outstretched hand cautiously. After hesitating for a long time, he finally stretched out his own hand and placed it on the empress's hand. "Are you my mother?"

Hearing this, the queen was startled and gently patted Zong Zheng Xiaoting's hand, "Strictly speaking, I am your aunt."

"Then what should I call you?" Zong Zheng Xiaoting asked with his head tilted.

"This is the imperial palace, and I am your mother, do you understand?" The queen patiently explained to Zongzheng Xiaoting, but the sadness in her eyes became more and more intense.

Zong Zheng Xiaoting nodded, not quite understanding.

At this moment, Concubine Li, who had been silent all this time, also smiled and said, "Second Princess, do you remember me?"

Zong Zheng Xiaoting blinked and shrank back in fear, "Are you a bad guy?"

The smile froze on Concubine Li's face. "How could I be a bad person? Second Princess, have you forgotten that you love sticking to me the most?"

Zong Zheng Xiaoting looked at the Queen and Qingqing, only to see them both nodded at the same time.

Zong Zheng Xiaoting thought to himself, it seems that Concubine Li is two-faced.

"Good person? Do you love me very much?" Zong Zheng Xiaoting looked at Concubine Li with pretended innocence.

"Of course. Your mother Li always agrees to Ting'er's requests. She loves you even more than your mother does." The queen smiled and touched Zongzheng Xiaoting's hair.

Zong Zheng Xiaoting smiled brilliantly, "Will you give me lots and lots of treasures?"

"Of course. As long as the Second Princess likes it, Concubine Li will give it to her." Concubine Li smiled gently.

"Really?" Zong Zheng Xiaoting put on a smile on his face and looked at Concubine Li with shining eyes.

"It must be true." Concubine Li said dotingly.

"Will you also give me Concubine Li's beautiful bracelet?" Zong Zheng Xiaoting's gaze fell on the jade bracelet on Concubine Li's left wrist, with a look of anticipation on his face.

Zong Zheng Xiaoting's words made the Queen frown slightly. She turned to look at Concubine Li, who was nervously touching the white jade bracelet on her wrist. "I remember that this white jade bracelet was given to you by Concubine Rou Gui in order to give you a shock."

The Queen paused and said sarcastically, "Now that Ting'er is frightened, this jade bracelet is not bad. However, Ting'er has lost his memory and his words are just a joke. Please don't be offended, sister. I will ask someone to get some frightening items for Ting'er later. Please don't be embarrassed, sister."

Upon hearing this, Concubine Li withdrew her hand, and clenched it tightly in her sleeve. Wasn't the Queen's words a clear sign that she was stepping down? She doted on Princess Xiaoting in public, and if she was unwilling to give up even this jade bracelet, who knows how it would spread in the harem.

After calculating the jade bracelet obtained by Concubine Rou Gui, she was still forced to hand it over. No matter how unwilling she was, she had no choice but to do so.

Concubine Li lowered her eyes, suppressed her anger, and quickly put on a smile, approaching the edge of Zongzheng Xiaoting's bed, "What are you talking about, Her Majesty? As long as the Second Princess is well, these are nothing."

Zong Zheng Xiaoting's eyebrows moved. It seemed that the jade bracelet was safely in his pocket!

Sure enough, Concubine Li took off the jade bracelet reluctantly and put it into Zong Zheng Xiaoting's hand steadily.

Zong Zheng Xiaoting smiled with his eyes crooked, "Mother Li, you are so kind!"

Pretending to be innocent, Zong Zheng Xiaoting presented the treasure to the empress, "Mother, does it look good on me?"

On the slender wrist, the white jade bracelet dangled in front of Concubine Li and the Queen. The Queen smiled more and more, "It looks good. As expected, this thing should be returned to its original owner in the end."

A malicious look fell on Concubine Li.

At this moment, a bright yellow figure came hurriedly like the wind, followed by a large group of imperial doctors.
