Chapter 261 Seven Months Vacation
Living in Junting again, Zhou Yunjie stood in the familiar room, looking at the familiar night view outside the window, but his heart was in turmoil.
That night, Shen Zhiyu said he was afraid that she would need him for something in the middle of the night, so he insisted on sleeping in the master bedroom.
Seeing the temptation flashing across his eyes, Zhou Yunjie shook his head, "No, I can do it myself."
She didn't want him to see anything.
Shen Zhiyu looked at her silently for a moment, and seeing her firm attitude, he turned around and left the bedroom helplessly.
Zhou Yunjie just let out a sigh of relief when he heard the bedroom door open. Then Shen Zhiyu came back with two quilts in his arms, "I'll sleep on the floor."
On the ground?
Zhou Yunjie frowned. They had known each other for so long, and when had he ever wronged him? Now he had to sleep on the floor.
She didn't know whether he did it on purpose or was really worried about her. The words she wanted to stop him got stuck in her throat and she swallowed them slowly.
The night passed peacefully. When Zhou Yunjie woke up in the morning, he sat up almost subconsciously and saw that the quilt beside his bed had been folded up.
She got out of bed and walked out. The second floor was quiet. She went down the stairs. There was no one in the living room, but there were some subtle noises coming from the kitchen.
Zhou Yunjie walked over, a little surprised, "Sister Ying?"
Hearing the sound, Sister Ying turned around and saw Zhou Yunjie standing there in thin pajamas. She quickly put down the pot lid and walked towards the living room, her tone filled with a bit of heartache and blame, "Oh, Yunjie, you have to pay attention now. If you don't take good care of your health, it will affect your whole life."
As he spoke, he had already taken the thin blanket from the sofa and draped it over Zhou Yunjie. "Go and rest on the sofa. The soup will be ready soon. I'll use this chicken soup to make you some dragon beard noodles."
Zhou Yunjie stood still, his eyes fixed on Sister Ying's busy figure. After a moment's hesitation, he whispered, "Sister Ying, was he the one who asked you to come over?"
Sister Ying sighed, paused her movements, and nodded, "Yes, she rushed to Chen Garden to pick me up early this morning."
"Auntie Narong?"
"There are nannies and housekeepers over there to take care of the madam. It's okay." Sister Ying supported Zhou Yunjie as they walked towards the sofa, saying gently, "As for you, there's no one here to take care of you."
What Zhou Yunjie actually wanted to ask was not whether Rong An Ning took care of her, but whether Rong An Ning also knew that she had undergone surgery.
But on second thought, since Shen Zhiyu specially brought Sister Ying here, Rong Anning may have already known about it.
Zhou Yunjie felt an indescribable sense of guilt when she thought about having deceived Rong Anning once again. She lowered her eyelashes and clenched the thin blanket tightly with her fingers.
After having breakfast under Sister Ying's supervision, Zhou Yunjie was forced to drink a bowl of soup before being allowed to return to her room upstairs.
Halfway through, she received a call from the hotel asking her about the marketing plan. She then remembered to ask about her vacation, and she didn't know how long Shen Zhiyu had asked for her leave.
She called Qi Xiuping, and her heart ached after hearing the answer on the phone.
"How long did you say?"
Qi Xiuping replied calmly, "Seven months!"
"Seven months?" Zhou Yunjie almost couldn't hold the phone steady, and his voice rose unconsciously.
"Yes, that's right."
Hearing the affirmative answer, Zhou Yunjie took a deep breath and tried hard to suppress his anger, "Then will I get paid for these seven months?"
"Only basic salary and insurance." Qi Xiuping replied.
Zhou Yunjie hung up the phone, furious.
