Chapter 222 White Town Base Map

Chapter 222 White Town Base Map

I was lying on a hospital bed in the infirmary when a nurse wearing a mask came up to me.

"Sister, is there anything I can help you with?"

The nurse, wearing a mask, examined me while asking me questions.

I pretended not to understand and continued lying in bed.

I always felt that those people had a continuous supply of food, and there might be a mole within the base.

I don't know if the nurse was testing me, so I didn't answer her.

After a while, Taozi came in. He nodded to the nurse, who then pulled the curtain over my bed and turned to leave.

"Is this nurse one of ours?"

I asked.

Taozi nodded: "Yes."

"Ugh, I thought he was an undercover agent. These past few days, everyone seems like a bad guy to me."

I breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed on the bed.

"You pretended to be sick to get me to come over, what did you want to say, sis?"

Taozi sat on a small stool in front of the hospital bed and asked me.

"When it's time to get food at 10 o'clock, let the person serving the food accidentally drop their spoon on the ground, get it dirty, and then stir it in the pot."

"Huh? You want them all?"

"We need them all. Let them think of a way to get the spoons all dirty and stir them into the pot."

Seeing my determined look, Taozi nodded, but his eyes were full of doubt.

I quickly explained to him in simple terms: "There are people distributing food in the refugee camp. They ate half full in the morning, so they shouldn't eat anything too dirty. Write down the food they can't eat later."

Taozi gave a thumbs-up as if suddenly realizing something: "Smart, sis!"

I was reluctant to get out of the soft hospital bed. After a day and a night of being rubbed, I was so tired.

Life is tough for refugees.

"I should go back now; it's almost time for dinner. I'll go check on things myself."

I didn't let Taozi see me off; I walked quickly back to the refugee area by myself.

Yu Zi let me through as soon as I returned. Not far from the entrance, Sister Xiuqin and Xiaoting were standing there looking out.

Both of them were delighted to see me return.

"Are you alright? That's great. We couldn't find you earlier, and we found out you went to the infirmary after asking around."

Sister Xiuqin held my hand tightly, and was relieved to see that I was walking normally.

I laughed and said, "I'm sorry to have worried you. Let's go line up for food."

There was already a long queue at the food distribution point.

The four large pots used for distributing meals were originally empty; the food was brought over from the cafeteria.

Liu Ersao and Wang Sao poured bowls of food into a large iron pot, and as they poured, they started arguing.

There was a hint that they were about to make a move.

Then the bowl containing the food was tilted slightly, and the vegetables spilled out.

Two other unfamiliar people came up to mediate the fight, and after a long time, they finally managed to calm the two down.

Seeing the wasted vegetables on the ground, the four people picked up spoons, scooped up the vegetables, and poured them back into the vegetable basin.

Both vegetable bowls were filled with a lot of vegetables that were covered in soil and sand.

That's really clever; it's much more natural than the method I came up with.

The crowd reacted differently when they saw the vegetables, which were standing on the ground, being put into the pot.

Most of them were complaining about getting the food dirty, but some extremely hungry people said it would be a waste not to serve it.

Bowls of food were served to everyone, and people squatted in the corner to eat.

I subtly looked around and observed, and saw a few men in the corner who had just taken a sip of porridge and then spat it out.

"Pah, damn it, it's all sand!"

After he finished cursing, he threw the bowl on the ground, and the rice porridge inside was barely touched.

The four people in the corner barely ate anything, turned around and left, without even taking away their bowls.

Seeing the four people leave, the refugees nearby picked up the rice porridge on the ground and scrambled to drink it.

I looked up at Taozi, and we made eye contact. It seemed he had noticed too.

When it was almost my turn, Taozi walked over to Liu Ersao's side.

When Sister Liu was serving me rice, I said, "Put all four cabbage leaves in the bowl."

Then I looked at Taozi, and Taozi nodded knowingly.

I forced myself to swallow the sand in my mouth and gulped down the porridge. Then I followed Sister Xiuqin and Xiaoting back to that disgusting place.

Not long after I got back, I heard screams like a pig being slaughtered coming from outside.

"Aaaaaah! What are you doing! Don't grab me!"

"Let go! Let go! Isn't your base supposed to be for rescuing people?! You're going to kill people! You're going to kill people!"

Various screams rose and fell, but subsided within three to five minutes.

The three women inside, who had been sitting there chatting and laughing, immediately changed their expressions upon hearing the commotion outside.

"Sister Bai, what should we do?"

Hong asked her nervously.

"What does it have to do with us? It's just like how many meals of dry rations we get."

Sister Bai's expression wasn't good, but she still stubbornly answered.

"What if he leaks the fact that we drew the map of the White Town base? What will happen to us...?"

Before Hong could finish speaking, Bai Jie interrupted her sharply: "Shut up! You idiot!"

Hong realized she had let something slip and quickly covered her mouth, glancing at us furtively.

It turns out that the reason these people were able to receive free rations was to have them draw a map of the Baizhen base from their memories, so that a complete map of the Baizhen base could be created.

It's a pretty simple matter, and that's probably it. Several other bases or bandit hideouts are trying to wipe out the Baizhen base in one fell swoop.

Those who received rations were just helping to sell off the Baizhen base in exchange for some food.

I quickly grasped the situation before me, and that annoying Red spoke again.

Perhaps to regain her composure after letting something slip earlier, she said to me in a condescending tone, "Go get some water and wash our feet."

I've finally figured out this whole mess, so I don't need to pretend to be afraid of them anymore.

I looked at her with a cold laugh: "Are you out of your mind? Don't you have hands? You want me to wash your feet?"

Hong didn't expect my reaction. She was stunned for a moment, then stood up and said, "Hey, you bitch, who gave you the guts to talk to me like that?"

"Taozi!"

I shouted, and the door creaked open from the outside.

Taozi walked in, followed by several burly men.

Just as Sister Bai was about to stand up and get to work, she saw Taozi, the person in charge, come in, and silently sat back down.

Do you think I'm stupid? If I go against them, I'll only get beaten up.

They clearly have powerful backers, why don't they bring it up? With several burly men around, bullying a few women would be a piece of cake.

"Sister, do you need my help?"

Taozi smiled brightly, looking like he was in a good mood.

Perhaps it was because I helped him catch the traitor, or perhaps it was simply because I needed his help.

The three-person group suddenly turned pale. When they saw Taozi call me "sister," they knew that my identity was not simple.

I raised an eyebrow: "Tie up all three of them."

Taozi waved his hand, and several burly men stepped forward to tie up the man.
