Chapter 45 Japanese BBQ

Chapter 45 Japanese BBQ

The next day, after waking up, I would, as usual, first heat up the kang (heated brick bed) and the stove, and then feed the chicks.

Then start preparing the ingredients for the barbecue.

Cut half a pound of Angus beef and half a pound of beef ribs.

Marinate five chicken wings with Orleans seasoning.

The Angus beef was marinated with seasonings brought back from a Japanese restaurant.

Then slice the potatoes, and serve a small plate of hot pot meatballs and bacon.

Pick larger lettuce leaves from the vegetable bowl, slice garlic, and cut scallions into sections.

Prepare lettuce dressing, barbecue seasoning, and dried chili peppers.

After preparing the ingredients, start preparing the barbecue.

Since there are no other suitable containers, we will use the barbecue grill directly.

Pour the charcoal directly into the barbecue grill and place the woven meat rack from yesterday on top.

After lighting the charcoal fire, we moved the homemade tree stump stools and the kang table.

Place the kang table next to the barbecue grill, and put the prepared ingredients, seasonings, and tableware on the kang table.

To my left front is a kang table, and to my right front is a barbecue grill.

The next delicious Japanese BBQ meal is about to begin.

First, brush oil onto the grill rack.

Then use tongs to pick up a slice of marinated Angus beef and place it on the grill.

A slight sizzling sound and a wisp of oil smoke drifted out.

Angus beef slices are shown on a grill rack, basting as they are grilled over high heat.

As the beef slices began to shrink, I flipped them over with tongs, and there was another sizzle, accompanied by a little bit of oil smoke.

Suddenly, the whole room was filled with the aroma of roast beef, and I could even hear the dog scratching frantically at the bedroom door.

The sliced beef that had been flipped over was no longer bright red, but a pale pink, the color of mature beef, with brown grill marks on it.

It looks so delicious!

Once the other side of the beef was cooked, I couldn't wait to pick up a piece of grilled meat.

Angus beef has a rich, creamy fat that shrinks slightly after being grilled, and the caramelized fat has a milky aroma.

I don't need any seasoning; I just put it directly into my mouth.

High-quality Angus beef has a melt-in-your-mouth texture and can even taste slightly sweet.

Chew slowly until you swallow, and you'll savor the rich aroma of the beef fat.

I grilled and savored each slice one by one, and ate seven or eight slices of Angus beef before I finally satisfied my craving.

Then I prepared to eat some roast beef with dipping sauce.

Half of them got beef ribs, and the other half got Angus beef.

The Angus beef slices are thinly cut, and because they are mostly fat, they cook faster.

Beef ribs are thin and long, so they cook a little slower.

So I flipped the beef ribs while putting the cooked Angus beef into my bowl.

I have all sorts of ways to eat grilled meat.

You can eat it directly with barbecue sauce, or roll it up with a slice of garlic.

Or you can wrap lettuce dressing, scallions, garlic slices, and beef together and eat it in one big bite.

Each one was delicious in its own way, and I thoroughly enjoyed eating them, even feeling like dancing with joy.

I don't know how long it's been since I've had such delicious beef.

I'm already starting to worry that once we finish these dozens of kilograms of top-quality beef, we'll never be able to eat it again.

However, if you eat sparingly, you can still enjoy this beef for a long time. Put aside your worries and fully enjoy your life of fatty beef.

Pick up a grilled beef rib and stuff it directly into your mouth without any seasoning.

The beef ribs were chewy, but because I grilled them very tender, they weren't completely inedible.

Beef ribs are quite lean, and every bite is full of lean beef. The more you chew, the more fragrant they become. The unique texture of beef ribs is very satisfying.

After getting tired of eating it plain, people started adding garlic cloves, barbecue seasoning, or wrapping it in lettuce, among other ways.

Without realizing it, I consumed half a pound of beef ribs and half a pound of Anxie beef.

Of course, I left a few pieces for the dog to enjoy later.

Then, using the greasy grill, they started baking potato meatballs and bacon.

At this point, they went to the back room and found two scallion pancakes.

Once the potatoes and bacon are cooked, put them all on a plate.

Then place the two scallion pancakes on the grill and bake them over the remaining charcoal.

While grilling hand-pulled pancakes, they also ate grilled potatoes, grilled hot pot meatballs, and other dishes.

By the time the two scallion pancakes were cooked, about half of the food on the plate had already been eaten.

Then spread lettuce sauce on the scallion pancake, sprinkle some barbecue seasoning, and add dried chili peppers, scallions, garlic slices, lettuce, and potato and bacon hot pot meatballs.

Then, using a scallion pancake, I rolled everything up, creating a large pancake about the thickness of an arm.

Is this the legendary pancake wrap that supposedly wraps everything?

I looked at the large burrito in my hand and laughed heartily twice.

Then it opened its mouth wide and bit down hard.

One word: awesome! Two words: exhilarating! Three words: fantastic!

There is nothing in the world that tastes better than this pancake.

The crispy on the outside and soft on the inside scallion pancake, paired with soft and glutinous potatoes and caramelized hot pot meatballs and bacon, is simply amazing.

Moreover, there's a luxurious fresh vegetable like lettuce to cut through the richness, making this the perfect wrap that only a perfect life can afford.

I was so overwhelmed by the aroma of the giant burrito that I could barely speak, and could only take bite after bite, swallowing and chewing.

I finished the whole big wrap in no time.

The intense feeling of fullness forced me to regain my senses.

The remaining scallion pancake and some hot pot meatballs cannot be eaten; eating more will cause indigestion.

So I started making a delicious lunch for the dog.

Tear the scallion pancake into small pieces, then put the hot pot meatballs, bacon, and beef into the bowl with the pancake and mix them together.

After mixing well, release the two hungry wolf-like puppies.

They charged headlong into the barbecue grill.

They looked like they were about to tip the barbecue grill over, so I yelled at them loudly to stop them.

"Little melon! Stop!! Right here!!"

The two puppies braked suddenly and came to a stop just in front of the barbecue grill.

I put the bowl on the ground and tapped it.

They immediately understood and rushed to me. Without exchanging many pleasantries, they buried themselves in their work of grilling the meat.

It seems they were really tempted by the smell of the barbecue while I was eating it.

They didn't even bother to smell what was in their bowls before they started eating with gusto.

Not to brag, but whoever works with me will become plump and strong.

Who could afford such good food in the apocalypse?

I think my family is the only one like this.

As I indulged in my narcissistic thoughts, I began to clean up the mess left by the barbecue.

First, use a steel wool pad to scrub the barbecue grill. It's so hard to make sure it's clean so you can use it again next time.

Then pour the remaining charcoal into the stove and put the barbecue grill back in its original position.

Then I started washing the pots and pans.

After I finished everything, I took a nice hot shower.

Barbecue is satisfying, but being covered in oily smoke can be really greasy.

After showering, with her hair down, she slipped into the warm bed.

Reading a pre-downloaded novel in bed while listening to soothing music is pure bliss.

That's great! It's wonderful to be able to live comfortably on your own with enough supplies.

After a sigh, I drifted off into a sweet dream.
