Chapter 70 The Big Dog

Chapter 70 The Big Dog

The big dog didn't know what I was going to do, and stared at me blankly.

I was startled by its eyes; this dog looked just like a villain in a TV drama.

Not wanting to be alone with it, I quickly went out and brought the two puppies in. Little Di and Little Gua followed me in.

The entire floor of the darkroom was suddenly packed with people.

The small space was able to accommodate nine dogs and one adult.

The four puppies were crawling around, observing the new big dog and the two puppies.

Xiao Di looked at the injured big dog with concern, while Xiao Gua ran around excitedly.

The big dog lay on a bed made of two cotton pads joined together, while the two puppies burrowed all over the big dog.

The scene before me was so chaotic it gave me a headache. I put my hands on my hips and looked around.

First, chase my little brother, Xiaogua, and the four puppies out of the dark room. It's not hot outside now, so let them go out and make a ruckus.

Then I quickly grabbed some water and went to feed the big dog.

I dripped water to the dog's mouth, and it struggled to lift its neck to drink.

He drank the entire bowl of water down to the very bottom.

It seems it's too hot outside, and with the big dog injured, it must have been without water for a long time.

If it can drink water, it must be able to eat food too.

I took the eggs out of the refrigerator; these are the ones I cooked and put in the fridge for the dogs as a snack.

There were only four in total. They were all peeled and taken into the dark room.

Break it into small pieces and place them near the dog's mouth; the big dog opens its mouth and eats them all.

He ate all four eggs, and when he saw that I had no more, he gently lay his head down.

Seeing that those two heartless puppies were still drinking milk, I quickly prepared some formula.

Once it's no longer hot, I pick them up and feed them milk, just like I did when they were little.

I still have the feel for feeding the little potatoes and melons, so I'm very skilled at it.

The two puppies were really hungry; they looked to be only about ten days old. They drank a whole bowl of milk in one go.

One of them even vomited through its nose because it was too much. I was careless; I hadn't breastfed in a long time and still couldn't control it.

When the big dog saw me feeding the puppy milk little by little, its eyes were no longer empty, and it was no longer wary.

Tears welled up in her eyes, and she looked at me with a human-like gaze.

That look in his eyes was one of gratitude, of being moved, or perhaps of finally being redeemed and feeling relieved after surviving a catastrophe.

Its head drooped limply on the cotton pad, and it just stared at me.

I was slightly stunned by its gaze, and suddenly a word came to mind: a sense of destiny.

Perhaps this is fate. Since I encountered it and saved it, I must ensure its survival and treat it as well as a small melon.

After feeding the two dogs, the two puppies stopped nursing from their mother and fell asleep nestled in the big dog's arms.

I began to examine the dog's leg injuries, and only then did I realize that it wasn't just one leg that was injured.

There were so many wounds, it was shocking, extending from the lower back all the way to the legs.

It felt like something was constricting my lower back, digging deep into my flesh and bones.

The wounds on its two legs were likely caused by the large dog struggling violently, with something resembling a wire pulling from its waist down to its hind legs, creating numerous ring-shaped wounds.

Judging from the rings of wounds, it must have struggled for a long time.

The thing that was holding it back moved back a bit, it rested for a while, and then continued to struggle.

It wasn't until the back of the thighs, where the skin thinned, that it completely broke free.

Looking at these wounds, I couldn't help but feel a lump in my throat, and tears streamed down my face.

If it weren't for its two babies waiting for it to come home to nurse, it would have given up struggling and died there long ago in such a tight snare.

That long drag mark on the ground must be from when it desperately clung to the ground, dragging its hind legs along, to get back.

The large pool of blood on the ground could not have been all of its blood; its blood was lost on its way back to find its child.

My heart ached so much that my fingers trembled. Seeing the big dog suffering so much, I even hated myself for hesitating to save it.

After carefully examining the wound, I immediately went to get the necessary medications.

Iodine solution, cotton swabs, amoxicillin, and oral anti-inflammatory medication for dogs.

First, use scissors to gently trim the long hair from the lower back to the thighs.

Then, the dog used a cotton swab dipped in iodine to clean the wound. The dog shuddered violently when the swab touched the wound.

But it kept its eyes closed and remained motionless, perhaps it understood that I was healing its wounds.

I used iodine solution to carefully wipe both legs twice.

The wound looks fresh, otherwise it would have festered and smelled bad long ago at this temperature.

Then pour the amoxicillin capsule out and apply it little by little to the wound.

The wound seemed to hurt more when the medicine was applied. The big dog kept its eyes tightly closed, and its breathing became heavier and heavier.

"Almost there, almost done."

I kept moving my hands while gently soothing it.

The white powder came into contact with the wound and quickly absorbed the red secretions, causing the wound to dry.

This is a good thing; it should be very effective.

After applying the medicine to the dog, gently wrap it with a layer of gauze.

I don't plan to wrap the wound with too many layers of gauze, because I'm afraid the wound won't breathe properly and the weather is hot, which could cause it to rot and get infected, making the situation even worse.

The two puppies were about to be separated from their mother, and I was worried that their nudging would worsen the mother dog's wound.

Place a soft cotton pad in a cardboard box, put the puppy inside, and place it close to the adult dog.

Perhaps because it ate the eggs, it has regained some strength, and the big dog is lifting its head more easily than before.

Looking up, I saw the two puppies sleeping soundly in the box, right next to me. Feeling at ease, I closed my eyes and lay down to rest as well.

The little melon was getting impatient waiting outside. It wanted to come in and join the fun but couldn't get in, so it started howling like a wolf.

The barking made the big dog lift its eyelids and look outside.

I rushed out the door and slapped the dog twice on the head, which immediately shut the dog's mouth.

The dog's wound has been treated, but the vegetable garden hasn't been watered yet.

I took a deep breath, pulled the cart, and continued to the vegetable garden with the little melons and hampers.

By the time everything is finished, it will be dawn.

After returning home, I was worried that the little melon and the four dogs would disturb the big dog's recovery, so I let them live in the basement.

What a coincidence! We had just finished setting up their doghouse in the basement when a patient came to stay upstairs.

However, Little Di and Little Gua are quite happy with their comfortable life, with a spacious basement and an oversized dog bed.

Plus, without me controlling them so they had to go to sleep, the dogs were super excited.

I can't get excited. My body is tired, my mind is exhausted, and I don't want to move at all while lying in bed.

The thought of having to raise nine dogs in the future makes me feel like I'm going to collapse.

I fell asleep without realizing it.

In my dream, nine dogs had puppies, and I have a huge dog pack.

Every day I have to cook a lot of food to feed the dogs. As soon as I shout "Dinner's ready!" the dogs run from all directions of the mountains to my yard.

Dogs kept running into my yard, eventually flooding it...
