Xu Neng led Wang Feifei deep into the cave. In her previous life, this was an undeveloped cave, and she had never been here before.
The entrance is meticulously designed and very well hidden; you won't notice the passageway inside unless you look closely. But once inside, you'll find a completely different world.
Not only is the lighting as bright as day, but it is also filled with various green plants, making you feel like you are in a courtyard at first glance.
But why does it look so familiar?
Xu Neng led Wang Feifei on a stroll through the courtyard, wandering among the pavilions and waterside terraces.
“When we went to the private restaurant last time, I saw that you really liked the courtyard, so I moved it here exactly as it was.”
Wang Feifei then realized that the layout here was very similar to that of a restaurant. A few steps further ahead was the entrance door, which was a large floor-to-ceiling glass door.
You can enjoy the view of the courtyard from the living room.
Xu Neng took a small box out of his pocket, and when he opened it, several fireflies flew out and disappeared into the grass in the blink of an eye.
Perhaps the light was too bright, for they all hurriedly hid.
He wants to create a sea of fireflies here; Feifei would definitely love it.
Xu Neng pushed open the door and led Wang Feifei inside.
After taking off my shoes in the entryway, I discovered that the entire floor was covered with solid wood flooring, which felt warm and comfortable underfoot.
The overall impression is that the renovation is not yet complete; it's empty with very few pieces of furniture.
"It was too rushed today, and many things aren't ready yet. They should be in place by tomorrow. Let's just make do tonight," Xu Neng said with a hint of apology in his voice.
"It's alright, this place is already very good. If we hadn't been being chased earlier, we wouldn't have come here on short notice. No one can find this place; it's actually the best place to stay away from the world."
"Xu Neng, do you have any wound medicine? I'll disinfect and apply it for you now." Wang Feifei was very concerned about his injury.
Although Xu Neng's expression showed no change, his speech was much faster than usual, and he couldn't hide his joy:
"Wait a moment, I'll go get it. Oh, by the way, the bathroom and toilet are available. You can go take a shower first, I'll bring my pajamas over."
"No, you're still injured. I'll go get these things."
"If you don't know where it is, I'll go there."
Xu pushed Wang Feifei into the bathroom and left in a hurry.
Perhaps because the journey was quite long, Xu Neng had not yet returned after Wang Feifei finished showering, and since she had no change of clothes, she could only wrap herself in a bathrobe for the time being.
As soon as I stepped out of the restroom, I felt a chill. The temperature difference between the inside and outside of the cave was quite significant; it was truly warm in winter and cool in summer.
Fortunately, Xu Neng returned quickly, carrying a quilt, blankets, clothes, and a first-aid kit.
Upon entering, Xu Neng was stunned to see Wang Feifei wearing only a bathrobe. He immediately looked away, his heart pounding.
He found a clean spot, laid the quilt down, and gently wrapped Wang Feifei in a thick blanket, rubbing her shoulders with his hands.
"I didn't expect it to be a bit slow. Is it cold?"
"It's alright, let me apply the medicine for you now."
"Then I'll take a shower first."
Xu Neng grabbed a bathrobe and was about to go to the bathroom.
Wang Feifei reached out from under the blanket and grabbed Xu Neng's hand:
"Wait, you should avoid getting the knife wound on your back wet, otherwise it will easily become infected."
Xu Neng turned around, his eyes were wet, and he pretended to be pitiful, saying:
"I exercised a lot today, and I feel sticky all over. Would you like to help me wash up?"
"no!"
Sensing the slightly dangerous atmosphere, Wang Feifei quickly refused, then, still a little uneasy, added:
"The other parts... can get wet... you can wash them yourself, I'll wipe your back for you."
Xu Neng's eyebrows curved into a beautiful smile: "Okay, I'll call you in a bit."
Only when she heard the sound of water running from the bathroom did Wang Feifei feel relieved and quickly find her pajamas.
But the pajamas Xu Neng brought had a skirt that barely covered his buttocks, and the light green silk... was just too... transparent...
She hesitated for a long time but still didn't change into it, remaining wrapped in her bathrobe.
Suddenly the sound of water in the bathroom stopped, and Xu Neng's voice came through. Wang Feifei nervously picked up the first-aid kit and pushed the door open.
In the steamy bathroom, Xu Neng, wearing only a towel around his waist, stood in the shower area waiting for her.
Her thick, black hair had just been washed and was dripping wet. A few stray strands of hair fell across her forehead, covering her sharp eyebrows and making her look more gentle.
The towel around his abdomen was tied very low, and Wang Feifei blushed instantly, but when she saw the injury on his back, her heart clenched.
There were far more knife wounds than I had imagined. Although they weren't as deep as the wounds from my previous life, they were long and dense.
"How come you have so many injuries?" Wang Feifei's voice was full of heartache.
"A lot? I didn't pay much attention."
Xu Neng's eyes were glued to her, oblivious to everything else.
Wang Feifei dipped a cotton swab in the medicine and gently applied it to the wound while blowing on it.
The back was covered with crisscrossing wounds, about eight or nine in total. Two or three of them were particularly long, more than thirty centimeters. At the intersections of the knife wounds, white flesh could be seen turned outwards...
When the cotton swab touched the wound, blood mixed with medicine slid down my back and onto the bath towel.
In no time, the bath towel turned pink.
This familiar scene instantly transported Wang Feifei back to her past life, when she too was covered in wounds…
They tried again, but still couldn't escape it.
It must hurt a lot, Wang Feifei thought, tears welling up in her eyes.
My gaze swept over my injured waist and chest, where the skin was smooth and without a single scar. But my back was covered with so many hideous wounds.
Wang Feifei felt pain just from applying the medicine, but Xu Neng didn't utter a sound...
