Chapter 3 Making Money

With her round belly full, Wang Feifei slowly strolled home, enjoying the warmth of the sweat she had accumulated along the way.

It was already 12:30 when she got home. There was still half an hour until the appointed time. Wang Feifei nestled on the sofa, with the fan and air conditioner turned off. Fine beads of sweat were seeping from every pore.

This was a long-awaited happiness for her...

Agent Xiao Liu arrived on time with his clients. Of the originally planned six people, four showed up. The two who were absent were turned down by Xiao Liu because they couldn't pay in full.

The bidding process went smoothly, with the house exceeding the expected price by one million, and it was eventually sold for 16 million.

The buyer was a portly fifty-year-old man. He made a grand entrance and immediately raised the price by 1 million, leaving the other three stunned and causing them to give up.

Wang Feifei was curious about who he was, but a few flattering words from Xiao Liu made him introduce himself:

"I'm quite well-known in the real estate investment circle of City A. I've handled nearly fifty houses, so I have that much money!"

He spoke animatedly about his glorious achievements over the past few years, how he made tens of millions of dollars by reselling real estate with minimal effort.

“I’ve been staking out this neighborhood for almost a year now. Locations like this are only going to become more and more scarce. My judgment won’t be wrong!”

Only then did Wang Feifei realize that he was a professional real estate speculator.

She couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Indeed, it was probably the best outcome that he bought the house, because when the extreme cold of the apocalypse came, the height of the third floor could be submerged by just one week of continuous blizzards.

If a property speculator buys the house, it will most likely remain vacant, thus sparing innocent people from suffering.

It's a pity, though. Originally, Wang Feifei planned that after selling the house, Chu Xiang would be homeless when the natural disaster struck.

Nowadays, the houses are bought by speculators. They only want the property certificate and are not very interested in the house itself. After buying one house, they are busy buying the next one. It is hard to say when they will take possession of the house.

With only a month left before the natural disaster, Chu Xiang will most likely be able to stay.

However, on second thought, having Chu Xiang under his surveillance might not be a bad thing. At least "the enemy is in the open while I am in the dark," allowing for flexible responses.

When natural disasters strike, whether one ends up homeless or not, the final outcome is pretty much the same. Besides, he still has his "white moonlight" (ideal love) to turn to...

This property speculator was indeed very experienced; the entire transaction went smoothly, and the payment was made promptly.

Wang Feifei clutched her heart as she watched her bank account balance grow from over 4 million to 20 million.

With this large sum of money, we can finally move on to the next step of our plan!

After seeing the buyer off, Wang Feifei pulled Xiao Liu aside:

"I need your help with something, and the benefits will be plentiful."

After saying that, Wang Feifei gave Xiao Liu a large red envelope containing 10,000 yuan as a reward for his hard work in selling the house, as a token of her sincerity.

Judging from the process of selling the house, Xiao Liu is efficient and reliable. She needs a reliable person to help her find the safest "post-apocalyptic safe house".

Xiao Liu was so happy to receive the red envelope that he couldn't stop smiling:

"Miss Wang, I've finally met my lucky star! Please tell me what you need, and I'll do my best to help you within my capabilities!"

Wang Feifei poured him a glass of water and invited him to sit down:

"I need you to help me find a place to live."

"That's easy. I can't speak for other things, but you've come to the right person when it comes to finding a house. I've been working in this industry for over a decade, and there's no house I can't find."

"May I ask what requirements Miss Wang has for this house?" After saying that, Xiao Liu took out a small notebook and pen from his pocket.

After thinking for a while, Wang Feifei came up with several conditions:

First, the house must be located in the suburbs, the farther away from the city center the better, and the lower the price per unit area the better;

Second, the larger the area, the better. It must be on the top floor, a duplex structure, and must have a very large terrace.

Third, the total height of the building should be higher than 18 floors, the higher the better, preferably the tallest building in the vicinity;

Fourth, the fewer residents the better; I like quiet and don't want to be disturbed.

Fifth, the developer must be a well-known brand, the construction must be standardized, and the quality must be good enough.

After saying that, he refilled Xiao Liu's cup with tea and quietly observed him.

Xiao Liu closed the notebook, frowned, and said, "The request is indeed not simple. Give me a day, and I will give you an answer tomorrow!"

Xiao Liu seemed to have guessed Wang Feifei's thoughts and didn't ask any further questions.

Wang Feifei was puzzled; how could he not be curious about such an unusual requirement for buying a house? She couldn't help but scrutinize him more closely.

Xiao Liu gives the overall impression of being shrewd and capable, with a neatly combed slicked-back hairstyle, a well-fitting suit, and high-end leather shoes.

Especially his eyes; the eyes behind the gold-rimmed glasses are sometimes sincere, and sometimes unfathomable.

This person is definitely not an ordinary person...

After they finished talking, Wang Feifei saw Xiao Liu to the door and said politely, "Anyway, I'm leaving this matter to you. The sooner the better. I'll give you a big red envelope after it's done."

Xiao Liu nodded: "Miss Wang, you're too kind. I'll take care of this!"

After seeing the agent off, Wang Feifei breathed a sigh of relief. Her next step was to resign from the company.

Working is out of the question. I can't waste my precious time making money for the boss. I need to focus all my remaining time on building a safe house!

Now she is incredibly grateful that after they started living together, Chu Xiang took the initiative to switch jobs to another company, where there was less work, less money, and less pressure, allowing her to start living a retirement life ahead of time.

Since they weren't in the same company, Chu Xiang couldn't find out anything about her movements, and he wasn't afraid of being exposed if she resigned.

The next step is to target Chu Xiang.

What goes around comes around, so let's start by paying back the money...
