Chapter 35 Visiting the Prison

Xu Neng and his lawyer waited in the detention center's visiting room for visitation rights to be granted. He was wise to bring his lawyer, as it was much faster. After only ten minutes, a staff member led him into the visiting room.

Xu Neng felt a little uneasy during the short journey of just over a hundred meters. Apart from seeing Xu Hui from afar during the court hearing, they had not seen each other for many years.

He didn't know what approach would be the safest way to meet them.

One thing at a time. This time, I only helped Xu Hui because of blood ties, but that doesn't mean the brothers' relationship will change because of it.

After this is over, it's best to maintain the original relationship and have no further involvement!

Soon Xu Neng saw Xu Hui in the reception room; this was the first time they had met up close in fifteen years.

The last time they met was at Harvard, where Xu Hui approached him hoping to make contact with the university president. At that time, Xu Hui was just an ordinary employee in the company, full of ambition and high spirits.

But now, the years have left their mark on my face and body...

Xu Hui, however, showed his experienced side when facing his younger brother. Seeing that Xu Neng did not speak, he took the initiative to thank his brother for his help.

When this "famous lawyer" first approached him, he knew it was Xu Neng who had made the move. He had considered hiring a top lawyer, but the situation was urgent and caught him off guard.

During the trial, Xu Neng's three methods impressed him greatly!

It's easy for him to find a "loyal servant" in the company to provide an alibi; he could easily bribe the victim's family to testify against him. He had already guessed that.

However, seeing a man who looked exactly like him in court really frightened Xu Hui.

Looking at his handsome and extraordinary younger brother, he felt even more that his methods were truly ruthless, like "hitting the snake at its vital spot" and "hitting the flesh with every punch"!

Fortunately, they were family; if they were enemies, I would have been devoured, leaving not even bones behind...

Having lived in the United States for many years, Xu Neng had no habit of formalities and went straight to the heart of the matter:

"Have you offended anyone recently? I spotted a suspicious person at the court hearing. I'm here to ask you if you can think of anything."

"A suspicious person?" Xu Hui was a little surprised. Yes, the person behind the scenes would definitely be at the scene. He quickly asked, "Did you see this person's face?"

Xu Neng pushed up his glasses: "No, he's disguised very well, you can't even tell his gender. Who do you think he could be?"

Xu Hui fell into thought. He had been in the business world for so many years and had offended countless people, but it seemed unlikely that he would be killed because of an old grudge.

The only things he went too far were instructing the driver to cause an accident that killed the Wang family couple, and his absurd behavior of toying with girls over the past few years.

But given Wang Feifei's romantic nature and her trust in herself, it's impossible for her to know the truth about what happened back then, let alone know what she did at the hotel.

The only possibility is that one of these girls is plotting a trap...

Thinking of this, Xu Hui said to Xu Neng, "Could it be that the girl's family or friends set this up in secret? I've thought about it, and it seems that no one else has such a ruthless motive."

Xu Neng stared intently at Xu Hui, as if he could see right through him. Xu Hui felt a chill run down his spine; he was indeed quite afraid of this younger brother.

Xu Neng said coldly, "Are you sure there's no one else? Our opponent is no simple matter. In the days since the incident, apart from the suspicious person we saw on the day of the trial, we've found almost no useful clues."

Xu Hui wanted to tell Wang Feifei what she had said, but reason told him that it was better to avoid trouble, as it involved suspected murder!

Besides, Xu Neng and I don't have any feelings for each other. What if it's not Wang Feifei? Wouldn't that be just exposing my fatal weakness for nothing? There's no need to expose myself!

He watched Wang Feifei grow up, and he knew very well how cunning and capable she was. If she were really that amazing, she wouldn't have been fooled by Chu Xiang for so many years. It definitely wasn't her!

After thinking it over, Xu Hui met Xu Neng's gaze and said definitively, "Besides the victim, I can't think of anyone else who could do such a thing. That's for sure!"

Xu Neng appeared calm on the surface, but was actually at a loss inside.

His intuition told him that things weren't as simple as they seemed, and there must be something he didn't know...

Shortly after Xu Neng and the lawyer left, Sister Fang arrived at the prison with some clothes and food. Her purpose was to persuade her husband to expose President Xu.

Following the procedure, she met her husband behind the glass viewing window. He would be released from prison in a few months, and this was the first time she had visited him.

In an effort to gain favor, he brought some clean clothes and food.

Her husband behind the glass window looked much older than she remembered; he was practically an old man. Fang Jie's expression of disgust was about to show, but she forcibly suppressed it.

"You still know to come see me! After all these years, you still know you have a husband?" the man said angrily.

Seeing what his wife was holding, he seemed to guess what had happened and said dismissively:

"Don't think I don't know what you're up to! Explain yourself clearly, have you spent all the money?!"

Sister Fang looked at him with a wronged expression: "Aren't you about to be released from prison? I brought you something."

After saying that, she took out her phone and pointed to the girl's photo:

"Look, the child is so big now. It's so hard for me to raise the child alone. You have no idea how much I've suffered outside! Waaah... Waaah..."

As she spoke, Fang Jie wiped away her tears.

The man didn't even glance at her; his eyes were fixed on the photo of his daughter on his phone.

When I left, my daughter was only six or seven years old. Now she has grown into a pretty young lady, and she looks a lot like me.

A hint of tenderness appeared in his expression, which Fang Jie noticed. She wiped away the tears on her face and said in a choked voice:
