The heartache outweighed the stomachache. Chu Xiang slapped himself hard. He had actually let Wang Feifei accompany other men for money. He was a beast.
Having experienced humiliation today, he dared not imagine how Wang Feifei would feel after learning the truth.
Thinking of this, Chu Xiang felt even more sorry for Wang Feifei; he understood her revenge against him.
"Everything I have is what I deserve."
He hugged the pillow that Wang Feifei had bought for him, and cried uncontrollably...
Downstairs, Pan Xin walked and cried, covering her face which had been slapped red, heartbroken to the extreme.
She was in such a hurry that she only had a nightgown under her coat and wasn't even wearing underwear. She looked so disheveled. Worried that passersby would notice, she held onto her coat tightly.
She walked alone, hugging herself. The sun was setting, and it was so cold.
These past few days, Chu Xiang has been like a different person, constantly cursing and hitting people; I really can't stand being with him for even a day.
Just then, her phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number. Pan Xin picked up the phone with trembling hands.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Pan Xin? I'm the police officer who handled your boyfriend's case before."
"I called several times this afternoon, but I couldn't get through. Do you have some time these next couple of days? Bring him over so we can close the case."
Upon hearing this, Pan Xin couldn't help but cry, a wave of grievance washing over her.
Xu Hui was completely out of luck, and Chu Xiang was acting the same way. Then, her childhood crush, Xu Huan, suddenly called, causing her to break down emotionally.
Xu Huan was completely dumbfounded when he heard her crying. What was going on? He asked her boyfriend to close the case, so why was she crying so miserably?
"Xu Huan! The boss has a message!" Xu Huan heard his colleague calling him and quickly ended the call.
"Ms. Pan, I have something to attend to. I'll contact you when I have time," Xu Huan said, and then hurriedly hung up the phone.
"The boss just said the suspect's movements have changed, tonight's mission is canceled," his colleague said to Xu Huan with a smile.
"Who were you calling just now? I could hear a little girl crying! You've really managed to find a happy ending!"
"The task is canceled now, you can arrange your own time!" a colleague joked.
Xu Huan thought about how the girl on the phone was crying so sadly. She had confessed her feelings to him before, but he hadn't been interested in her back then. Now he felt a little guilty.
Well, I have nothing to do after get off work anyway, so I might as well go check it out. Maybe I can help...
