Chapter 56 Xu Huan Becomes Suspicious

Wang Feifei spent the whole morning finally completing the stockpile list.

This time she added various snacks and instant noodles, as well as pre-made dishes, hot pot, spicy stir-fry ingredients, etc...

With these, even if it's freezing cold outside, you can enjoy delicious food from all over the country at home. It sounds wonderful!

Most importantly, these kinds of foods can be stored at room temperature, so stock up early for peace of mind.

Today, Wang Feifei plans to visit the largest food wholesale market. If she finds something fresh and reasonably priced, she will buy it directly.

She wrote down a list by hand, grabbed her bag, and went out.

The car was parked outside the main gate of the community, and she still had to walk a short distance. As she was walking, a large dog suddenly pounced on her, its huge face almost touching her. She was startled.

The dog owner walked over from a distance, calling out to stop the dog as he went. Only then did Wang Feifei realize that it was a Rottweiler that was half a meter tall.

"Walking such a large dog without a leash? This is the East District, could it be that new neighbor?" Wang Feifei thought to herself.

She guessed correctly; the man who came was the middle-aged man from her new neighbor's house. Fortunately, she had seen his posts on social media beforehand, and Wang Feifei recognized him at a glance.

The man was wearing a polo shirt, trousers, and sneakers. He had a decent appearance and looked to be in his thirties.

He has a very strong upper body, and judging from his physique, he is the type who works out regularly.

He saw that his dog was still excited, and ran after him, shouting, "William, stop! Stop!"

The dog quickly ran over and, this time, obeyed, calmed down, and stood beside its owner.

His eyes lit up when he saw Wang Feifei in front of him; he never expected there to be a beautiful woman in this run-down place.

He quickly extended his hand to shake hands: "Hello neighbor, I'm sorry, the dog bumped into you just now."

Wang Feifei didn't reach out, but coldly said:

"It's alright, but next time please use a leash. There are quite a few children in this neighborhood."

Just as she was about to leave, Wang Feifei's wrist was grabbed by him. A feeling of disgust quickly spread through her, and she hurriedly pulled her hand away, glaring at him angrily.

The man wasn't annoyed at all; instead, he smiled and said, "Miss, what's your name? I'm so sorry about what happened today. I apologize and promise to keep a leash from now on."

"Do you live in this building? Can we add each other on WeChat?" The man hurriedly took out his phone and opened the "scan QR code to add friends" function.

"I have something to do, sorry." Wang Feifei was too lazy to argue with him, and ran towards the door after saying that.

Halfway there, he heard a woman's voice behind him: "Zhao Qian, what happened?"

Wang Feifei glanced into the distance and saw a slightly overweight woman walk up to the man.

"That must be 'Romantic Flight'!"

"It's best to avoid this kind of person!"

As Zhao Qian saw the woman approaching, he smiled and said, "It's nothing. William just lunged at the neighbor, and I stopped him."

The woman was a little annoyed: "Was that woman from the East District also a resident?"

"Maybe so." Zhao Qian's smile softened as he gazed at the beautiful figure in the distance.

...

Pan Xin waited at home until sunset before Chu Xiang returned home.

He waited outside the supermarket all day but got nothing. The guy spent most of his time inside the supermarket, only occasionally coming out to move or haul goods.

Chu Xiang dragged his tired body home, only to be dragged by Pan Xin to the police station.

"Wait...Are you crazy? That's Xu Huan!"

Chu Xiang couldn't understand Pan Xin's actions at all, and he didn't want to walk into the line of fire.

"You can just go there and sign something, it'll be quick. Aren't you afraid he'll get suspicious if you keep hiding like this? He even called me yesterday."

"You go if you want, I'm not going. Don't forget how Shen Yishu died!"

"Shen Yishu committed suicide, what does that have to do with us?" Pan Xin glanced at Chu Xiang and said lightly.

"What does this have to do with me?"

"Heh, don't be too sure of yourself. If I find out about what happened back then, you won't escape either!" Chu Xiang said through gritted teeth.

Then he glanced at Pan Xin, narrowed his eyes, and seemed to have discovered something: "Why do you keep making me see him? What are you planning?"

"What do you mean? What could I possibly be planning? Go or not is up to you, I don't care anymore!" Pan Xin said angrily.

"Don't blame me if he comes knocking on your door later."

Hearing this, Chu Xiang also became worried. If Xu Huan really came to his door, he would be even more anxious. Maybe... he should just go?

Chu Xiang said coldly, "Fine..."

In the evening, Chu Xiang and Pan Xin arrived at the police station. Xu Huan had just gone out for dinner, and his colleague arranged for the two of them to wait nearby.

Chu Xiang felt a little flustered. He made an excuse to go to the restroom and hid in the bathroom, leaving Pan Xin alone in the office.

Her eyes became restless.

She stared at Xu Huan's spot, thinking about how he worked and rested here every day, and Pan Xin unconsciously looked at him for a long time.

She quickly noticed a framed photo in the most prominent spot on the table. The photo showed the profile of a girl clearing the table, and it looked like it had been taken secretly.

Pan Xin immediately guessed that the woman in the photo was Shen Yishu. She couldn't help but pick it up and found that the edges of the frame were worn and peeling, as if it had been frequently handled and rubbed...

The back of the photo frame read "Love You Forever," and Pan Xin felt a surge of intense jealousy: "He's been dead for so many years and his ghost still lingers!"

"You should know her!" A voice from afar startled Pan Xin.

Xu Huan stood at the door. He saw Pan Xin looking at the photos and said with emotion, "You and I went to the same high school. You should know her, right?"
