Chapter 36 A Mole on the Side of the Waist

Wang Feifei followed Sister Fang to the prison gate and saw that she came out empty-handed, so the matter must have been settled.

The next step is to find the victim girl; hopefully, we can uncover some clues.

But where to find someone? Wang Feifei faced another problem.

The victim was completely covered up in court, making it impossible to see her face.

The only person around me who knows the inside story is the kind lady at the hotel reception.

When Wang Feifei first collaborated with her, she vaguely felt that her sense of justice was inexplicable. Although money was the lure, the risks she took were also enormous.

Should we go and ask her again?

Wang Feifei drove to the hotel, booked a room, and, using the same method as last time, invited the kind lady into the room.

When the eldest sister saw Wang Feifei, she understood that this time things would go smoothly.

As soon as she entered, Wang Feifei got straight to the point: "Sister, you saw the last court hearing, right? It took so much effort to catch him. We can't let all that work go to waste. I want to see the victim. Can you help me?"

The eldest sister understood immediately after hearing this:

"After looking at it, I was furious. He's been to the hotel so many times and looks so respectable, how could I be mistaken? The man in the later photos wasn't him at all."

Wang Feifei nodded, deliberately reminding her:

"Yes, this is indeed strange. Logically, we shouldn't have mistaken someone for someone else, unless... we've been silenced..."

The older woman said angrily, "Yes, I think they took the money. I didn't expect that with such solid evidence, they could still turn the tables. It's true that good people don't live long, but evil people live a long life."

"Don't worry, young lady, I'll definitely help you with this!"

The kind-hearted woman wouldn't make a promise easily if she wasn't sure, because there really was a child in her circle who had been harmed by a beast, and very few people knew about it.

It wasn't something to be proud of, and at the time, the older sister didn't know the girl's background at the hotel, so she didn't dare to reveal it rashly.

After observing these past few days, first the video was exposed, then the beast was arrested and put on trial.

She could certainly guess that this girl was the one who did it, and she felt a surge of admiration for her. Seeing that the beast might escape punishment, she also wanted to do her part.

So he went to his desk, quickly wrote down an address on a piece of paper, and handed it to Wang Feifei:

"This is the child's address. Her name is Yingzi. Go and try your luck. That's all I can do for you..."

“If it were anyone else, I wouldn’t help. You’re a good person, I’ve seen it all these past few days.”

"You'd better hurry up and go. She'll be out of school soon. If you're lucky, you might run into her."

After thanking her older sister, Wang Feifei hurriedly headed to the address on the paper.

It was an old residential area in a town on the western outskirts of the city. When she parked her car downstairs, she was shocked:

The house was so dilapidated that it was almost on the verge of collapse.

Rusty stair railings, litter everywhere on the ground, and walls covered with various small advertisements—this is definitely a slum.

Downstairs, there were bicycles and electric bikes everywhere. Wang Feifei's bike was very eye-catching. Just by standing next to it, she attracted passersby to stop frequently. There should be very few outsiders here.

If you rashly stop the girl downstairs, she will definitely run away. She has been hurt and lacks a sense of security more than the average person. She might run away as soon as she sees you from afar.

Waiting downstairs is definitely not an option; I'd better go to her place first.

Wang Feifei bought a bag of fruit nearby and climbed all the way to the top floor in one go.

Her house is behind that rusty iron gate.

Wang Feifei knocked softly on the door: "Is anyone home?"

It was quite a while before I heard any noise. The person who opened the door was an old woman with disheveled hair and difficulty walking.

After opening the wooden door, she asked warily through the iron gate, "Who are you looking for?"

"I'm Ms. Wang, the homeroom teacher. I'm here to talk to the student and understand what happened." She then deliberately shook the fruit in her hand.

"Grandma, is your granddaughter home?"

The old lady cautiously looked Wang Feifei up and down. Wang Feifei was well-dressed and pretty. Finally, she opened the door with trembling hands.

"Oh, it's Teacher Wang. Please come in."

Seeing how difficult it was for her to walk, Wang Feifei roughly guessed her personality:

He has difficulty walking and lives on the top floor, so he can't go out at all. He rarely communicates with people and has a somewhat withdrawn personality.

To build rapport, she quickly handed the fruit to the grandmother, saying, "I'm a little embarrassed to visit for the first time, but please accept this fruit."

Grandma asked her to sit at the dining table, saying that her granddaughter would be home soon and to wait a little while. Then she went to the kitchen to wash the fruit.

After Wang Feifei sat down, she finally got a clear look at her home.

This is a very small house with only one bedroom, one kitchen, and one bathroom. There is no living room, so you can only sit at the dining table.

The wall behind the dining table was covered with bright red certificates of merit, some of which had already faded.

There were also a few books and pens in the corner of the table, which was probably her study desk.

It's only because a lonely old woman with her granddaughter was targeted by that beast Xu Hui.

Not long after I sat down, I heard the sound of someone unlocking a door, and then a thin, small girl carrying two bags of vegetables walked in.

She wore a low ponytail, had delicate features, and her school uniform was faded but clean and tidy.

Upon seeing guests in her home, a flicker of fear crossed her eyes, and she paused for a few seconds at the doorway.

Worried about being exposed, Wang Feifei spoke first to reassure them:

"You must be Yingzi. I'm your new homeroom teacher. My surname is Wang."

"I'm just here for a home visit today. I'll ask a few questions and then I'll leave."

Yingzi seemed relieved after hearing this. She put the vegetables in the kitchen, then came out and poured a glass of water for Wang Feifei.

Her grandmother didn't say anything, got up and went into the kitchen to start preparing the meal.
