Chapter 22 The Bodyguard Shows His Skills, Police Intervene

Du Rongsheng and his gang from the car rental company, relying on their superior numbers and the tools at their disposal, were not afraid of the bodyguards hired by Chen Yu.

Looking at these bodyguards, all wearing sunglasses late at night, Du Rongsheng sneered inwardly: "What are they trying to prove? Do they really think they can intimidate people just by wearing sunglasses? Aren't they afraid of tripping and falling down in the middle of the night!"

The two sides quickly engaged in combat.

However, in less than a minute, Du Rongsheng and his gang were all lying sprawled on the ground, howling in pain.

A bodyguard named Shen Zhan grabbed Du Rongsheng by the collar and slapped him twice across the face. He then asked in a cold voice, "Where are our men?"

Shen Zhan is the deputy captain of this bodyguard team. He and Zhang Quanmin were comrades-in-arms when they served in the army and had a very good relationship. That's why he was so angry with Du Rongsheng.

"It's...it's inside, in the second room." Du Rongsheng had lost his previous sharpness and answered honestly.

Upon receiving the reply, Shen Zhan looked at Chen Yu.

Chen Yu nodded.

Soon, Shen Zhan and another bodyguard brought Zhang Quanmin out.

Faced with such a display, Zhang Quanmin looked ashamed.

"Xiao Zhang, are you alright?" Chen Yu asked with concern.

“Mr. Chen, I’m fine, but I’m sorry to have disappointed you with my performance today. Don’t worry, I will apply to return to headquarters tomorrow, and headquarters will assign a bodyguard with better skills than me to protect your safety,” Zhang Quanmin said with his head down.

"Hmm? If nothing's wrong, why transfer back?" Chen Yu asked, puzzled.

"I... I can't even handle this little thing properly, and I've even been kidnapped by these scoundrels. How can I possibly talk about protecting your safety?" Zhang Quanming said with a bitter smile.

"Hehe, you can't stand by the river without getting your shoes wet. Just be more careful next time. I just witnessed your strength from your teammates, so I'm sure you're no less capable than them," Chen Yu said with a smile.

“Mr. Chen, Xiao Zhang was off guard and got ambushed. Don’t worry, this will never happen again,” Shen Zhan explained.

Upon hearing this, Chen Yu frowned and came up behind Zhang Quanmin. He saw that there was still a trickle of blood oozing from the back of Zhang Quanmin's head.

"What are you all standing there for? Get Xiao Zhang to the hospital right now! Get the best doctors, and I'll cover all the expenses!" Chen Yu said urgently.

Upon hearing Chen Yu's words, the bodyguards exchanged bewildered glances.

"Captain Chen, you take Xiao Zhang to get treatment. We'll take care of things here," Li Zheng said.

“Mr. Chen, this…” Zhang Quanmin wanted to say something, but he didn’t know how to start. He was feeling complicated.

This wasn't his first time acting as a bodyguard for a wealthy man, but if other wealthy men saw that their bodyguard had been kidnapped by a group of thugs, their first thought would be to doubt the bodyguard's abilities. If he couldn't even protect himself, how could he protect his employer?

Let alone personally bringing people to be kidnapped, the bodyguards would probably immediately complain to their headquarters and demand a replacement.

Chen Yu's behavior was completely different, which made him feel deeply grateful to Chen Yu.

“Mr. Chen, then I’ll take Xiao Zhang to the hospital first,” Shen Zhan said.

"Hurry up, don't delay the treatment," Chen Yu urged.

After watching Shen Zhan leave with Zhang Quanmin, Chen Yu turned his attention back to Du Rongsheng and the others.

He narrowed his eyes slightly and said in a deep voice, "Now, we can talk about compensation."

"Chen Yu, don't be so arrogant, I've already called the police!" Du Rongsheng became defiant again at this moment.

It turns out that while Chen Yu and the others were focused on Zhang Quanmin, he had secretly called the police.

However, Chen Yu simply smiled faintly at this.

Without his tacit approval, how could Zhang Quanmin have pulled these dirty tricks in front of these professional bodyguards?

Call the police? Is he afraid of calling the police? Of course not! After all, he's the victim.

Seeing Chen Yu's calm expression, Du Rongsheng couldn't help but feel a little flustered.

Chen Yu is a billionaire; will the police still side with him?

However, Du Rongsheng quickly calmed down.

Chen Yu is just a nouveau riche; what kind of connections could he possibly have?

Having run a car rental company for so many years, is it possible that your network of connections is not as good as Chen Yu's?

Today's events were indeed somewhat unexpected for him. First, Chen Yu was assertive, and second, the combat strength of the bodyguards Chen Yu hired was also something he had not anticipated.

He just couldn't understand why there was such a huge difference between his people and Chen Yu's bodyguards, even though they were all wearing suits.

But it doesn't matter. The matter is clear now. It is a fact that Chen Yu instigated his bodyguards to beat people. He won't get away without paying a huge sum of compensation.

Chen Yu had no idea what Du Rongsheng was thinking.

However, since the police were about to arrive, Chen Yu did not want to cause any more trouble and did not have anyone teach Du Rongsheng, who had spoken rudely, a lesson.

Chen Yu moved a chair over, plopped down on it, crossed his legs, and quietly waited for the police to arrive.

A short while later, the sound of sirens grew louder as they approached, and soon a police car stopped in front of Chen Yu and the others.

Two police officers, a man and a woman, got out of the car. They frowned as they looked at Du Rongsheng and the others, who were screaming in pain. They asked in a deep voice, "What happened?"

"Officer, you've finally arrived! These people are lawless, causing trouble and assaulting people in our store. You must help us!" Du Rongsheng cried out, pointing at Chen Yu with trembling hands, as if he had suffered a great injustice. It's a real waste of talent that he's not an actor.

"Please, police officer, stand up for us ordinary people and arrest these criminal gangsters!"
