Chapter 32 Outrageous Arms Demands

The next two days.

Chen Yu stayed in the hotel, relaxing leisurely and enjoying the sunshine and scenery of Merica.

While enjoying the tranquility, Chen Yu did not rest.

He uses his memories from his past life to manage investments in stocks and cryptocurrencies.

Although he doesn't intend to be a professional trader, his vague memory of future market trends is enough for him to seize several key investment opportunities.

I sat on the spacious balcony of my hotel room.

Chen Yu opened his laptop and connected to the internet.

After opening a series of financial news websites and trading platforms, I began to carefully analyze market dynamics.

Although the information in my memory is limited.

However, given the current economic situation, he is still able to make some wise decisions.

As he operated, transactions were completed around the world.

Unlike previous conservative investments.

This time he opted for a more aggressive strategy, venturing into high-risk, high-return areas and adding leverage.

Fortunately, thanks to his precognitive abilities, these adventures brought him considerable profits.

A few hours later, he looked at the numbers displayed on his computer screen with satisfaction; his assets were growing at a visible rate.

This speed at which he made money gave him more confidence in facing the apocalypse.

That evening, he was in an exceptionally good mood when he received a call from Robert.

Robert told him that the head of a large military-industrial complex had agreed to meet with him.

“Great, Robert, I’ll be there tomorrow,” Chen Yu replied, a satisfied smile spreading across his face after hanging up. He had a feeling his time in Merica wouldn’t be long.

The next morning, Chen Yu took Li Zheng to the agreed location.

This is a private shooting range located on the outskirts of the city, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, making it exceptionally secluded and safe.

Bringing Li Zheng along was a decision Chen Yu had carefully considered.

Li Zheng was a soldier, and he wasn't particularly close to him; their relationship was purely one of employment.

Taking Li Zheng along to meet the arms dealer in Merica was far too risky; he couldn't guarantee that Li Zheng wouldn't betray him.

But Merica is, after all, their territory, and the meeting place is on their private property. He's not Superman, and it would be too risky for him to go alone.

Compared to revealing his military purchases, his personal safety is clearly more important.

In Chen Yu's view, although Li Zheng was an employer-employee relationship,

However, after spending time together, he came to highly appreciate Li Zheng's professionalism and abilities.

A qualified bodyguard knows what he should and shouldn't say.

As long as Chen Yu doesn't transport a large amount of military equipment to China, Li Zheng is unlikely to betray him.

Upon arriving at the shooting range, Chen Yu and Li Zheng were led to a closed meeting room to wait.

Soon after, a middle-aged man strode in.

He was of medium build, wearing a well-fitting suit, and looked both capable and professional.

This is the arms dealer's agent that Robert contacted, named Mike.

"Mr. Chen, welcome." Mike came forward and shook hands with Chen Yu.

“Hello, Mr. Mike,” Chen Yu replied, while scrutinizing the arms dealer’s agent in front of him.

After guiding Li Mu to sit down, Mike got straight to the point: "I understand you have a need for certain products, but before we discuss the specifics, I'd like to confirm one thing—your use is purely for personal defense, right?"

"Of course." Chen Yu smiled, giving off an enigmatic vibe.

Mike nodded.

Then he took a small electronic device out of his pocket and placed it on the table: "Please tell us your needs first, and we will provide the corresponding product according to your requirements."

Chen Yu knew that this was to be recorded to prevent any possible misunderstandings or subsequent legal issues.

He briefly described the types and quantities of weapons he needed, while reiterating the legitimacy of self-defense.

As Mike listened to Chen Yu's demands, he became increasingly alarmed.

The order included 1,000 P226 pistols, 3,000 M4 assault rifles, 50 M110 sniper rifles, 30 M240 machine guns, 50 mortars, 20 infantry fighting vehicles, 10 Paladin self-propelled howitzers, 20 multi-domain artillery pieces, 10 Phalanx close-in weapon systems, and corresponding ammunition and accessories. They even attempted to purchase 3 Apache attack helicopters and 3 F-16 fighter jets.

You call this personal defense?

You call this reasonable?

These weapons could probably equip an entire legion, right?

With this equipment, it's no exaggeration to say that we could sweep through some of the smaller countries on Earth.

Even Li Zheng frowned deeply, feeling as if he had been dragged onto a pirate ship.

Seeing that Chen Yu didn't seem to be joking, Mike took a deep breath.

"Mr. Chen," Mike said in a deep voice, "your request is far too large, exceeding our general definition of personal defense." Although his tone remained polite, he firmly expressed his position: "These equipment are not only very expensive, but they also involve our national security and international regulations. I cannot imagine them being used for any illegal purpose."

Chen Yu did not show any surprise or disappointment; he had long anticipated this outcome.

His needs are all for active military equipment in Merika, which he would absolutely not sell to others easily.

Moreover, it was being sold to him, a man from Great Xia. He couldn't even get past the military embargo alone, so Mike's reaction was exactly what he expected.
