Chapter 125 Invited an Ancestor

The next morning around 7 a.m., Chen Yu was eating a simple yet expensive breakfast while once again planning today's "disaster relief" activities, while Lin Lele obediently peeled fruit for him.

After the fruit platter was prepared, she didn't rest. She ran up behind Chen Yu and started massaging his shoulders.

Lin Lele's 180° change in attitude made Chen Yu feel a little strange, and he was not used to it for a while.

"Ahem~" He coughed lightly and said to Lin Lele, "Alright, hurry up and eat breakfast! We still have a lot to do today."

"It's okay, I eat very quickly, it won't delay today's schedule," Lin Lele said quickly, while still carefully massaging Chen Yu's shoulders.

Chen Yu smiled wryly, sighed, and said, "I still prefer your unruly self."

"Ah~? Sir, I know I was wrong, I will never dare to talk back to you again!" Upon hearing this, Lin Lele paused slightly, lowered her head, and kept apologizing to Chen Yu.

Chen Yu was speechless. What he just said wasn't a joke; it was the truth.

Although Lin Lele used to be very outspoken and sometimes even talked back to him, it made him feel like she was a friend, giving him a sense of ease and comfort.

That unrestrained communication gave Chen Yu a rare sense of comfort in the tense and heavy post-apocalyptic life.

But now, Lin Lele is peeling fruit for him and giving him massages; she doesn't even sit at the dining table anymore.

This made him feel a slight distance between him and Lin Lele. The two of them had instantly changed from being equal friends to having a master-servant relationship. This feeling made him very awkward, especially in this empty post-apocalyptic bunker, where there were only the two of them. It made him feel an endless sense of loneliness.

He realized that Lin Lele might be deliberately showing such excessive respect and obedience because of some misunderstanding or because she wanted to make up for her previous mistakes.

Admittedly, given Lin Lele's personality, she certainly wouldn't have changed her attitude so quickly before the apocalypse.

But this is the apocalypse, a despairing apocalypse. Lin Lele had gone out with Chen Yu several times and knew how vulnerable humans were in this extreme cold disaster. Only by Chen Yu's side could she feel safe.

However, because of Lin Lele's defiance, Chen Yu wanted to teach her a lesson, so he deliberately ignored her, making her feel abandoned.

This feeling of being abandoned was like a sharp blade in the cold wind, deeply piercing Lin Lele's heart.

She began to reflect on her behavior, wondering if she had really done something wrong that made Chen Yu so cold towards her.

In such a harsh environment as the apocalypse, she was afraid of losing her only support and companion, so she chose to win him back in what she thought was the most direct way—that is, to become more obedient and considerate.

However, this was not the change Chen Yu wanted to see. He just wanted Lin Lele to realize that as a subordinate, she should distinguish between the big and small, and not to go against him or talk back to him regardless of the occasion.

Otherwise, how will his subordinates view him if this continues? What authority will he have left?

This is really detrimental to his future rule.

Looking back now, I realize that I may have overreacted yesterday, pushing Lin Lele too hard and causing her to misunderstand my intentions, which led to the current situation.

Thinking of this, Chen Yu pondered for a moment, then patted his back and said, "Alright, stop pressing. Let's have a proper talk."

Seeing Chen Yu's insistence, Lin Lele had no choice but to stop what she was doing. She blinked her innocent big eyes and asked softly, "What are you talking about?"

Chen Yu adjusted his chair, sat sideways, and then pointed to the chair opposite him, indicating that Lin Lele should sit down.

Lin Lele nodded obediently and sat facing Chen Yu.

Her hands unconsciously clasped together, making her look a little nervous. She secretly glanced at Chen Yu, trying to read something from his expression, but Chen Yu's face only showed calmness and seriousness.

“Lele, I want to talk to you about some things between us.” Chen Yu began slowly, looking directly at Lin Lele. “First of all, I want to apologize to you. My attitude towards you yesterday may have indeed been somewhat inappropriate. As my subordinate, you should have the right to question me, and as a leader, I should have handled these questions in a more mature and rational way, rather than simply expressing my dissatisfaction by ignoring you. This approach not only hurt you, but also affected the trust and understanding between us.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Lele's tension eased slightly. She gently shook her head and said, "Sir, I was also wrong. I shouldn't have argued with you so impulsively, especially in front of so many employees of the group. I should have respected your decision more and understood your difficulties more."

Chen Yu smiled slightly, reached out and gently patted the back of Lin Lele's hand to comfort her.

"I told you, I still prefer your old, unruly self. Don't be so nervous around me. We're friends, aren't we?" Chen Yu said with a smile.

"Mmm-hmm!" Lin Lele nodded repeatedly, "We're best buddies!"

Lin Lele's words carried a hint of playfulness, as if she had instantly restored the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere between the two of them.

"Haha, alright, hurry up and eat breakfast, it won't taste good if it gets cold." Chen Yu laughed heartily, in a great mood.

He was not only happy that Lin Lele had returned to normal, but more importantly, Lin Lele was the only person around him who could pilot a fighter jet. In certain emergency situations, it could be said that Lin Lele held his life in her hands.
