Upper Tower Instance 3: Echo Theater
Rules panel:
Goal: Find and rewrite "your exit line" before the "final scene."
Core Mechanic: The stage will amplify your inner monologue into "lines" and change the scene according to the "dramatic tension".
Taboo: Saying suicidal lines on stage will be forced to happen by the "fate prompter".
Dungeon Guardian: The prompter "White Crow" can turn any line into reality.
The curtain of the theater slowly opened, and Yunshuo and Yuheng found themselves standing on an empty stage.
"Welcome to the Echo Theater," a voice said. "Here, all silence will be heard and all hesitation will be acted upon."
"It seems we have to be careful about what we think." Yun Shuo whispered.
"We should be more careful about what we say," Yu Heng added.
Act I: Inner Monologue
They had just taken a few steps when the floor beneath their feet suddenly turned into a scalding iron plate.
"That's 'dramatic tension' at work," Yun Shuo judged. "The stage thinks we're too bland."
"Then give it what it wants." Yu Heng smiled slightly and spoke out loudly a conflicting inner monologue.
The stage instantly cooled down and the lights became softer.
Act II: Prompter "White Crow"
"Nice opening." A man wearing a crow mask walked out from behind the scenes. "I'm White Crow, your prompter."
He snapped his fingers casually, and a staircase leading to the backstage immediately appeared on the stage.
"The 'exit lines' you're looking for are in the 'script library,'" Bai Ya said, "but be careful, every book there represents someone's life."
Act III: Rewriting Destiny
In the script library, they found scripts with their names on them. Yun Shuo opened his copy and saw the "exit line" on the last page - "I give up."
"Is this our ending?" Yun Shuo frowned.
"It's just one version of the ending," Yu Heng said calmly, "and we are the ones who are here to rewrite it."
They used the power of "Xiji Key" to change their "exit lines" into:
Yun Shuo: "I choose to continue."
Yu Heng: "I choose to stand shoulder to shoulder."
Finale: Battle against the White Crow
"Do you think you can change your fate by rewriting a few lines?" Bai Ya said disdainfully.
He throws out a "book of narration" and recites a line that will trap them on the stage forever.
At this moment, Yuheng inserted a "coordinate nail" into the center of the stage.
“We write our own narration.”
Yun Shuo used the "Aspect of Memory" to read Bai Ya's true wish - he was just a lonely actor trapped in the theater.
"You should also have your own exit." Yun Shuo said.
They teamed up to write a brand new line for White Crow, allowing him to finally be freed from his eternal performance.
"Congratulations, you have obtained the 'Word Seal'."
After the instance ended, the mysterious "Future and Heng" reappeared and reminded them: "On the next floor, at the 'God-Forging Workshop', you will meet your true selves."
"We are always facing ourselves." Yun Shuo said with a smile.
"Then get ready to face a you that is more like you." Wei Lai and Heng said this and then disappeared.
"Let's go," Yuheng looked at Yunshuo, "to the 'God-Forging Workshop'."
