Upper Tower: Prologue: The Inverted City
As soon as the Tower Master finished speaking, the door to the unknown opened automatically. Behind the door was not the world they were familiar with, but an upside-down city.
The sky is below, the earth is above, countless buildings are hanging like cliffs, rain is falling upwards, and birds are flying backwards.
"Rules panel:" a voice sounded in their minds.
Objective: Reach the clock tower at the top of the city and ring the "Reverse Time Bell".
Gravity rules: The ground and the ceiling can be interchanged at any time, and the direction of all velocities is reversed when they are interchanged.
Observation rules: When being stared at by the "opposite eye", the effect of gravity on you will be delayed by three seconds.
"An eye that looks wrong?" Yun Shuo looked up and saw a huge eyeball floating in the sky, slowly scanning around.
Yu Heng calmly analyzed, "We need to complete our action three seconds before it looks at us, otherwise we'll be hit hard by the delayed gravity."
They carefully stepped onto a suspended road. Suddenly, a bell rang, and gravity was instantly reversed!
Yun Shuo stumbled and was about to fall into the abyss. At the critical moment, Yu Heng caught him.
"Look at me!" Yu Heng shouted, drawing Yun Shuo's attention to himself. "The Reverse Eye will prioritize locking onto anyone who is looking at it!"
He quickly calculated the patrol cycle of Niyan and pulled Yun Shuo through the gaps between the buildings.
"Listen to the bell," Yu Heng reminded him, "The interval between bells is fifteen seconds. This is the period of gravity switching."
They came to a square with a huge stone tablet in the center. On it was written: "Blood is ink, shadow is pen."
Yun Shuo understood and used the "Aspect of Memory" to read the remaining information on the stone tablet, and learned that the ancient ritual required "shadow" as a medium.
He looked up at the sky, and a bold plan took shape in his mind.
"Yuheng, I need you to buy me three seconds."
"Is that enough?"
"That's enough."
Yuheng immediately attracted Niyan's attention. Just as gravity was about to switch again, Yunshuo took advantage of the three-second delay and successfully projected his shadow onto the clock tower's hands.
The next second, gravity was reversed, and his shadow was "fixed" on the pointer, moving with it.
"Let's go!" Yun Shuo shouted, and the two of them ran towards the top of the bell tower along the path lit by shadows.
When they finally climbed up the bell tower and rang the ancient "reverse time bell", the whole city began to slowly rotate clockwise.
"Congratulations, you have obtained the 'Reverse Seal'."
The world twists again, and a whole new challenge awaits them.
