Chapter 286 Picking Up Eggs
Little Cloud nuzzled her cheek. "Qingqing, you go to sleep. I'll go out and keep watch for you. If anything happens, I'll take you and run away."
Gu Qing shook her head without saying anything. It wasn't that she didn't want to sleep, but that she couldn't fall asleep.
But during the long night, there are always times when she feels sleepy. Just as she was about to fall asleep, she heard a sound from the distant beach that didn't belong to the waves.
Gu Qing woke up with a start, then hugged the little cloud in her arms tighter and quietly approached the window to look outside.
As the tide rose and spread ashore, enormous sea turtles crawled onto the land. Small birds were startled and took flight. One of the turtles spat out a jet of water, and the bird cried out in pain as it fell to the ground, only to be snatched up and eaten.
It's described as a small bird, but it's about the size of a goose in the original world, and it's quite fast at flying.
Gu Qing knew that if they discovered her, she would have no chance of escaping. She could only try to slow her breathing and try not to attract their attention.
The group of giant mutated sea turtles, some as large as fully unfolded small clouds, did not go into the woods, but instead gathered motionless on the beach.
Gu Qing stared at them without blinking until dawn, when the group of sea turtles crawled around in place for a while before returning to the sea.
Gu Qing finally breathed a sigh of relief after a long while, but she had no desire to sleep and kept watching the sun rise over the coastline.
When Gu Qing first came out of the tent, her joints felt like they were rusty. She stood still for a moment to adjust before slowly walking towards the beach.
Arriving at the spot where the turtle that shot out the water arrow had been, Gu Qing glanced at it for a few moments, then reached out and dug a couple of times, revealing a perfectly round and large sea turtle egg.
Seeing that it was almost the size of an ostrich egg, Gu Qing took it out and held it up to the sunlight, but couldn't see anything, so she took out an instrument to measure it.
(Drip, Level 4 pollution-free sea turtle eggs, a high-energy food suitable for hatchlings, with effects such as balancing energy and enhancing physical fitness.)
Upon hearing the test results, Gu Qing laughed heartily. "Little Cloud, how about that? Look at my luck! There are very few high-level, high-energy foods suitable for cubs in this interstellar space."
Then, in a very childish and dramatic way, she gestured with her hands on the beach and said, "This whole area is the territory that I conquered."
She took out the energy box and put it away, then collected the entire nest of sea turtle eggs, a total of 70 eggs.
For the rest of the time, Gu Qing was like someone addicted to mushroom picking, kneeling and crawling on the ground digging in the sand, finding nest after nest of sea turtle eggs. Occasionally, some were low-pollution, but most were pollution-free.
The low-pollution foods were set aside and not put in the energy box because Little Cloud said she would purify them all so that Qingqing would eat only pure food and absolutely not low-pollution foods.
So the one person and one spirit body were busy with this, but the beach was quite large, and she had no suitable tools other than a pair of gloves.
By evening, they still hadn't dug them all out. Unable to bear it any longer, they went back to their tent, collapsed onto the mat, and fell asleep immediately.
It wasn't until the little cloud smothered her face and woke her up that Gu Qing realized it was already completely dark.
Realizing that time was passing, she was relieved that no strange beasts had attacked her. She then realized that this might be the season for sea turtles to lay eggs.
That's why no strange beasts come to this place. After all, the sea turtles themselves are of a high level, and their attack power is relatively strong at this time.
After stuffing a filling pill into my mouth, I opened a small window in the tent and continued to gaze at the beach on the sea. Sure enough, not long after, sea turtles began to come ashore one after another.
This batch was larger than the last, densely covering the beach. More than one sea turtle was staring at them, stretching its neck and not looking away for a long time.
Gu Qing sat on the little cloud, ready to escape at any moment. Fortunately, the sea turtles didn't attack her, probably because they were too weak and posed no threat.
It wasn't until dawn that the sea turtles returned to the sea. Gu Qing watched as the last sea turtle disappeared into the ocean, by which time the coastline was clearly visible.
Gu Qing stepped out of the tent, crossed the large rock, and arrived at the beach. The waves kept crashing, occasionally pushing small strange beasts ashore, only to have them buried by the sand.
In the salty, fishy air, Gu Qing began peeling sea turtle eggs again. In the process, she even prepared a recipe for these eggs.
