"Let me let you hear the baby's heartbeat," the doctor said, turning on the ultrasound machine.
"Bang bang bang..." A sound like a small train speeding along rang out, and Su Wan finally truly felt the presence of the child.
As soon as he came out of the ultrasound room, Lu Beichuan got up and went to greet him.
"How are you? Is the child alright?" Lu Beichuan asked with concern.
Su Wan rolled her eyes at him: "Can't you talk properly? My child is perfectly fine!"
"Su Wan?" Huang Qijin asked uncertainly when he saw Su Wan's figure.
"Huang Jin! What's this?" Su Wan turned around, surprised to run into Huang Qijin at the hospital. She looked at the woman next to Huang Qijin as she spoke.
"This is my girlfriend, Pan Hong," Huang Qijin introduced.
"Hello, I'm Su Wan. Your husband, Huang Jin, helped me catch a thief." Su Wan briefly introduced her relationship with Huang Qijin to avoid any misunderstanding from Pan Hong.
"Hello!" the girl said shyly.
"Congratulations on becoming a father!" Su Wan said to Huang Qijin with a smile.
"Congratulations, is this your husband?" Huang Qijin's gaze fell on Lu Beichuan.
Su Wan didn't know how to explain her relationship with Lu Beichuan, since they weren't particularly close friends, and explaining it would only make things more complicated.
Su Wan changed the subject and asked Pan Hong, "How many months pregnant are you?"
"Three months," Huang Qijin answered excitedly.
"Then you can go ahead and get busy. We can chat again another time," Su Wan said politely.
After leaving the hospital, Lu Beichuan asked, "Why didn't you introduce myself just now?"
"Who are you? You're not the child's father. What will people think if I tell the truth?" Su Wan said unhappily.
Lu Beichuan was speechless and could only say, "I'll take you back."
