After May Day, Gu Chu took the civil service exam. In mid-June, the results came out, and Gu Chu ranked second with excellent results.
Next, we just waited for the work assignments to be given.
Gu Chu didn't know where she would be assigned to work, but she had taken the civil service exam in City A, so her work location would definitely be in City A. When Rong Shi saw that no one opened the door, he subconsciously assumed that no one was inside and was about to call Gu Chu when the door across the hall suddenly opened.
"Brother Shi! You're back!" Xiao Yating exclaimed joyfully.
Rong Shi was somewhat surprised to see Xiao Yating: "Xiao Yating, what are you doing here?"
"Gu Chu and I are neighbors. We've been living together for half a year," Xiao Yating said in a flattering and obedient manner.
Rong Shi coldly sarcastically said, "If Old Master Xiao doesn't care about you, isn't he afraid you'll commit another crime?"
Xiao Yating's gaze sharpened, a hint of displeasure flashing in her eyes, before she smiled and said, "Brother Shi, Gu Chu isn't home. Would you like to come and sit here for a while?"
Rong Shi didn't answer her, but instead called Gu Chu.
Gu Chu was tidying up her room when the phone rang. When she saw it was Rong Shi calling, her heart skipped a beat, and a strange emotion welled up inside her. Suddenly, she was hoping that the person who had just knocked on the door was Rong Shi.
After answering the phone, Rong Shi spoke first: "Chu Chu, where are you?"
Gu Chu asked in confusion, "I'm at home."
Rong Shi uttered two words: "Open the door."
Upon hearing those two words, Gu Chu's heart leaped with excitement, her blood boiling. She turned and ran out.
