Chapter 144 Old Master Rong Falls Ill

In the private room's restroom, Gu Qingling leaned against the wall with an alluring and seductive pose.

Her curvaceous figure, accentuated by the tight-fitting and alluring blazer, was captivating, and her sexy black stockings made her legs appear even longer and straighter.

Soon, the sound of collisions rang out inside, but it was drowned out by the distorted singing voices from the private room.

In less than ten minutes, the restroom returned to quiet. Sakata Ichino, panting, looked at Gu Qingling, who had a charming expression on her face.

Gu Qingling, though saying one thing, actually praised, "Sakata-kun is really amazing!"

In her heart, she thought: What a useless guy. He finished in a few minutes. I was so aroused, but he couldn't handle it? Looks like I'll have to find a guy to cool me down later.

"I remember you have a younger sister named Gu Chu..."

··············

Lijing Apartment —

Gu Chu sent Rong Shi a text message: [Rong Shi, Xiao Yiyi is already over two months old, and the 100-day celebration will be held soon. I received the invitation, and I hope you can finish your mission before the child's 100th day.]

This was the 30th text message Gu Chu sent to Rong Shi. Ever since Rong Shi told her a month ago that he was going to carry out a secret mission, Rong Shi had disappeared without a trace.

Inside a luxury villa in the suburbs of Beijing—

Qi Mingxuan, Su Qi, and several other people dressed in Taoist robes were all exorcists.

These people were in a room filled with props and talismans, clearly about to perform a ritual.

There were two beds in the room. The person lying on the bed was undoubtedly Qi Mingxuan, while the person lying opposite him was a handsome young man.

"Time's up, begin!"

At Su Qi's command, the five people stood on the Bagua diagram, each corresponding to one of the five elements: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.

Just then, with a loud bang, the villa gate was smashed open, and a special forces team led by You Rongshi rushed in.

A few days later—

Gu Chu finally received a call from Rong Shi: "Rong Shi!"

"Chu Chu, come out for a moment."

When Gu Chu went out, she saw Rong Shi waiting for her at the door.

Gu Chu looked Rong Shi up and down: "Where have you been these past few days? Have you gotten hurt?"

Rong Shi took her hand: "I went to Beijing on a secret mission. Don't worry, I'm fine. How are you?"

Gu Chu said, "I'm fine, my colleagues here take good care of me."

Rong Shi was relieved. Although he had used his connections to take care of Gu Chu, he was still worried that she might neglect him.

"When do you get off work?" Rong Shi asked.

Gu Chu checked the time on her phone: "Half an hour left."

When Rong Shi heard that there was still half an hour left, he said, "I'll wait for you here."

Gu Chu suggested, "There's a coffee shop across the street, go there and wait for me."

"Okay, you go in first." Rong Shi watched Gu Chu's departing figure without moving.

Half an hour later, Gu Chu came out and saw that Rong Shi was still waiting for her at the door.

She ran over and took Rong Shi's arm: "Why are you waiting here? Didn't I tell you to sit and wait in the coffee shop across the street?"

Rong Shi looked at her with gentle eyes: "This is closer to you."

Hearing this, Gu Chu felt as if her heart was soaked in honey: "Let's go!"

Rong Shi gently released Gu Chu, stood up straight, and saluted the guard standing at the door. The guard returned the salute.

After the two finished their greetings, Rong Shi said, "Goodbye, brother!"

He then took Gu Chu's hand and left.

Once they were out of sight of the guards, Gu Chu asked curiously, "What just happened?"

Rong Shi explained, “No unauthorized personnel are allowed to linger in the government building. I showed the guard my military officer’s ID, and to my surprise, he recognized me. After a brief chat, I learned that he had been a soldier in our camp and was assigned to work here after retiring.”

Gu Chu understood and praised, "It's said that soldiers have brothers all over the world, and that's really true."

As the two were having lunch, Rong Shi's phone suddenly rang, and Gu Chu's heart tightened.

She worried that Rong Shi might have some urgent mission again, and then she wouldn't see him for a long time again.

Rong Shi answered the phone: "Yes, I understand. I'll be right back."

Hearing this, and seeing Rong Shi's solemn expression, Gu Chu felt worried and even more reluctant.

"It's alright, you go ahead and do your work, I understand." A hint of disappointment flashed in Gu Chu's eyes, but she still smiled magnanimously as she spoke.

Rong Shi caught a glimpse of disappointment in her eyes, and seeing how considerate and sensible she was, he couldn't help but feel even more sorry for her.

Since they got their marriage certificate more than a year ago, they have only spent a handful of times together. Gu Chu has never complained and has always been very supportive of his work.

With a wife like this, what more could a husband ask for?

Rong Shi looked at Gu Chu steadily and said, "Chu Chu, Grandpa is in the hospital."

"Huh? Then... then let's go back and see Grandpa together." Gu Chu almost didn't react.

"Okay, I'll go pay the bill. You get ready," Rong Shi said, getting up.

Gu Chu also took out her phone: "Okay, I'll call and ask for leave right away."

The two rushed to the airport and boarded a plane back to T City.

On the plane, Gu Chu asked, "What happened? Why is Grandpa suddenly in the hospital?"

"Grandpa is getting old and his health is getting worse."

As Rong Shi spoke, images of his childhood with his grandfather flashed through his mind: from when he was six or seven years old, his grandfather carrying him on his shoulders, to when he was ten, his grandfather teaching him to ride a bicycle, and then going hiking with his grandfather after he entered junior high school…

Before he knew it, he had grown up, and his grandfather had grown old. After that, whenever they met, his grandfather would ask him if he had a girl he liked and when he was going to get married.

Now that he's married, his grandfather is looking forward to helping him take care of his child.

However, he couldn't fulfill his grandfather's wish. He couldn't be so selfish. The child wasn't something he could decide alone. He wouldn't speak up unless Gu Chu did.
