Seeing that it was almost time, Su Wan and Gu Chu prepared to return to their private room. As they passed by a private room, a manager came out of the room, and Gu Chu caught a glimpse of a familiar figure through the crack in the door.
Jiang Jinyu!
Su Wan heard a familiar name from a stranger.
Shen Baiyan!
The two of them were startled at the same time. When they met the foreman's wary gaze, they tacitly pretended that nothing had happened and continued to walk forward chatting and laughing.
After the supervisor lowered his guard and left, the two exchanged a knowing glance and turned to walk to a corner out of sight of the surveillance cameras.
Su Wan spoke first: "Who are the people inside? Why are they mentioning Shen Baiyan?"
Gu Chu saw through her little scheme: "You want to go in and see who's inside?"
Su Wan nodded: "Yes, from what they said, I feel there's something strange about it."
Gu Chu thought of Jiang Jinyu, who had been planning to negotiate with him, and this chance encounter was a good opportunity.
She said, "I know the people inside. Just to be on the safe side, I'll go in pretending to be a waitress. No matter what happens inside, believe me, I'm a reborn person, I can handle the people inside."
Meeting Gu Chu's resolute gaze, Su Wan nodded in agreement: "Okay, then let's split up. I'll go and find a way to block that camera, and you go and change your clothes."
The two hit it off immediately and began to act separately.
Soon, Su Wan found the helium balloons used for the store's opening. She casually placed a white helium balloon in front of the security camera facing the private room.
At that moment, the three security guards in the monitoring room were drinking and playing cards, completely unaware of the anomaly in a certain surveillance video.
Gu Chu also successfully changed into a work uniform that was the same as the one the foreman had just worn. It seemed to be the uniform that another foreman had changed out of after get off work and left in the changing room.
The clothes didn't fit well; it was obvious that the owner of the clothes wasn't as tall as Gu Chu, nor was her figure as well-developed. Su Wan was stunned when she saw that uniform.
"Chu Chu, is it safe for you to dress like this?" Su Wan couldn't help but swallow hard as she looked at Gu Chu's curvaceous figure.
"Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Perhaps this is fate. Alright, don't worry. I'll start recording on my phone now. Be careful outside. If anything happens, remember, the best of the thirty-six stratagems is to flee. If you're discovered, you'll only be a burden to me." Gu Chu said, taking out her phone and opening the recording app.
"Okay, then be careful!"
Gu Chu took a deep breath and opened the door to enter.
As soon as Gu Chu entered, she attracted the attention of everyone inside. When everyone looked at Gu Chu, Gu Chu's gaze quickly swept around the private room.
There were eight men in the private room, four of whom were sitting and four of whom were standing.
The four men sitting there were Jiang Jinyu, president of a leading enterprise in City A, who was ranked first alongside the Shen family; Huang Jianhan, the current mayor of City A; Tan Kui, the county magistrate of Yuanxie County; and Sakata Ichino, a businessman from Japan. Standing behind them were their respective trusted assistants.
"Who are you! Who let you in?" Sakata Ichino demanded sharply in broken Chinese.
Huang Jianhan also looked at Gu Chu warily: "If you didn't call anyone here, get out!"
Seeing that something was wrong, Gu Chu's eyes flashed, and she immediately put on a bright smile and swayed her slender waist as she walked towards Jiang Jinyu: "Jinyu, am I late?"
As she spoke, she sat down next to Jiang Jinyu. While Jiang Jinyu was still confused, she leaned in and, despite her discomfort, gently kissed his cheek. At the same time, she spoke in a voice that only the two of them could hear: "Jiang Jinyu, I know you've always wanted to deal with Shen Baiyan. Help me, and I won't let you down."
One sentence made Jiang Jinyu, who had been expressionless, pause for a moment, then burst into laughter, reached out and put his arm around Gu Chu's waist, pulling her onto his lap.
"Excuse me, everyone, let me introduce you. This is my woman. I like to play around with 'uniform fetishes'. It's really boring for a bunch of grown men to have a dry conversation, so I messaged her to come over and keep me company."
Jiang Jinyu's gaze fell on Gu Chu, and he smiled as he explained to the people in front of him.
Since the group needed Jiang Jinyu's help, he couldn't say much.
Huang Jianhan stood up and said with a smile, "President Jiang, since that's the case, then we won't delay your good deed. We hope you will give our proposal a good consideration."
The three of them got up and prepared to leave with their respective assistants.
Outside the door, Su Wan couldn't hear what was being said inside when suddenly a woman's voice rang out behind her: "What are you doing!"
Su Wan turned around in shock, and the moment she saw Gu Qingling, she wanted nothing more than to slap her mouth out of shape.
Su Wan thought to herself, 'Oh no!' Suddenly, a pair of fair and slender hands appeared and pulled her into his arms, shielding him as he quickly left.
Gu Qingling froze on the spot.
She hadn't expected to finally see Shen Baiyan at 'Spirit Tales' today, so she followed him all the way, only to find him entering a newly opened KTV. Just as she was wondering why he was there, she saw Su Wan eavesdropping.
To retaliate against Su Wan, she deliberately shouted loudly.
Su Wan was indeed scared.
However, Shen Baiyan stepped in to save her.
A KTV staff member approached Gu Qingling and asked, "Beautiful lady, what's wrong?"
Just as Gu Qingling was about to say that she had seen someone eavesdropping, the door to the private room suddenly opened and several men walked out one after another.
Gu Qingling was stunned the moment she saw Huang Jianhan's face.
She might not recognize the two people behind her, but she definitely knew Huang Jianhan.
She had heard her father say that Huang Jianhan was a ruthless man who had repeatedly threatened her father to "pay him tribute" or he would have his tax affairs thoroughly investigated.
