Not long after they started driving, the driver reminded Su Wan, "Ms. Su, there's a car following us."
Upon hearing the driver's words, Su Wan and Gu Chu immediately became alert and turned around at the same time.
Gu Chu immediately recognized the luxury car behind her as belonging to Gu Dongting.
"It's Gu Dongting."
Su Wan was puzzled as to why Gu Dongting was following them.
But whatever the reason, given the Gu family's temperament, nothing good is likely to come of it.
Su Wan instructed the driver, "Shake them off!"
"Okay," the driver said, stepping on the gas.
Seeing this, the cars behind sped up to catch up.
While crossing a traffic light, a truck ran a red light and came from the opposite direction.
The driver reacted quickly and jerked the steering wheel sharply.
A magnificent sidecar came to a steady stop on the side of the road.
The driver broke out in a cold sweat. He gave Su Wan a cold look before driving away.
It's him!
It must be him!
Yamada Jiro's revenge has arrived!
Su Wan broke out in a cold sweat, her face pale as she watched the truck disappear into the distance.
"Wanwan, are you alright?" Gu Chu quickly checked on Su Wan after regaining her senses.
Su Wan's lips trembled: "Chu Chu, I'm fine, quickly check how Xiao Zhao is?"
Gu Chu got up and leaned towards the driver's seat, enduring the pain as she asked, "Xiao Zhao, are you alright?"
The driver shifted his body. "I'm fine."
Gu Chu finally breathed a sigh of relief and slumped back into her seat.
Su Wan suddenly exclaimed in surprise, "Chu Chu, your forehead is bleeding!"
Gu Chu raised her hand and touched her aching forehead, the warm blood staining her red fingers.
Gu Chu glanced calmly at the blood on her hand, then looked back at Gu Dongting's car that was about to catch up, and said weakly, "It's okay, hurry up and go."
Su Wan said to the driver, "Xiao Zhao, to Ren'ai Hospital!"
"OK."
As the car started up again, Gu Chu thought of the suspicious truck from earlier and had a bad feeling.
She suspected that Jiang Jinyu was behind it all, and that his aim was to scare her.
With that in mind, Gu Chu called Jiang Jinyu.
Jiang Jinyu was about to go to a meeting when he suddenly received a call from his subordinate.
"Mr. Jiang, Miss Gu has been in a car accident!"
A hint of surprise flashed in Jiang Jinyu's eyes. Ever since Gu Chu barged into the KTV room, he had sent the people who were watching Su Wan to keep an eye on Gu Chu instead.
"How is she?" he asked calmly, but a hint of worry lingered in his heart.
Because of the information provided by Gu Chu, his people found Shen Baiyan's white moonlight in F country, which gave him leverage to negotiate with Shen Baiyan.
"It's nothing serious. The driver skillfully avoided the attack and probably sustained only minor injuries," the bodyguard said truthfully.
"Okay, I understand. Keep following."
Jiang Jinyu had just hung up the phone when Gu Chu called.
He hesitated for a moment before answering the phone.
"Hello?"
Gu Chu tentatively said, "Jiang Jinyu, I was in a car accident."
Jiang Jinyu bluntly exposed the purpose of her phone call: "You suspect that I did it?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Chu knew it wasn't Jiang Jinyu.
Based on her understanding of Jiang Jinyu, she knew that Jiang Jinyu was a rather confident and arrogant person who generally wouldn't deny what he had done.
"Now I know, it wasn't you." Gu Chu hung up the phone without giving Jiang Jinyu a chance to speak again.
"Wanwan, is there something you're hiding from me?" Gu Chu looked at Su Wan, who seemed distracted.
Su Wan was genuinely frightened by what she had just witnessed. Her intuition told her that the car accident was not a coincidence, but rather Yamada Jiro's revenge on her.
She's being watched.
Su Wan trembled and grabbed Gu Chu's hand: "Chu Chu, I didn't mean to hide it from you, I was afraid you would worry."
Gu Chu sensed that Su Wan was hiding something from her, and frowned unhappily: "If you don't tell me, how can I not worry?"
Su Wan finally relented: "Yamada Jiro... he was acquitted."
Gu Chu narrowed her eyes immediately: "Just as I thought!"
In his previous life, Yamada Jiro was reported the first time and only stayed at the police station for one day. He was released after there was no evidence, but he was finally caught the second time and nailed to the evidence.
In this life, because of her and Su Wan's appearance, Yamada Jiro was imprisoned for half a month, and his release has now become a variable in the cause and effect.
However, she felt that it was not necessarily Yamada Jiro who did it. At least before there was any evidence, Gu Chu believed that Yamada Jiro was just one of the suspects.
When they arrived at the hospital, Su Wan felt insecure about her surroundings, so she took Gu Chu directly to Wu Yan.
Wu Yan is the head of surgery, so Su Wan went directly to his office.
"Brother Wu!"
Seeing Su Wan's pale face, Wu Yan was startled and quickly got up to help her: "Wanwan, what's wrong?"
"I'm fine, quickly check on Chu Chu, she's injured." Su Wan hurriedly pushed Gu Chu forward.
"Director Wu, I'm fine. I'll just have a nurse take me to get some treatment. Wanwan was frightened, so please take a look at her." Gu Chu's expression was relatively calm. After all, she had died once before and wasn't easily frightened.
Su Wan, on the other hand, is very similar to her past self.
Wu Yan found a nurse to take Gu Chu to have her wound treated. After Gu Chu left, Wu Yan pulled Su Wan to sit down.
"Wanwan, what happened?" Wu Yan asked again with concern.
Su Wan was so nervous that she subconsciously grabbed Wu Yan's hand: "Brother Wu, I've been targeted by bad guys."
"Bad guys? What's going on?"
Su Wan told Wu Yan everything about Yamada Jiro.
Wu Yan began to analyze examples of 'abnormal genetic genes' with her.
