Su Wan took a few books and went out.
I took a taxi to Jiafu Hotel and saw Shen Baiyan sitting on the sofa in the hotel lobby as soon as I got out of the car.
Su Wan walked in: "President Shen, I'm here."
Shen Baiyan stood up: "Let's go!"
Su Wan gave a polite, fake smile: "Could you please settle the bill first? Thank you!"
As Shen Baiyan walked, he said, "Let's talk after we finish eating."
Su Wan sat down on the sofa, crossed her legs, and looked at him.
Seeing no movement behind him, Shen Baiyan turned around and found the person already sitting there, clearly determined not to leave without paying.
Helpless, Shen Baiyan had no choice but to take out his phone and transfer 100,000 yuan to Su Wan.
Upon hearing the phone's transfer notification sound, Su Wan's serious expression vanished, replaced by a warm smile.
"Let's go!" Su Wan got up and walked to Shen Baiyan's side.
The two entered the elevator and arrived at the deluxe private room in the catering department.
Two enthusiastic waiters thoughtfully handed the two of them electronic menus.
Su Wan scrolled through the menu: "This one, this one, this one, and these few."
She ordered several of the hotel's signature dishes as well as six dishes she had never tried before.
The waiter smiled and said, "Okay, please wait a moment!"
Shen Baiyan was also ordering food: "One of each of 'Adding Flowers to Brocade', 'Three Lucky Treasures', 'Abundant Wealth', and 'Flying Together'."
The waiter smiled and asked, "Sir, would you like some drinks?"
"Need not."
"Okay, please wait a moment!"
The two waiters left the private room.
Shen Baiyan asked, "Why are you leaving?"
Su Wan took out several books about 'spirit possession' from her bag and gave them to him: "Take these."
Shen Baiyan took the book, puzzled: "What does this mean?"
Su Wan said, "I promised to teach you the 'Spirit Transfer Technique,' but the master can only guide you in; the rest is up to you to cultivate."
Shen Baiyan understood and sneered, "Hmph! You think you can get rid of me like that?"
Su Wan raised an eyebrow at him: "Otherwise what! This is an exclusive secret technique left to me by my master."
Shen Baiyan retorted sarcastically, "When you were in school, did your teachers just throw a few books at you and then ignore you?"
Su Wan lacked confidence, but still argued forcefully: "Of course not, I paid my tuition."
Shen Baiyan looked at her with a smile: "So, it's because I didn't pay my tuition?"
Su Wan denied it: "No, I just don't want to live there anymore."
Shen Baiyan leisurely sized her up: "If you don't want to stay at Platinum, I have several other properties elsewhere. You can choose whichever you like."
Seeing that Shen Baiyan seemed to be pestering her, Su Wan simply said, "I don't want to live with you!"
A flicker of disappointment crossed Shen Baiyan's eyes upon hearing this: "Why?"
Su Wan didn't want to explain: "There's no reason, I just don't want to."
Shen Baiyan thought back on their time together and asked as if he had thought of something, "Did I make you uncomfortable? Or have I neglected you during this time?"
Su Wan didn't expect Shen Baiyan to misunderstand. She admitted that she had enjoyed living at Platinum Garden and loved that kind of life. But it was precisely because she loved it that she was afraid—afraid of losing what she loved.
Liking something can turn into a habit over time, and habits can eventually become addictions. She didn't want to end up getting hurt because of an addiction she couldn't break.
She asked, somewhat irritated, "And why do you insist on living with me?"
Shen Baiyan stared at him blankly, then parted his thin lips slightly: "Because I like sleeping with you."
Upon hearing this, Su Wan was so surprised that she was speechless. It took her a while to find her voice: "You... shameless!"
Shen Baiyan looked at her very seriously: "If sleeping with you is shameless, then I accept it, but what about you? Why don't you dare to tell the truth?"
Su Wan felt uneasy when asked the question. Should she tell Shen Baiyan that she seemed to have fallen for him?
No, she won't say, and she can't say.
He could only angrily retort, "You've gone too far! You won't even spare a dying man like me?"
Upon hearing this, a flicker of sadness crossed Shen Baiyan's eyes. He then said seriously, "I'll go to the hospital with you after we finish eating."
Su Wan: "What are you looking at!"
Shen Baiyan said calmly, "As for medical treatment, I can save you as long as it's not a terminal illness."
Su Wan refused: "No need, I'll accept it whether it's a terminal illness or not."
Shen Baiyan clasped his hands together on the table, looking intently at Su Wan: "But what if I'm addicted to you?"
Su Wan retorted angrily, "Then I'll leave my body to you after I die!"
Shen Baiyan stood up and walked to her side: "Are you really going to die soon?"
Su Wan panicked at the question: "What...what do you mean?"
Shen Baiyan stood behind her, gently placed his hands on her shoulders, leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Since you're going to die anyway, why not stay by my side? At least I can make you happy in your final moments."
Su Wan turned around and looked at him coldly: "Besides the present hardships, there is also poetry and distant places in life. President Shen, do you have any other interests or hobbies besides worrying about that kind of thing?"
Shen Baiyan breathed a warm breath into her ear, his voice low and husky: "Conquering you is my greatest hobby right now."
Su Wan froze, a wave of heat rising in her lower abdomen, her body seemingly responding to Shen Baiyan subconsciously.
She felt ashamed of her inexplicable reaction and said angrily, "Short-sighted! The world is so big, with such beautiful scenery, it's such a pity not to go and see it!"
Shen Baiyan misunderstood her words: "You want to go on a trip?"
Seeing that Shen Baiyan had misunderstood, Su Wan went along with it and admitted, "Yes."
Anything is negotiable as long as we can get rid of Shen Baiyan's entanglement.
Shen Baiyan lowered his head and whispered in her ear, "Where do you want to go? I can go with you."
