Chapter 7 Soul Returning Array

The three entered the police station lobby. The police officer who had taken the man away earlier saw Shen Baiyan and Su Wan and walked over to them: "You're here. That's perfect. I was just about to tell you that the man refuses to admit that he killed someone. We went to his house but didn't find any useful clues. So you've become the ones who framed him."

"Officer, I'm here to report a crime. Li Shengping killed twelve people!"

Everyone was stunned when Gu Chu said that.

The police officer who received her quickly ushered her into the reporting room.

After questioning and taking notes, the police station dispatched personnel, with more than a dozen police cars rushing to the scene of the crime with sirens blaring.

Su Wan and Gu Chu, as insiders of the case, were invited together, and Shen Baiyan also went along.

An hour later, the three men arrived at the crime scene in the lead police car.

In a dense bamboo forest on the outskirts of the city, twelve bloody heads were arranged in a circle. In the center was a thick incense stick that had burned out, leaving only a piece of the stick root. Because of the heat, the heads had begun to rot. The scene could only be described as horrific and gruesome.

"Ugh!" Seeing this scene again, Gu Chu couldn't help but turn around and run to the side to vomit.

Su Wan is mentally strong, but even so, she couldn't help but feel flustered when she saw this scene.

As a spirit medium, she grew up witnessing life and death from a young age. She had seen tragic things, but never anything as tragic as this.

Thinking of what Gu Chu had said to her, knowing that Gu Chu was also one of them in her past life, and seeing how upset she was, Su Wan couldn't help but go over to comfort her: "Don't be afraid, it's alright."

The investigators, forensic experts, and armed police officers were not only shocked but also furious when they witnessed this scene.

"Immediately investigate the identities of these twelve victims!"

With tear-filled eyes, Gu Chu scanned the twelve heads one by one, murmuring, "Liu Guangcai, 63, orchard guard; Li Yanmei, 50, widow from Lijia Village; Sun Kun, 37, migrant worker from a nearby construction site; Zhao Zihan, 24, graduate student from a teachers' college; Zhou Dafa, 59, sanitation worker; Wu Xiuqin, 46, farmer; Zheng Hong, 33, small shop owner; Gu Chu, 20, adopted daughter of the Gu family..."

Gu Chu used her memories from her past life to tell the victim's identity information. When she mentioned the unfamiliar head, Gu Chu had a hallucination. She saw that the head turn into her own appearance and her eyes were filled with fear. She fainted before she could finish speaking.

Su Wan helped her into the police car, and the police immediately took her to the hospital.

Su Wan carefully recalled what Gu Chu had said.

Suddenly, she discovered a mysterious pattern.

Just then, the investigators appeared: "Captain, the victim's information has been obtained."

Su Wan had already figured out what was going on. She said, "Captain Qin, this isn't an ordinary murder case; this is a sacrificial ceremony!"

Qin Yan looked at her: "What do you mean?"

Su Wan began to analyze for him: "Liu Guangcai is 63 years old and born in the Year of the Rat, Li Yanmei is 50 years old and born in the Year of the Ox, Sun Kun is 37 years old and born in the Year of the Tiger, Zhao Zihan is 24 years old and born in the Year of the Rabbit, Zhou Dafa is 59 years old and born in the Year of the Dragon, Wu Xiuqin is 46 years old and born in the Year of the Snake, Zheng Hong is 33 years old and born in the Year of the Horse. If I'm not mistaken, the next few should be born in the Years of the Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig respectively."

Shen Baiyan, who was standing next to her, listened attentively as she finished speaking.

Su Wan's gaze fell on the document in Qin Yan's hand: "May I take a look at this information?"

Qin Yan said, "According to the rules, it's not possible, but if you can provide us with clues to solve the case, it wouldn't hurt."

Su Wan took the documents: "I promise I won't let you down."

After reading it, she exclaimed in surprise, "I knew it!"

"The Rat in November, the Ox in December, the Tiger in January, the Rabbit in February, the Dragon in March, the Snake in April, the Horse in May, the Sheep in June, the Monkey in July, the Rooster in August, the Dog in September, and the Pig in October!"

"This is a soul-returning formation commonly used by exorcists! If I'm not mistaken, he's using twelve lives to exchange for one more!"

"Captain Qin, Li Shengping was arrested by you at the People's Hospital, so the clues you're looking for should be at the People's Hospital!"

Qin Yan: "Then I'd like to trouble Ms. Su to come with us."

The group arrived at the same hospital they had visited before.

This was learned through hospital surveillance and questioning of doctors.

Li Shengping's mother was admitted to this hospital two weeks ago due to late-stage cancer. When she arrived, the doctor had already issued a critical condition notice, saying that she would not live for more than two weeks. However, almost a month has passed, and the person who was originally on the verge of death suddenly seemed to have a sudden burst of energy. Not only did she regain her spirits, but she could also eat and drink. This shocked the doctors, so they gave her a full-body examination. The examination revealed that her cancer cells were still spreading and there was no sign of improvement. This left the hospital's experts and professors completely baffled, and in the end, they could only explain it as a 'miracle'.

Upon learning this result, Su Wan confidently told Shen Baiyan, "This phenomenon is only temporary; she will soon be unable to continue."

Sure enough, no sooner had Su Wan finished speaking than a doctor rushed in: "Professor Xue, the cancer patient in room 306 is vomiting blood!"

The professor rushed over, and Su Wan and her group followed.

When everyone arrived at the ward, the patient's vital signs had become a flat line.

The professor was shocked: "How could this be?"

"The Soul Returning Array was destroyed, so the person is no longer alive," Su Wan murmured to herself.

Upon hearing this, Qin Yan turned around and looked at her seriously: "Ms. Su, you must trust science!"

Su Wan chuckled awkwardly, "I've always believed it."

Shen Baiyan looked at Su Wan with an inscrutable expression.

With Su Wan's help, the heinous murder case was quickly solved. At first, the criminal denied killing the person, but in the face of the evidence, he confessed, saying that he killed on a whim.
