Gu Chu picked up the greens and poured them into the pot.
Sizzle, boom! A burst of flames erupted from the pot.
"Ah! Fire! Rong Shi!!"
Gu Chu was so frightened that she covered her head and ran out of the kitchen.
Rong Shi rushed in and pulled Gu Chu into his arms. He then walked to the stove, picked up the pot lid, and put it on the burning pot.
Soon, the fire in the pot went out.
Gu Chu was still buried in Rong Shi's arms, trembling with fear.
"It's alright now," Rong Shi said softly, trying to comfort her.
Gu Chu then got up and looked back at the stove. Seeing that the fire on the stove was gone, she awkwardly looked up at Rong Shi.
Suddenly realizing that her hands were still tightly wrapped around Rong Shi's waist, she let go abruptly. Just as she was about to pull her hands back, a pair of large hands grabbed Rong Shi's hands around his waist and pressed them down.
Gu Chu wrapped her arms around Rong Shi's waist again. Rong Shi looked down at the girl in his arms, who looked frightened and very pitiful.
"It's not shameful to not know how to cook. If you want to learn, I'll teach you."
His voice was deep, magnetic, and alluring, and Gu Chu was captivated.
She looked up at Rong Shi in a daze.
"No...no, you do it, I...I'll go tidy up the room."
Gu Chu fled the kitchen in a panic.
One hour later—
Looking at the food on the table, Gu Chu thought of her previous confident promise and felt so embarrassed that she wanted to scratch the floor with her toes.
She went to make the bed just now and found that no matter how she made it, she couldn't do it any better than Rong Shi. Suddenly, she felt like a useless little thing in front of Rong Shi.
However, she also carefully considered Rong Shi's strange behavior towards her today. She realized that Rong Shi seemed to have romantic feelings for her. Otherwise, why would he kiss her and keep flirting with her?
"Rong Shi," Gu Chu suddenly called out to him.
Rong Shi looked up at Gu Chu: "Hmm?"
"Do you like me?" Gu Chu asked him seriously.
Rong Shi was silent for a moment, then nodded: "Yes, when I'm with you, I always can't help but want to get closer to you, that must be love!"
Hearing Rong Shi's answer, Gu Chu didn't react much, but she still felt a little sweetness in her heart.
Before Gu Chu could say anything, Rong Shi countered, "What about you? Do you have feelings for me?"
"It's alright," Gu Chu said truthfully.
She didn't reject Rong Shi's approach; on the contrary, she was curious about the feeling he gave her. It was an experience she had never had before, like opening a door to a new century, where everything was exciting.
"Then...should we give it a try?" Rong Shi asked, looking at her.
Gu Chu asked curiously, "How do I try it?"
“Let’s date, starting with holding hands,” Rong Shi said.
"And then?" Gu Chu asked subconsciously.
