Chapter 20 Uncle Liang's Angry

Just as he was about to dial again, his phone rang. When Liang Jianxing saw that the caller ID was his daughter, he answered and immediately scolded her.

After a brief silence on the other end of the phone, a man's voice came through, introducing himself as Old Zhou, a neighbor who worked at the police station.

Liang Jianxing was stunned for a moment, but his mind reacted quickly. His daughter hadn't called him, but the police from the local police station had. Could it be that she had gotten into some trouble outside?

After greeting Lao Zhou, she anxiously asked if something had happened to her daughter.

As it turned out, Lao Zhou said he found his daughter's phone at the abandoned construction site, but he didn't see her. However, there were some other things going on there.

When Liang Jianxing heard that his daughter had dropped her phone outside and he couldn't find her, he was alarmed and immediately said he would go and check.

Liang Qi's mother was originally going too, but Liang Jianxing thought that if his daughter came back on her own later, they wouldn't be able to find each other, which would make things even more chaotic.

So he told his wife to wait at home for news while he went to check on the situation.

Pan Yue couldn't sit still at home; she was very anxious, which led to the scene earlier where she was anxiously waiting at her doorstep.

The group was so engrossed in their conversation that they forgot to inform Liang Jianxing that his daughter had arrived home.

It was Han Ming who had the idea. He quickly asked Aunt Pan to call her husband and tell him that their daughter had arrived home and that he shouldn't worry.

Liang Jianxing was furious when he rushed over and saw the scene: three obviously no good people lying on the ground.

Then there was the daughter's phone, and looking at the broken iron bed in the corner, how could I not figure out what those bastards were up to?

He couldn't see his precious daughter anywhere, and the three people on the ground were half-dead and unconscious, so he couldn't even ask them a question.

Liang Jianxing wished he could kick those bastards to death.

Several more police officers came over from the police station. They planned to take the three pieces of trash on the ground back to the station first, but just then they received a call from their wives.

Upon hearing that his daughter had arrived home, Liang Jianxing breathed a sigh of relief and immediately asked what had happened.

When Liang Jianxing heard that his daughter had almost been raped by thugs, the veins on his forehead bulged and his fists clenched so tightly they cracked. Fortunately, Han Ming saved his daughter at the last moment.

After hanging up the phone, Liang Jianxing, his face pale, turned around and kicked the tattooed blond man hard.

Officer Zhou, who was standing nearby, wondered why his old neighbor had become so furious after receiving a phone call. Could something bad have really happened?

With so many people around, it wouldn't be appropriate for him to just let Liang Jianxing kick those bastards on the ground, so he quickly pulled them aside and asked what had happened.

Despite his anger, Liang Jianxing wasn't confused. If he were to say that his daughter had almost been raped by a few bastards on the ground, it would ruin his reputation.

In modern society, rumors spread like wildfire, and for his daughter's sake, he could only turn away from the work shed with a dark expression.

When Officer Zhou saw Liang Jianxing turn around and leave without saying a word, he immediately understood that it was inconvenient to talk inside, so he followed Liang Jianxing out.

Only after hearing Liang Jianxing's explanation did they realize the seriousness of the matter: several thugs had attempted to rape a young girl—this was outrageous.

It's not uncommon for attempted rape to happen before. Even if someone is not assaulted, if word gets out and some idle, gossipy old lady spreads it around, it can get out of control.

Even things that didn't happen can be spread like wildfire. Since it concerns a girl's reputation, it's best to keep a low profile.

With that in mind, Officer Zhou decided to call over the young police officer who had come with him to investigate the case earlier, and go to Liang Jianxing's house to find out more about the situation.

That young policeman, Xiao Zhang, was his apprentice whom he had personally trained; it wouldn't be a problem for him to keep his mouth shut.

So Officer Zhou arranged for the police officers who came to help to take the guys on the ground back to the station first, and then he took his apprentice and Liang Jianxing back to find out what was going on.

When Liang Jianxing arrived home and saw Han Ming's girlfriend, Dong Xiaolu, there, he forced a smile that looked more like a grimace and greeted her.

After having the two police officers sit down, he asked his daughter to explain what had happened that night.

Don't let Liang Jianxing's good temper fool you; he can be quite frightening when he gets angry.

It was clear that Liang Qi was still very afraid of her father's anger; when Liang Jianxing raised his loud voice, her small body trembled with fear.

Looking at her pitiful appearance, Han Ming decided to explain the situation himself, since the girl had already told him almost everything.
