Chapter 24 "The World"

Once in single-player mode, players can play independently in the city, building houses, driving cars, flying planes, and even holding concerts, but they will only be interacting with NPCs.

Therefore, even if someone is walking down the street and seeing people coming and going, they will have the illusion that they are actually on a real street.

However, if the player chooses another interaction mode, namely the online mode...

So, their entry process is somewhat different from single-player mode.

First of all, you can't just build houses on empty land in the city at will, because there is a building guild in the online mode, and you can only do so after you have the corresponding approval.

Joining various professions isn't something you can do at will; you need to undergo corresponding assessments.

Of course, for the sake of game playability, the so-called assessments and tests are just formalities.

The game currently features many built-in professions, each with specific working hours and income, which are also intended to help players pass the time.

It can also be used to earn in-game living expenses.

Every player entering the game has a starting capital that can at least guarantee them a place to live in an apartment.

If all you do is play games and watch movies in your apartment, then after your initial funds are used up each month, you'll have no choice but to sell your property and move into a hotel.

If you keep going like this, you'll become a beggar. Although you can join the beggar profession and beg on the streets, if NPCs and players don't give you money, you'll just starve to death.

I'm starving. There's nothing I can do but either register a new account or spend real money to revive my game character.

So this is the money Han Ming can make by operating the game. Of course, some people in the game just want to go in and experience a different kind of life.

Even better, spend more money on Han Ming, and he can let you live in a luxury villa and travel around in a sports car every day.

Don't say you wasted your money. Go into the game and check out the travel mode. The graphics are so realistic you'll want to cry.

Han Ming was so engrossed in thinking that he didn't notice the passage of time until the computer beeped, at which point he realized that several hours had unknowingly passed.

Upon seeing that it was a QQ message from his girlfriend Dong Xiaolu, Han Ming immediately opened the chat box. Dong Xiaolu told him that she had been away for several days, and as soon as she got home, her mother stopped her and asked her all sorts of questions.

Han Ming finally managed to escape his mother's questioning by making an excuse that he needed to sleep. He glanced at the time—goodness, it was past 10 p.m. It seemed his girlfriend had endured quite a bit of interrogation.

Han Ming didn't think much of it; it's normal for parents to care about their children. Now, however, he had a question he wanted to discuss with his girlfriend.

That means the game is almost finished being designed. I just need to go into the "virtual game room" in the next few days to test it out.

But what name to use for the game's release is something I need to discuss with my girlfriend.

The two discussed it on QQ for a long time but failed to reach an agreement.

There was no other way, so Han Ming finally suggested that since it was set up as a completely new life and a completely new world.

Then let's just name it "The World" and not bother with first or second place. If we can make this game so realistic that it's hard to tell the difference between the real and fake versions in the future...

Players will naturally distinguish between the first world and the second world.
