Chapter 7 is only useful to myself.

"Thank you so much, Xiaolu, for coming all this way in this heat."

Han Ming sincerely expressed his gratitude to Dong Xiaolu.

Dong Xiaolu seemed to have anticipated Han Ming's response, and smiled slightly:

"Han Ming, don't be so polite with me. I misunderstood you."

As she spoke, she couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed, since she had shown a lot of distrust towards Han Ming on the phone. She hadn't expected that Han Ming's father was indeed sick and hospitalized.

But he clearly sent me a picture of a meteor shower last night. Did he take it on the top floor of the hospital?

His father is sick, how can he still be in the mood to watch a meteor shower? Dong Xiaolu still had many questions in her mind, but now that they were face to face, she was too embarrassed to ask them.

Whether it was the air conditioning in the store or the cold drinks he had consumed that had an effect, Han Ming calmed down and naturally told Dong Xiaolu about what had happened recently.

Of course, the story omits the part where he was driven to desperation by his creditors and shed tears, because he had to maintain his heroic spirit in front of a beautiful woman and couldn't afford to lose face.

"You mean, you've been dealing with those debt collectors from your family lately? And you were sitting on the roof of your dad's factory last night watching the meteor shower?"

"Yes, I just happened to run into you, so I took a picture for you. I'm not kidding you."

As Han Ming recounted the story, Dong Xiaolu's mind was constantly processing the information she had just received.

His father suddenly fell ill, and creditors came to the door demanding repayment. Although Han Ming spoke of it casually, as if he were telling a story, the incident was not the main point.

But Dong Xiaolu knew very well that Han Ming must have had a very difficult time going through all of this.

Put yourself in my shoes; if it were you, you'd probably be overwhelmed, at a loss, or even in tears.

Thinking this to herself, she looked at Han Ming with even more tenderness.

This guy was there when I joined the company; he's a senior colleague.

This is an internet company where, apart from marketing, the majority of the staff are women, while 99% of the technical staff are men.

Han Ming stood out among the twenty-odd programmers.

Because he doesn't wear glasses, it's hard to imagine that a man who deals with code and games all day could have such good eyesight.

In that group of bespectacled young men, Dong Xiaolu naturally took notice of this guy named Han Ming. He wasn't particularly handsome, but he gave off a very sunny vibe.

Later, through interactions with colleagues, it became clear that this boy was quiet yet lively, neither stupid nor foolish, eloquent but not verbose, and not annoying.

Moreover, he is never picky about his work, and he is happy to work overtime to help his colleagues catch up on their work. He always has a faint smile on his face.

Dong Xiaolu, who had rejected countless male gods in college, suddenly found herself admiring this boy. Could this be a crush?

Good heavens! The thought startled Dong Xiaolu when it flashed through her mind. She searched online countless times for analyses of unrequited love.

The conclusion was that it wasn't a crush, but simply admiration, or just a connection at first sight.

But Miss Dong forgot that love often begins with first impressions.

Therefore, every time she saw Han Ming at the company in the days that followed, the attraction between them grew stronger.

I feel like the day is normal if I can sneak a peek or two at him every day. If I don't see him on a particular day, I feel a little regretful and lost.

The saddest time is during holidays. Watching couples pass by on the street, Dong Xiaolu always fantasizes that he can stand beside her and unconsciously wants to call him and ask him out.

But I'm a girl, and it would be too unladylike to do that, so I could only fantasize about it in my head each time.

The company's employee gatherings are the happiest moments for her.

When everyone teased her and pressed her about whether she had a boyfriend, their eyes would always unconsciously drift towards Han Ming. What was infuriating was that this blockhead just couldn't sense it.

Even without glasses, you're still blind!

Dong Xiaolu often complained to herself like this.

After recounting his experiences over the past few days, Han Ming felt much more relaxed. It seems that what the experts said about finding someone to confide in to help relieve stress is indeed true.

But sitting opposite me was Dong Xiaolu. I don't know why, but I blurted everything out. It seems a bit rash.

Although I had my eye on this beautiful woman, look at her, she's a rich and beautiful woman from the provincial capital, and I heard from my colleagues that she's related to a high-ranking executive in the company.

I figure this young man from the outskirts of the provincial capital probably wouldn't even catch their eye.

If it weren't for the boost to his confidence from the X-ray glasses today, Han Ming would never have told her about these things.

The atmosphere became somewhat awkward. Dong Xiaolu felt sorry for her crush, while Han Ming was nervous about the beautiful woman, afraid of offending her.

Han Ming's X-ray glasses on his nose also joined in the fun.

Height 168 cm, weight 51 kg, measurements 36-24-35.

The letters following the first 36, in particular, stirred ripples in Han Ming's heart.

No wonder I secretly glanced at her earlier and thought she had a great figure; she's actually that good.

The demon in the corner of Han Ming's heart began to stir again.

The glasses sensed the demon's call and displayed a line of information.

"The target object is wearing two pieces of fabric, which meets the perspective condition. Should it be displayed?"

There is another line of prompts below.

"Based on ethical standards, please carefully consider whether to use the X-ray; non-spouse couples should choose carefully."

Oh my god, the little devil inside Han Ming was about to have a nosebleed, frantically wanting to choose "yes".

But the angel inside me is calling out, "Look how immoral that girl is! Choose 'No'!"

Han Ming was torn, torn between looking or not looking.
