Chapter 45 Elopement Tonight: Heligaluo HE Ending Walkthrough Progress: ...

The day of the Sprout Festival.

As usual, Heligaluo was handling the official duties piled up in the temple due to his training. His Holiness the Pope in the Eternal City had entered a semi-retired state, and only documents that nominally still required the Pope's decision would be handed over to His Holiness.

Ansia was nowhere to be seen all day, and was probably fiddling with something in her room.

As night fell, she quietly approached Heligaluo's room and knocked three times.

Knock knock knock.

The tightly closed wooden door was half-open, and Heligaluo stood behind it. The wall lamp cast a warm yellow glow, making his skin appear slightly yellow, as if a pure white saint had stepped down from the altar and become a living person.

A hint of anticipation flickered in his deep blue eyes. "Shall we go out now?"

Their hearts beat in unison at that moment.

Ancia couldn't help but tense up and whispered, "Put this on and come with me. Your face is too recognizable in Red Maple City. Tonight, if we wear masks, no one will recognize us."

She held two half-masks in her hands. When she put them on, most of her face was covered, with only the part below her nose showing. "I made these myself, because I was afraid you wouldn't be used to the masks sold outside."

Both masks were pure white and perfectly symmetrical, with only a thin outline of pale gold around the edges. They were polished very smoothly and had a faint, clean scent.

Ancia slipped inside, and even though they were the only two people nearby, a strange sense of excitement slowly filled her heart. "We won't go out through the main gate; there are patrolling knights there."

Heligalo looked somewhat bewildered. "If not through the main entrance, where else can we go?"

Ancia pointed to the balcony, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She gently pushed open the glass door and skillfully encouraged the ivy growing beside the balcony.

Heligalo: "..." He seemed to understand how Ancia had gotten up there that day.

Ancia climbed up the ivy to the first floor first. Suddenly, she felt playful and opened her arms to Heligaluo, who was standing on the balcony. "I am Ancia, a three-star priest. If you trust me, jump down from the building and I will catch you."

Heligalo's complex expression was hidden by his mask, but he eventually gave in silently. He nimbly jumped off the second floor, his robe billowing in the wind, revealing a slender waist with defined lines and a large cluster of golden leaves around it.

There's nothing to say to characters like you with normal physical and strength attributes!

Ancia puffed out her cheeks and reluctantly withdrew her arms.

As Ancia walked along the long side wall of the temple again, her mood was completely different. She walked briskly and met Jess's gaze as he led a patrol of knights at a corner.

Jess couldn't help but take a few deep breaths, paused, and ordered the people behind him, "Turn around and inspect the original route again."

"Yes, Commander."

Anciya retreated around the corner, opened the system map, and watched the string of green dots get further and further away before she patted her chest and whispered, "That was close, we almost got spotted by the patrol team."

Heligaluo stood behind Ancia, his eyes crinkling beneath his mask. "Hmm, it was quite thrilling."

Ancia dared not let her guard down any longer, and with the system map on, she successfully led Herigalo out of the Church of Light.

Standing outside the secluded side gate, Ancia breathed in the slightly chilly fresh air and turned to look at the person beside her. "We're like this... it's like we're eloping."

Heligalo smiled. "So, where does this lady intend to take me?"

Ancia stretched out her hand, "No destination. Wherever fate takes us tonight, that's where we'll go."

Heligalo gently took her hand, the warm, soft touch traveling up the vein in her ring finger, all the way to her heart. "Okay."

Take me away tonight.

The two strolled hand in hand down the street. Once they left the area of the Church of Light, the street immediately became lively. There were many residents like them, holding hands openly, ranging from the elderly to the young, of all ages. When they saw them wearing masks, they would show a kind and mischievous smile.

“Red Maple City is located on the border of the Empire, and is the closest city to the Monster Mountain Range. It was rebuilt after the war twenty years ago, so the local residents have a peculiar contradictory temperament. They move in a hurry and work hard, as if they are racing against time, but they also cherish the present moment and enjoy every happy little moment,” Heligalo explained slowly.

Ancia listened quietly, learning about the city anew from Heligalo's introduction.

Compared to the magnificent and elegant Eternal City, the architecture of Red Maple City is too regular and uniform, without any artistic design. However, people who love life will find all kinds of plants to decorate their homes, adding a touch of greenery to the rough brick and stone houses, making them more vibrant.

“In spring, the stone houses here bloom with flowers of all colors.” Heligalo pointed to the bare flower railings on the wall, which now only contained frozen black soil.

The lively celebrations had almost come to an end during the day, leaving only one last activity for the evening – waiting in the square for the fleeting Udumbara flowers to bloom.

A large crowd had already gathered in the square, and some people were handing out free drinks. Ancia curiously accepted a cup.

The steaming hot liquor emitted wisps of steam and smelled slightly bitter.

Anxi didn't dare to drink too much, only taking a sip. As the wine slid across the back of her tongue, a strong bitterness instantly spread throughout her mouth, then rose up in layers from her throat, each wave stronger than the last.

Her distorted facial expression couldn't be hidden even by the mask, but the old woman distributing the bitter wine laughed, "This is winter tide wine, you'll get used to it. If you really can't drink it, give it back to me, don't waste the food."

Heligalo took the paper cup from Ancia, spun it slightly, and drank it all in one gulp without changing his expression. "It won't be a waste."

Ancia felt as if she had been hit by that glass of wine, her face contorted in a bitter expression.

The old woman handed over a new paper cup, saying, "Try this cup of Spring Life Wine, it's sweet. Wishing you two lovers a sweet and happy life together."

Just as Ancia was about to explain that they weren't a couple, she saw Heligalo take the paper cup.

“Thank you, we’ll finish this one too.” Heligaluo handed it to Ancia, his tone gentle and calm. “What’s wrong? Doesn’t your mouth taste bitter?”

Anciya shook her head, took a small sip of the Spring Life Wine, and the faint sweetness eased the bitterness in her mouth.

The old woman pushed the cart away, and they found an empty bench to sit on. From there, they could see the Udumbara flowers that covered the central pool of the square.

"Is this the flower unique to Red Maple City? It looks like an ice sculpture." Ancia was attracted by the pool full of blue ice crystal buds, which showed no signs of blooming yet.

“I’ve heard that the flowers are beautiful when they bloom, but I’ve never seen them.” Heligalo remained sitting upright, his hands neatly placed on his knees, but this time he wasn’t sitting at the other end of the bench, but only a hand’s width away from Ancia.

Ancia began to talk about her own experiences, but all of them happened after she entered the game. Her thoughts jumped around, and she said whatever came to mind. Herrigalo would occasionally chime in, but he listened attentively to everything, even though he had already seen it in the intelligence reports.

A huge clock stood in the square, its hands ticking away second by second. When the minute hand pointed to "45", there was a commotion by the pool.

The blue ice crystal shell shattered, revealing translucent light golden petals inside. The stamens swayed gently in the cold air, and the entire pond of ephemeral Udumbara flowers glowed, an unbelievable sight.

Ancia and Herigalo watched the ephemeral Udumbara in silence, cherishing every second of their existence.

Just fifteen minutes later, the ephemeral Udumbara withered, its petals turning into dust and scattering in the air.

"So beautiful! So this is the ephemeral Udumbara, a flower that blooms for only fifteen minutes on the night of the New Bud Festival each year," Ancia exclaimed.

Ding ding ding...

As the clock struck twelve, the people in the square began to hug and kiss, celebrating the complete end of winter and the Warcraft tide, and welcoming the true arrival of spring. Everyone was happy.

“Ancia, the New Sprout Festival is over,” Heligalo said softly. “I had a great time tonight, thank you for taking me out.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a weight pressed down on his shoulder.

Ancia sensed that Heligalo was about to say something, so she leaned heavily against him and said, "Heligalo, I'm drunk, I'm going to sleep."

In fact, Heligalo knew everything. For example, Ancia wouldn't respond to him, the feelings between the two were not equal, he was the one who liked more, and Ancia wasn't really drunk, but at this moment she was indulging him and allowing him to do certain things.

Ancia closed her eyes. She could feel Herrigallo move closer to her, the two of them almost touching. Herrigallo gently removed the mask from her face.

Should I kiss her?

Ancia's eyelashes trembled, and she closed her eyes even tighter. She felt a slight touch, but it wasn't her lips.

It's hair.

Heligalo brushed aside Ancia's bangs and adorned them with a simple gemstone hair clip.

He didn't do anything inappropriate, he simply brushed her hair aside, put a hair clip on her head, and whispered earnestly in her ear, "Ancia, you look great with your hair parted to the side."

Heligalo put both masks away, carried Ancia on his back, and walked down the street where it was starting to snow. The swirling snowflakes fell on their hair, turning their blonde and black hair white.

Because of the snow, everyone on the street went home, but he walked step by step toward the Holy See of Light.

Heligalo thought, "God of Light above, if you can hear my prayer, please make this path a little longer."

But the journey didn't change; no matter how slowly he walked, he would eventually reach the Holy See of Light.

The New Sprout Festival will end, the fleeting twilight will wither, the bitterness of winter tide wine will dissipate, but responsibility will endure forever.

Jess was already waiting at the side door. As soon as he opened his mouth, Heligaluo gently shook his head. Ancia on his back was breathing steadily and deeply; she had really fallen asleep.

Heligalo escorted Ancia back to her room, gently laid her down to sleep, and then leaned down to leave a fleeting kiss on the back of Ancia's hand.

The system didn't announce anything, but the data in the task progress column flickered and changed subtly—[Herigalo HE Ending Walkthrough Progress: 99%]

Once the door closed softly, Jess whispered, "Your Holiness, news of the Wedge of Radiance has leaked; there's a traitor within the Holy See."

Author's Note: Heligalo and Ancia have confirmed their feelings for each other! They've won over their first male lead, and next up is Ellan, not too long from now. These two are a pure love couple! [cat emoji]

I wonder when this story will finally be available for purchase (V) [pity]. I've had it saved for ages and haven't touched it.
