Chapter 48 Summer Vacation - First in Grade

Chapter 48 Summer Vacation - First in Grade

First-year grades are calculated using a weighted average; with the same grade, students who participate in more courses and activities will rank higher.

Ms. Diana distributed the final scores to the students, saying, "I'm so glad we had such a wonderful time together this year. Four students passed the Samsung Career Services assessment before the end of the school year and received excellent ratings."

Excellent evaluations are secondary. Only freshmen who are promoted to three stars in advance are qualified to study under a magic master in the second year. The gap between people has already started to widen from now on, and it will only get bigger and bigger.

As Ancia unfolded her settlement sheet, the process of slowly unrolling the curled parchment gave her a hallucination of receiving her final grades.

Fundamentals of Magic Theory: Excellent

Nurturing and Rehabilitation: Excellent

Radiant Inscription: Excellent

Assassination skills: Qualified

Freshman Challenge: Excellent

Winter training: Excellent

Academic Year Ranking: 1

Congratulations to the player for completing the main quest [First Year of School].

The player receives 80,000 gold coins, 120,000 experience points, and reaches level 39.

Ancia breathed a sigh of relief and pointed to the row of freshman competition entries, asking, "Heli, does this crown pattern mean champion?"

“No, this is the best freshman mark in the competition, congratulations,” Heligalo said with a smile.

“Aren’t we on the same team?” Ancia looked at Heligalo’s settlement sheet, which showed four excellent grades, ranked 2nd in the academic year, and his scrimmage results did not have a crown mark.

“Although I didn’t watch your entire individual match that day, your performance made you a well-deserved freshman,” Heligalo said. “Besides, I’m missing one individual match, aren’t I?”

It's better to be absent than to be eliminated by Skark outright! Princess Eve angrily folded up her third-place settlement sheet. Before enrolling, she thought the worst she could do was lose to Heligaluo, but now she hadn't even gotten second place. It must be the Church of Light that defeated their royal family.

The last class had no lessons; it ended after the settlement slips were handed out. Erlan and Skark walked openly into the first-year classroom.

Skalk: "Ancia, where are you planning to go this summer? How about the snowy mountains of the North? It's a great place to escape the heat."

Heligalo: "If you wish to go elsewhere, the entire Holy See of the Empire will welcome you."

Princess Eve was not to be outdone, "I have three manors and a palace, and I just need someone to accompany me to enjoy the scenery. I think you are a pretty good candidate."

Ancia's information has been altered by Heligaluo, and now they all believe she is an orphan who has inherited a large fortune and will be living alone for three months during the summer vacation.

Erlan remained silent behind them, leaning lazily against the wall.

Ancia: "I should be going to my mentor's mage tower during the summer vacation. There are still many magic arrays to study, so I probably won't have time to run around."

After they left, Erlan approached and asked, "The school year is over. What about the payment for teaching Ancient Elvish? Are you trying to renege on your promise?"

A slender hand reached out to Ancia, asking her for it.

Five memory pearls were placed in his palm one by one. Airan was taken aback at first, then curled the corners of his mouth and deliberately misinterpreted her behavior, "You must have praised me for a whole day and night to have so many, right?"

"You wish! None of these five are the one you want," Ancia rolled her eyes.

Airan counted the pearls in his hand again; there were indeed five. "But didn't you say Beatrice only had four memory pearls left?"

“A mysterious person sent over the fifth one, which contains the diagram and etching process of the Azure Whisper Communication Array.” Ancia pinched her brow. “I guess this mysterious person likes to live in the tower in the middle of the lake.”

Having incurred the dean's debt for no reason, Anciya was not in a good mood. She waved her hand impatiently, "Take it away and let your elven array scholars try it out."

She looked much more haggard because of the Mist Moon Elf incident, and Erlan's heart softened. He stopped chasing after Ancia for the Memory Pearl, which he had only meant to tease her.

He turned to leave, when he suddenly heard a faint whooshing sound from behind. He caught it with his backhand and realized that it was the sixth memory pearl.

Ancia stood on the boundary between light and shadow, sunlight casting a soft halo on her black hair. She smiled and said, "Your reward, I keep my word."

*

The three-month summer vacation has officially begun.

Ancia was quite happy in the mage tower, spending her days researching from the moment she opened her eyes. All her food was ordered by her Radiant Parrot, Abby, who would then fly it to her room. Her mentor, Cheryl, had a similarly chaotic schedule, and unless they left notes to arrange a meeting time, they could never see each other.

With guidance from her mentor in the light-based magic array, she made rapid progress and her research went smoothly. Not only did she successfully master two new magic arrays, but her mentor also sent her out to attend the array scholars' exchange meeting in Huangyang City on her behalf.

Cheryl: "You've already learned the light-based teleportation array. This trip to Huangyang City will be perfect for establishing a teleportation anchor point, so you can use your own array to teleport there in the future."

My own teleportation array!

It sounds exciting. She was always being taken around by her mentor, and she wanted to experience the sense of accomplishment of traveling thousands of miles in an instant on her own.

Cheryl: "It's cold in Huangyang City, so bring a couple more layers. Remember not to snatch the last dessert from the Archmage during meals. If you don't understand something during the meeting, nod as if you're taking notes. If anyone speaks ill of me in front of you, write down their name and tell me when you get back..."

Ancia: "Mentor, is this a proper magic exchange meeting?"

Cheryl: "Magicians are human too, and there are always some strange things about them, especially those who are obsessed with array studies. Don't worry too much, you are my apprentice. If anyone causes you trouble, just say my name, my name, my name, and ...

Actually, just mentioning Murtrie's name was scary enough. Ancia accepted her mentor's full care and love and boarded the carriage to Huangyang City alone.

The array scholars' exchange meeting was held at the Mage Association in Huangyang City. Anciya, wearing Cheryl's nameplate, sat in the mentor's seat. All around her were eight-star and nine-star mages, and two archmages sat on her left and right.

Samsung Pastor Ancia: The pressure is immense.

One of the archmages was quite amiable, chatting with her with a smile.

The female mage said, "Cheryl's apprentice? I didn't expect her to take on an apprentice."

Male Archmage: "With her seemingly serious and rigid personality, but actually sharp and insightful, being her apprentice must be very difficult, right?"

Ancia glanced at the male mage's nameplate subconsciously. Hobbes. Okay, I'll remember that.

Hobbes: "Why are you copying my name? Do you want to become my disciple?"

Anciya: "My mentor told me to write down anyone who speaks ill of her and to tell her when I get back."

Hobbes: "..."

Katarina: "Pfft."

Hobbes: "You are just as despicable as your mentor."

Ancia remained expressionless and wrote a "2" after Hobbes's name.

Katarina: "Hahahahahahaha..." She was overjoyed, and only after laughing did she tell Ancia that Hobbs had disliked Cheryl for a long time.

Adhering to the idea that "my enemy is my enemy," Ancia snatched the last piece of sweet cake from Hobbes during the tea break at the exchange meeting.

Ancia: "I'm still a child. Would a Grand Magister take dessert from a child?"

Hobbes gave a forced smile. "Of course not, please."

Aside from this, Anciya strictly followed her mentor's instructions and did not tarnish her reputation in the mentoring community.

Katarina: "I see now, Cheryl is just here to show off that she has an apprentice."

Hobbs snorted coldly and said nothing more.

The several-day exchange meeting ended quickly, and Ancia activated the teleportation crystal directly in the Mage Association to return to the Mage Tower.

Cheryl, who rarely appeared in the hall, looked up from the grimoire in her hands. "You're back?"

Ancia nodded and took out items from her system inventory one by one. "Mentor, these are leaves from Huangyang City, this is the best dessert from the exchange meeting, this is a gift given to you at the exchange meeting, and this is a record of Hobbes saying bad things about you..."

Cheryl had been listening with a smile, but fell silent after seeing the record, which was as large as the grimoire in her hand. "Let me see it."

It's one thing to talk badly about her normally, I can't be bothered to pay attention, but you can't slander her in front of the apprentices.

Cheryl glanced down and saw that Hobbes' name was followed by "+1+1+1" according to the date. The apprentice had even thoughtfully calculated the number of times per day and the total number of times.

Anciya tactfully left the space to her solemn-faced mentor and quietly went down to the underground research room. She had heard a lot of experience at the exchange meeting, and while she was still feeling the heat of the moment, she also had the teleportation anchor point of Huangyang City, which was perfect for trying to etch the light-based teleportation array.

As the magic gradually spread, Ancia entered a state of flow, unaware of her mentor who had rushed to protect her.

Cheryl watched with satisfaction as the magic circle under her apprentice's hands gradually took shape, emitting a pale golden light on the ground. It only needed to be activated with magic to instantly reach Huangyang City.

“Perfect.” Cheryl clapped softly.

Ancia was in a state of excitement. "My mentor arrived just in time. I also want to try out the magic circle I saw in Beatrice's notes."

Cheryl: "Yes, I'm here. You can try it without worry."

Ancia placed the array diagram she had copied on the table and began etching the array again.

A green magic circle formed, and Ancia curiously tapped one of the nodes. The magic power that hadn't completely dissipated from her hand was instantly absorbed by the magic circle.

Ancia: "!!!"

Cheryl's eyes were bloodshot as she rushed to Ancia's side from behind, but she didn't leave behind the apprentice who had been taken away by the teleportation array.

She looked down at the blueprints on the table and noticed something unusual upon closer inspection. Normal wood-type teleportation arrays and light-type teleportation arrays are similar, but this was a special teleportation array with complex and overlapping inscriptions, so ancient that it was unrecognizable. It did not require a teleportation anchor point or a large amount of magic power to activate it, and could directly take the user to their destination.

Without hesitation, Cheryl used a telepathic spell to ask, "Ancia, are you alright?"

Ancia's incoherent voice came from the other end, "Mentor, I...I...I'm fine! I'll come back as soon as the teleportation crystal is usable!"

The telepathic communication ended, and Ancia, soaking in the water, awkwardly cleared her throat. "Um... Ellan, please put your clothes on first."
