Chapter 16 Battle 2

Yuexi's gaze shifted from the many spirit swords to the bottommost sword with a chip.

The sword has an ordinary design, but the tip has been cut off, as if it had been used in a fight and the tip had been chopped off.

Yuexi pointed at the hilt of the sword and asked, "Why are you selling this broken sword?"

The old man from Baibaozhai smiled and said, "This sword itself is of the celestial sword grade, but it has been damaged too much and has been reduced to the spirit grade. If it is repaired, it can still be restored to the celestial sword grade."

Yuexi laughed and said, "The materials needed to repair a celestial sword are probably enough to buy a celestial sword. Moreover, the materials required must be the same as the material properties of the sword itself. Unless it is a very good sword, it will be reforged and repaired. Otherwise, very few swordsmiths will do such a thankless task."

Upon hearing this, the old man's eyes lit up: "Oh? Fairy, are you perhaps a master swordsmith?"

Yuexi smiled without saying a word.

The old man continued, "Therefore, we can only sell it as a spirit sword. Don't be fooled by its broken condition; it is still different from other spirit swords. Its most distinctive feature is the lightning and fire runes on it, making it the best choice for dealing with some evil spirits."

The old man, with his hands behind his back, stepped forward, picked up the sword, and continued speaking.

"That's why we're still selling it despite its damage. This sword will be useful when you're in various secret realms and special places."

Li Wunian directly exposed, "But if you need a weapon to ward off evil, why would you need a broken sword? The one above isn't bad, it has the same effect as the sword in your hand, and it's much better."

Li Wunian pointed to the Fiery Sword above, which had the same effect and was much better than the broken sword.

The old man from Baibaozhai put down his sword, chuckled twice, and showed no embarrassment whatsoever. He figured he could swindle whoever he could; if you didn't know your stuff, you'd just be a victim of a terrible scam.
