Chapter 46 Pretending to be a Couple

A virtuous person is happy, and good fortune follows.

Hearing the sound, Ji Yun turned his head and saw that the woman was wearing a white dress, as white as snow, gentle and lovely.

Yuexi was a little shy and asked with her head down, "How was it?"

Ji Yun stared wide-eyed and blurted out without hesitation.

"Truly, a fairy descended to earth."

"Smooth-talking, scumbag!"

"......"

Ji Yun had considered buying some nicer ones, but he knew that Yue Xi was rather conservative and not yet used to such changes, so they would have to take it slowly.

"Um, is the small garment suitable?"

Yuexi immediately felt embarrassed and wanted to get angry, but then she thought that the man in front of her probably didn't have any bad intentions.

"It's a little tight..."

Ji Yun nodded and sat on the sofa as if nothing had happened, but he was deeply shocked. It seemed that the situation was even more serious than he had imagined.

"I'll go out with you later and then buy you something else, but let me make it clear first, don't be shy, this is perfectly normal here."

"I...I know."

"Hmm, you'd better change your hairstyle. Never mind, it's fine as it is."

"oh."

Ji Yun led Yue Xi out the door, and there was a shopping plaza not far away.

I happened to pass by a milk tea shop.

Ji Yun asked, "Would you like some milk tea?"

"I'll listen to you."

Ji Yun looked at her, puzzled. Why was she being so obedient?

Actually, Yuexi was a little nervous. She had come to this unfamiliar place and was surrounded by people dressed in strange clothes.

Upon entering a milk tea shop, Ji Yun immediately ordered two cups of lemon tea.

He knew perfectly well that the woman next to him had never drunk anything before, so asking her would be pointless; she could just order any drink.

Ji Yun helped her insert the straw: "Here, take it."

"It's both sour and sweet, what kind of water is this?"

Ji Yun took a sip of the "lemon tea" and then added, "It's good for your complexion."

Upon hearing this, Yuexi's eyes lit up, and she took a big gulp.

The two strolled along the road, but the sidewalk was a bit of a hassle for them. The road was too narrow, and many electric bikes whizzed by, requiring them to swerve to avoid them from time to time.

Ji Yun said, "Let's go up the overpass to the shopping plaza over there."

"It's so bitter at the end," Yuexi pouted, but still finished it in one gulp.

Seeing this, Ji Yun chuckled to herself and said, "I'll get you something sweet next time."

“This one is perfect!” Yuexi said quickly.

"......"

Women are so easily fooled.

The two stood on the overpass, watching the cars go by below, while not far from them, a couple was embracing.

Yuexi turned her head and muttered, "Shameless!"

"......"

Ji Yun whispered, "This is normal. It's the same as between Daoist couples. Although it's in public, it's different here than on your end."

Yuexi couldn't help but steal another glance, then quickly turned back and said, "Where we live, feelings arise but are restrained by propriety."

"We here don't care about worldly opinions; we dare to love and hate."

Ji Yun paused for a moment, then took Yue Xi's hand and headed towards the shopping plaza.

"You...you let go." Yuexi struggled slightly.

"Don't move. I'm teaching you how to integrate into this world. The first step is for men and women to hold hands. This is something only couples do."

"But I don't want to be your girlfriend." Yuexi didn't break free and let the man pull her along.

“It’s alright, we can pretend to be a couple. This will help with your spiritual practice and allow you to understand the differences between the two worlds.”

“But…” Yuexi was a little uneasy.

Holding her hand, they walked slowly through the mall, where Yuexi was captivated by its magnificent sights.

The two of them slowly went from holding hands to clasping their hands together.

Ji Yun took her directly to the basement, where there were many delicious foods and various snacks.

The enticing aroma made Yuexi's mouth water. She pointed at the skewers and asked softly, "Can I eat these?"

Ji Yun said, "Okay, let's have some barbecue skewers."

Yuexi was dazzled by the variety of dishes; they all looked delicious.

"This one, and that one too, and this one as well..."

Ji Yun bought everything, and the two sat on the table to eat.

Watching Yuexi eat skewers, Ji Yun couldn't help but chuckle, noticing the condiments all over her lips.

Ji Yun couldn't help but pick up a tissue, wanting to help her wipe it.

"What?" Yuexi stopped eating her skewers.

"Let me wipe it for you, look, you've got food all over your mouth."

Ji Yun helped her wipe the sauce from the corner of her mouth.

Yuexi felt a little embarrassed, but then continued eating her skewers.

Yuexi ate her kebabs while looking around. She saw people around her watching videos on their phones.

Ji Yun noticed her gaze and explained, "This is a form of entertainment in modern society, where you can see all sorts of things."

Yuexi nodded as if she understood, but then a question suddenly came to her mind: "If we had cell phones in our world, wouldn't it be much more convenient?"

Ji Yun smiled, thinking to himself that this girl's thinking was really unconventional. He replied, "Your communication talismans are also acceptable, but they're not as convenient, can't provide real-time communication, and are rather limited in scope."

Yuexi tore off a meatball and ate it in one bite, asking indistinctly, "Yeah, where do we go after we finish eating?"

Just browsing around!

After finishing their barbecue skewers, Ji Yun and Yue Xi continued strolling around the mall.

They walked into a clothing store. Yuexi looked at the fashionable clothes, so many of them that she didn't know which one to choose.
