Perfect work of art

Perfect work of art

After a few days of recuperation, Fan Liye had roughly figured out the structure of the Pani area and knew where everything was. In the past few days, he would take Fan Jin out for a walk every day and memorize all the routes.

Compared to Pani, who was often out of sight, Bartholomew was more conscientious and responsible, practically always staying by Pani's side, explaining the route to him so he wouldn't get lost. It was just that Bartholomew seemed too fake, which made Pani a little uncomfortable.

Bartholomew always had a smile on his face. No matter when, where, or what happened, he never stopped smiling. He always had a faint smile on his face, which made Fan Liye feel that it was really fake.

"Where is Gregory?" Fan Liye put Fan Gene on his shoulder and finally asked about Pani's whereabouts.

Bartholomew smiled. He looked at Fan Jin on Fan Liye's shoulder and said calmly, "Young Master, you have been with this cat all the time. I thought you didn't care about your master."

"..." Fan Liye said helplessly, "This doesn't mean that I care about him."

Bartholomew paid no attention to this: "The master is in the king's house, in the council chamber."

Hearing this, Fan Liye became interested: "I've always been curious. The ancestors don't seem to interfere with each other. What is there that requires them to get together to discuss?"

"Of course there are." Bartholomew said, "Young Master has been in the house the whole time. He probably doesn't know that there will be conflicts among the ancestors."

"Internal strife?" Fan Liye said, "That... I'm not quite sure."

Bartholomew smiled and said, "The relationship between the ancestors wasn't very friendly, and they would even consider killing each other to elevate their status. To prevent the ancestors from fighting too much and causing death, the identity badges of the ancestral lineage were created. Within a certain range of the identity badge, they cannot cause fatal injuries to the badge's owner.

Similarly, the identity badge allows the owner to use their power unconditionally when they are exhausted and unable to resist, without having to name the power, acting as a last resort. For the First Ancestor, the identity badge is extremely important; it's something that can save their life."

Identity badge?

Speaking of which, when Fan Liye was still a Blood Hunter, he had heard Benjamin and Pani talk about the identity badge. He just didn't expect it to be so important. If it was so important, why did that guy give it to him in the first place?

For the so-called perfect work of art, people are really willing to spend it.

Fan Liye crossed his arms and looked at Bartholomew calmly. Although he would not throw away Pani's identity badge, he would not care if he forgot its existence. "So, what are they doing in the meeting hall? To resolve the internal strife?"

"Perhaps one of the ancestors hurt another, and the king punished them." Bartholomew answered honestly.

"Have you never thought about stopping the internal strife?" Fan Liye said helplessly, "What's the point of punishing them? It's just a waste of time."

Bartholomew glanced at Fan Liye and changed the subject, "I've heard from the Master before that the young master is plain but gentle, a very pure and beautiful person. But I think the young master has some bad qualities."

Hearing the word "things," Fan Liye frowned. It seemed that the master and servant didn't even consider him human. He snorted and laughed. The current disparity in strength between him and Pani was too great. There was nothing to refute, but at least he should know that Pani was not a soft persimmon that could be easily manipulated.

Before Fan Liye could say anything, Fan Jinn spoke first: "Bartholomew, don't you think your words are a bit overstepping the mark? You should know how your master treats my master. Even a dog should consider whether it is right to bite or not."

Fan Jinn jumped off Fan Liye's shoulders, transformed into a human, grabbed Bartholomew's shoulders, and smiled: "Thing? Should you use the word "thing" to describe my master?"

Bartholomew still had a smile on his face, his expression not changing at all because of Van Genn's words: "My master's perfect work of art. Of course I know how important he is to the master. I know very well."

Another perfect work of art.

Fan Liye tutted, and Fan Jinn quickly counterattacked: "What do you mean by your master? The master belongs to him. Who is Pani? How can he be so high up as to climb up to her?"

Bartholomew was about to say something when a voice interrupted them: "What are you talking about, my dear little sir."

Fan Liye turned around and looked at Pani who was walking towards him, but he looked away after just one glance. Fan Jien also rolled his eyes at Pani, then turned into a cat and jumped onto Fan Liye's shoulder, staring at him.

The atmosphere was not good. Pani ignored Fan Jian and Bartholomew, looked at Fan Liye who looked unhappy, and asked, "What's wrong? You don't look happy."

"It's a perfect work of art. Why do you care whether it's happy or not?" Fan Liye laughed. "You seem to be quite concerned about art?"

Pani was stunned for a moment, then pondered for a moment: "I remember that I have never described you like this before."

Fan Liye glanced at Bartholomew, said nothing, and left. Pani watched Fan Liye leave, then looked back at Bartholomew, roughly understanding what was going on. He said calmly, "Well done, you will get the punishment you deserve. Either stay away from the little gentleman or make him happy, or you know what I will do."

Bartholomew's expression did not change at all, he still smiled faintly: "Yes, Master."

Pani stopped talking nonsense with Bartholomew and quickly caught up with Fan Liye, smiling ingratiatingly beside him: "Young man, I have already told him that he will be punished."

"It has nothing to do with me." Fan Liye said lightly.

"How is your injury, young man? Do you want to change the medicine? I'll help you." Pani said with a smile.

Fan Liye glanced at Pani and said calmly, "Gregory, don't you think you're an eyesore?"

Pani was stunned. He was somewhat uncomfortable with Fan Liye's current personality. He should have ignored him before. Could vampire blood affect him so much?

But he started talking more, and although his words were unpleasant, I didn't find them annoying at all.

"I don't think so at all." Pani said, "Whatever you want to do, young master, I will accompany you."

Fan Liye had seen Pani's shamelessness before, so he chose to ignore her and pretend that she didn't exist.

"Are you feeling bored? Do you want me to take you out for a walk? Are you hungry? Do you want to eat..." Pani kept talking beside Fan Liye, which made him a little annoyed.

And Fan Jian, who had always disliked him, kept breathing at him.

"It's so noisy."

A feeling of irritation arose, and Fan Liye sighed. It seemed that he had caused irritation to a non-existent person.

"That's enough." Fan Liye interrupted Pani's muttering, "I'm going to rest."

After Fan Liye finished speaking, he quickly took Fan Jin back to the room and locked Pani, who had followed him, outside the door. He looked at the scepter placed beside the bed. The emblem inside had a flame pattern on it, just like Pani's ability.

What on earth was he thinking about, making up for his previous mistakes?

The betrayal had happened, and he would never forgive it.
