Chapter 5: Dr. Gu Yang is forced to inherit a billion-dollar fortune
Gu Yang is a specially appointed doctor at Yuncheng Mental Hospital. All the senior professors in the hospital treat her like a treasure. It is said that she is already a top psychologist in the industry at such a young age.
I heard that she is the daughter of the Gu family, a top family in the imperial capital. She only devotes herself to academic studies because of her love for psychology and doesn't care about the disputes among the wealthy families.
Before Gu Yang came to Yuncheng Mental Hospital, Shi Ling hated being locked up in the hospital. She felt very depressed and had to face other people's caring and idiotic eyes that she couldn't hide all day long.
But after Gu Yang took over, Shi Ling felt very comfortable, not feeling like a patient at all. Gu Yang seemed to treat her like a new friend, patiently listening and entering her absurd and bizarre world.
She was like a ray of light shining into the dark and damp ward. When you grabbed her, the world instantly became warm and bright.
Gu Yang sat down next to Shi Ling, "Why are you sitting here eating instant noodles alone?"
Shi Ling said quickly: "One bowl of instant noodles is not enough for two people, and half of it is scary."
Gu Yang was stunned for a moment, then couldn't help laughing, "You are still so funny."
Shi Ling laughed awkwardly twice, "Ah, I'm still so sick."
Gu Yang touched her head and asked, "How are you doing recently?"
Shi Ling felt a strong desire to confide in Gu Yang. He sighed and said, "Doctor Gu Yang, do you still remember the fake "True and False" story I showed you before?"
Gu Yang nodded. "I remember. It's quite long. I haven't finished reading it yet."
She usually deals with patients and rarely engages in entertainment such as reading novels, playing games and watching videos.
The reason why she read the fake novel of True and False Daughter was because Shi Ling was bored in the hospital and read a novel. She found that the vicious female supporting role in the novel, "Green Tea Fake Daughter", had the same name as her. Shi Ling found it curious and recommended this novel to her.
The strange thing was that it was just a common pseudonymous novel, but when she opened it, she felt a strange sense of fate that attracted her to read on carefully.
Shi Ling scooped up the crumbs from the instant noodle soup, "And then the novel came alive."
She briefly recounted what happened at the engagement party, and finally said, "The difference is that the intrigue between the real and fake daughters didn't happen in the Shi family. I was directly kicked out."
When Shi Ling told Gu Yang what happened to her, it was like sharing a piece of melon with a friend, without any sadness.
She grew up abroad and was brought back to Yuncheng for engagement when she came of age. She didn't have a deep relationship with her father and mother.
Gu Yang knew about Shi Ling's situation and knew that she was now a homeless little girl who had just come of age. He patted her head and said softly, "I'm going back to the capital in a few days. I have a house in Yuncheng. Why don't you move in?"
"Thank you, Dr. Gu Yang, you are such a beautiful and kind-hearted fairy!"
Shi Ling was touched. She didn't expect that the first person to lend a helping hand when she was down was Dr. Gu Yang.
She picked up the flyer on the table and waved it, smiling, "But no need, I've already found a place. It's a large single-family villa!"
Seeing this, Gu Yang smiled, not forcing it. However, when he noticed the word "haunted house", he asked doubtfully, "Aren't you always afraid of ghosts and monsters?"
Shi Ling looked up at the sky at a 45-degree angle, his eyes sad but bright: "I'm afraid of ghosts, but ghosts have never hurt me...so why should I be afraid of ghosts?"
She changed the subject to a playful tone, shrugged her shoulders, and smiled heartily at Gu Yang.

Shi Ling finished her instant noodle soup and smiled brightly, "Thank you, Doctor Gu Yang. Excuse me, why did you suddenly decide to return to the capital? Will you come to Yuncheng again in the future?"
Mentioning this, Gu Yang's smile faded a bit. "My father passed away and left a will asking me to return and inherit the family fortune. Most of our family businesses are in the imperial capital, so I'm afraid we'll rarely come to Yuncheng in the future."
