Chapter 61 The penultimate answer
Shi Ling whispered to Senior Apia, "I should have copied less. Yu Chen looks like the kind of guy who can sleep through his exams and still get full marks. If I suddenly improve too much, Huang Yafei will definitely be suspicious."
Senior Apia: "Don't worry, didn't you change some of your answers? It's not noticeable. Besides, you used to study liberal arts, and your homeroom teacher doesn't know how you did in science. Just wait for your big break and amaze the whole class!"
Senior Apia's tone was excited, and she was already waiting for Shi Ling's results to come out and slap Su Xingwan and others in the face.
"After a whole summer of fun, everyone has almost forgotten everything they learned. I knew everyone's grades wouldn't be ideal, but I didn't expect two of my classmates to give me such a big surprise."
After Huang Yafei said this, her eyes swept towards the corner of the back door.
"Yu Chen, Shi Ling!"
The two stood up at the same time.
Yu Chen still had the cold and calm expression of a big boss.
Shi Ling appeared calm on the outside, but he was also very nervous inside.
Oh shit, did she accidentally get second place in the class?
Huang Yafei smiled: "Yu Chen, what do you think of this exam?"
Yu Chen: "It's my first test, and I feel good."
Huang Yafei chuckled and looked at Shi Ling with a smile, "Shi Ling, don't you have anything to say?"
Shi Ling felt guilty and said, "Teacher, I performed exceptionally well this time."
"Oh, that's really an extraordinary performance."
Huang Yafei opened the PPT and projected a class report card. She zoomed to the end and saw Shi Ling and Yu Chen's names at the bottom.
As for Shi Ling, except for English and Chinese which were in the triple digits, her math and comprehensive science scores were in the single digits.
All added up, it's no more than two hundred and fifty! Even at Shi Ling's worst moments, it wasn't this tragic!
And Yu Chen was even worse, with zeros in Math, Science, and English, and only a barely 90 in Chinese?!
She, the second-to-last student, actually copied the answer from the last-to-last student?!
Shi Ling felt as if he had been stabbed in the back. He looked at Yu Chen in front of him in disbelief, and his resentful eyes seemed to want to burn a hole in his back.
The senior student next to him was even more confused: "How is it possible... I saw that he had filled it all up, how come it's all wrong? It's a good thing you didn't copy it all..."
The whole class was trying to hold back their laughter when they saw the report card.
Luo Yuan looked at Shi Ling in amazement. Seeing her eyes filled with resentment and anger, she took her hand and patted it gently, whispering comfortingly, "It's okay. It's just a test at the beginning of the semester. You didn't perform well this time. Just work harder next time. I'll help you."
Shi Ling had mixed feelings: "...Thank you."
Huang Yafei didn't let them sit down either. She pointed at the two lines of test scores projected on the screen and sneered, "Look carefully, both of you. Are these scores decent? They're over 200 points lower than Fang Songzhao, who's third from the bottom! Even if I threw my answer sheet on the ground and stepped on it, I'd still score higher than you!"
Shi Ling lowered his head.
She was guilty; she shouldn't have cheated. As expected, even if no one knew about the bad things she did, there would be no good consequences. Bad causes lead to bad consequences; this is the cycle of cause and effect.
Senior Sister Apia listened to the other students mocking Shi Ling and lined up with Shi Ling, lowering her head and confessing in the same tone: "I am guilty. I shouldn't have encouraged you to cheat. There's nothing wrong with wanting good grades, but you have to rely on your own hard work to get them, not on these crooked ways..."
