Chapter 46: Give Her to Anyone

Mo Yunfan stood in front of the car, his sharp jaw slightly lowered, his eyes fixed on the ground, his black hair meticulously combed behind his head, but a few strands of hair had fallen on his forehead at some point.

It landed on the man's superior forehead.

He seemed a little distant and out of place here.

Even the black car with its smooth and elegant lines seemed to be separated from this place by a layer.

Wen Jingyi paused, put down the bamboo curtain in her hand, and waited for Zhou Jingrui to come out before walking towards Mo Yunfan together.

She was in a complicated mood: "Why didn't you go back first?"

"I just happened to be passing by."

He wasn't surprised to see the two of them coming out together, and said calmly, "I saw you guys inside when I passed by, so I just waited for you after I finished my business."

What kind of business would require coming to a noodle shop in such a small alley...

Wen Jingyi saw through it but didn't say anything, feeling helpless: "Sorry to have kept you waiting. Why don't you go wait in the car? It's getting colder outside."

But feeling the slightly cool weather outside, and the refreshing coolness on the man's body, who had obviously been waiting for a long time, Wen Jingyi felt warm in her heart.

"I just came out." Mo Yunfan comforted her: "Send you back now?"

Her heart softened, and a hint of guilt flashed across her mind.

So he took the initiative to shake Mo Yunfan's hand, turned around and invited Zhou Jingrui: "My boyfriend is here, let's take you back together, and it's a good opportunity to see if there is anything you need."

I had met Zhou Jingrui twice at home before, and he seemed to often live with his adoptive parents.

Wen Jingyi couldn't open Zhou Jingrui's door, so she never went in to check and didn't know whether he actually lived there.

You can't have been living in her house for all these years, right?

Zhou Jingrui's eyes casually swept over the two people's clasped hands.

His indifferent eyes lightly fell on the expensive luxury car.

His face remained expressionless, he raised his fingertips slightly and smiled faintly: "No, this place is not far from home, I want to take a walk and look around."

"It's getting late."

But it was Mo Yunfan who took the initiative to speak.

He held Wen Jingyi's shoulders, his eyes fell on Zhou Jingrui coldly, but he sounded very sincere:

"Jingyi has always cared about you. You just got out of the hospital, and she's worried about you being out there alone. Let's go shopping again next time we have a chance."

"You are Jingyi's old friend, we should treat you well."

Wen Jingyi couldn't help but laugh when she saw Mo Yunfan was actually being polite to others in a serious manner.

I had no choice but to cooperate: "Let's go back together. It's getting late. It's not very safe here at night. Many alleys don't have surveillance."

The two invited him so warmly that Zhou Jingrui could no longer refuse: "Then I'll trouble you. I'll show Mr. Mo the way."

"No trouble," Mo Yunfan said without turning his head, "I know the way."

Zhou Jingrui sat in the back and stopped talking.

Mo Yunfan came alone. The driver had already left, and Wen Jingyi sat in the passenger seat while he was driving.

As soon as she got in the car, Wen Jingyi silently turned her face away, looked out the window and tried to suppress her smile.

I always feel that in the scene just now, Mo Yunfan inexplicably had a bit of a subtle display of sovereignty.

"Enough of laughing."

After a while, a cold voice came from the side. Mo Yunfan's tone was as cold as always: "Very funny?"

“…No.”

Wen Jingyi coughed lightly and put away her smile, but the soft smile that remained at the corners of her lips and the joy in the corners of her eyes and eyebrows still showed through.

Mo Yunfan sighed helplessly.

Naturally, he didn't expect that such a clumsy lie as just passing by could fool Wen Jingyi. He even doubted whether Wen Jingyi would just leave given her personality.

I feel like I've crossed a line.

But fortunately, the result of the test was satisfactory and she seemed to accept it.

Since Wen Jingyi doesn't mind his occasional possessiveness, Mo Yunfan naturally doesn't care what Zhou Jingrui is thinking behind her.

"arrive."

The car passed Zhou Jingrui's apartment building first. He spoke in time and thanked Wen Jingyi in a gentle tone: "I'm sorry to bother you today. I'll come to your house to see you another day."

Mo Yunfan's face darkened again.

He coldly observed the distance between Wen Jingyi and Zhou Jingrui's residences.

There were only five apartment buildings between the two of them. From here, one could even see the side of Wen Jingyi's building.

Even if we visit each other, it only takes a few minutes.

He clicked his tongue silently, tapped the car window with his fingertips, and squinted at the two people who were saying goodbye to Zhou Jingrui.

No wonder the two have a good relationship.

Now it seems that they can indeed be called childhood sweethearts.

Mo Yunfan snorted coldly, got out of the car and walked to Wen Jingyi's side, placing one hand on Wen Jingyi's waist: "Do you want to invite friends to your home?"

There was a moment of silence.

Zhou Jingrui looked at the intimate actions of the two with a strange expression.

He was the first to react, suppressing his surprise. He shook his head and smiled calmly, saying, "No, I've already disturbed Jingyi enough today. There's no need to rush."

Immediately, I felt bitter.

He could somewhat understand why the two of them were together.

After all, I wasn't the only one who had a hard time during my time in the nursing home.

Wen Jingyi is facing the danger of her adoptive parents' death, and she is struggling to investigate the truth.

This is the darkest and most important memory for Wen Jingyi, and Mo Yunfan was with her almost entirely.

Even... because of my existence, Wen Jingyi had a lot more things to worry about for no reason.

He did not deny that Mo Yunfan was taking advantage of the situation.

But there is no way to blame the two of them.

Especially when Wen Jingyi was in such a difficult situation, it was not me who stood by her.

If I hadn't been thinking about safety all the time and hadn't hidden in a sanatorium, perhaps the result would have been different...

Zhou Jingrui was lost in thought. When he came to his senses, Wen Jingyi was whispering something to Mo Yunfan again.

His eyes accidentally met Mo Yunfan's.

Suddenly, Mo Yunfan leaned over and placed one hand behind Wen Jingyi's ear.

Caught off guard, he placed a restrained kiss just below the corner of Wen Jingyi's lips.

He glanced at Zhou Jingrui coldly from the corner of his eye and said to Wen Jingyi in a low voice, "Aren't you angry?"

"Will you be happy if I'm angry?"

Wen Jingyi was helpless.

She didn't understand where Mo Yunfan's hostility towards Zhou Jingrui came from, but she could also see that Mo Yunfan was once again emphatically declaring his sovereignty.

But he didn't say anything, instead he cooperated and said, "Can you rest assured now?"

The atmosphere between the two was just right. Zhou Jingrui felt a sharp pain in his heart, and there seemed to be an unspeakable fire stuck in his throat.

He took a deep breath and decided not to bother the two people anymore.

But Zhou Jingrui was about to go upstairs, and without waiting for the voice-controlled light to turn on, he stood in the dim corridor and looked out.

Looking directly at Mo Yunfan for the first time today, he asked frankly, "Boss Mo, can you take good care of her? Can I trust you?"

"I don't need anyone to trust me."

Mo Yunfan frowned and said unhappily, "No matter who raises any doubts, I will not hand Jingyi over to anyone."
