Chapter 9: Entering the Hospital

After being found and brought home for so many years, Wen Jingyi's note for Mrs. Wen has always been just the three words "Mrs. Wen".

At first, she also tried to get along well with the Wen family like Bai Mengqiu did.

But first of all, Wen Jingyi is not a piece of shit. She can feel the Wen family's alienation towards her. Naturally, a blood relationship alone cannot compare to Bai Mengqiu, who has been pampered and cherished by them for so many years.

But thinking back on it, I actually tried to please the Wen family and greeted their harsh criticisms with a smile. How could this not be considered a betrayal of my adoptive parents?

Her adoptive parents also raised her as a treasure...

When Wen Jingyi thought of her adoptive mother, her nose felt sore again. After wiping the moisture from the corners of her eyes, she directly rejected Mrs. Wen's request for her to come to her house.

Since there is no fate of being part of this family, there is no need for her to force herself to fit in.

Who would have thought that Mrs. Wen would come to visit that afternoon.

"What are you doing here?"

Wen Jingyi frowned. This was the Shen family. She came here to accompany the old lady today and especially didn't want Madam Wen to cause any unpleasantness.

She glanced at the sleeping old lady, feeling a little relieved. She closed the door and was about to take Madam Wen out: "Madam Wen came to see me specially, is there something urgent?"

At one point, the Wen family even forgot about her existence during the Chinese New Year, and only remembered the next day that they had not invited her to the New Year's Eve party.

Unfortunately, even on the second day of the Lunar New Year, Wen Jingyi was unable to enter the Wen family's gate.

I'm afraid none of them remembered that Wen Jingyi had a high fever at that time and had been on an IV drip in the hospital for several days.

Thinking of these past events, Wen Jingyi did not hate her, but she was cold towards Mrs. Wen.

"How dare you talk to your own mother like that..."

Mrs. Wen muttered softly, finally suppressing the displeasure and pickyness on her face, remembering that she had something to ask of someone today.

So he awkwardly stopped bossing Wen Jingyi around and tried to adjust the relationship between mother and daughter first.

"Jingyi," she frowned, feeling unhappy, "You've been home for so long. You've seen how much Mom wants you to integrate into this family."

Wen Jingyi has never seen it.

What she saw was that the Wen family had been deliberately ignoring her existence, as if this could maintain their originally happy family of three.

Deep down in their hearts, the Wen family may have always hated themselves.

Jiemin's appearance disrupted the lives of their family of three.

It was getting late, and Wen Jingyi didn't plan to stay overnight at the Shen family. After checking the time, she said to Madam Wen, "Madam Wen, I have something else tonight, so please keep it short."

"you!"

"Is this your upbringing?"

Mrs. Wen was already angry about the fact that she had to come to see Wen Jingyi in person.

Seeing that she was actually impatient, he immediately exploded, and said in a stern voice, "When will you put away this petty, poor family air? You've been so stern for so long, do you think we owe you anything?"

When she saw Wen Jingyi, she couldn't help but feel a surge of anger in her heart.

No matter whether Wen Jingyi used to be humble and compliant, as if she had a good relationship with her family, or now she looks so stubborn, Mrs. Wen couldn't help but scold her when she saw her.

Madam Wen grabbed Wen Jingyi and asked her, but her tone was like alms. "I heard that you've been close to Mr. Mo from Xingyun recently. This is a great opportunity. Don't miss it. Find a chance to talk to him about Ze Rui."

"This matter concerns your sister's future family. If you handle it well, it will also bring honor to your sister and make Mengqiu respected in the Shen family in the future."

Naturally, she could never pamper her precious daughter enough.

Mrs. Wen never thought about what these words meant to Wen Jingyi.

When she got married and was humiliated, the Wen family avoided her as much as possible, and no one blamed Shen Zerui for running away from marriage.

It was only after Shen Zekai defended him many times that the Wen family finally restrained themselves a little, at least they stopped openly criticizing him.

Thinking of Shen Zekai, Wen Jingyi felt empty in her heart again.

She quickly came back to her senses and said calmly, "Boss Mo and I are not familiar with each other. You should let them handle the company's affairs on their own."

"Why are you so ungrateful?"

Mrs. Wen frowned tightly, took a deep breath in displeasure, and said to Wen Jingyi patiently:

"I know you have resentment towards your family and feel that we have treated you unfairly. But you should also understand us as your parents. Is it our responsibility to lose you—"

"Mrs. Wen."

Wen Jingyi lowered her eyes and interrupted her, chuckling softly, "I don't think I've ever said that I resent you."

She just understood that the Wen family did not accept her.

As for what Mrs. Wen would say...

"Is it possible that you've been so bothered by my attitude because deep down you know you've been unfair to me, and you're actually afraid that I really hate you?"

Wen Jingyi had wanted to have a frank talk with Mrs. Wen about these things for a long time.

I didn't expect it to be at this time.

She sighed and said with relief, "I don't resent you, so Madam Wen, don't feel resentment on my behalf. You can just pamper Bai Mengqiu with peace of mind. I won't say anything."

Mrs. Wen didn't know whether she couldn't hear it or was subconsciously unwilling to admit it. Upon hearing this, she asked, "Are you still resentful of us for doting on Meng Qiu?"

"As your older sister, why can't you be more sensible? You don't act like my daughter at all..."

Mrs. Wen suddenly paused, realizing that she had let the cat out of the bag, and her expression became a little embarrassed.

"You are right. I am indeed not your daughter."

Wen Jingyi slowly shook her head, not surprised by her inner thoughts: "I have another mother. Although she passed away early, she also loved me sincerely. I know how to treat people who don't care about me."

That is leaving.

She could love herself.

After saying that, Wen Jingyi got up with her bag and left, without any attachment to the Shen family or Mrs. Wen.

Madam Wen, looking at Wen Jingyi's back, slowly covered her chest with her hands and coughed painfully, "Unfilial daughter, unfilial daughter, you might as well give birth to an ungrateful wolf..."

How could she have given birth to such an unpleasant daughter!

Wen Jingyi received a call from 'Chen Zerui' on the way.

Looking at the three words "brother-in-law" on the note, Wen Jingyi felt it was ridiculous and hung up the phone neatly, thinking that she should move out of the Shen family's old house as soon as possible.

It's not her style to keep having any connection.

Who knew that as soon as she got out of the car, Wen Jingyi saw Shen Zekai, who had a sullen face and was waiting at the door, obviously blocking her.

"You finally came back."

With disappointment in his eyes, he questioned Wen Jingyi: "Mrs. Wen came to see you today, and now she is so angry that she has to be hospitalized. Do you have anything to say?"

Wen Jingyi paused, frowning slightly. She had never heard that Mrs. Wen was in poor health.

Shen Zekai was determined and blocked Wen Jingyi's way outside the door, refusing to let her leave. "You sent Madam Wen to the hospital, and Meng Qiu was so upset she almost fainted from crying. Come with me and apologize now."
