Chapter 47 Misunderstanding

Wen Yanci is working in the study.

Lin Xuqiu was wearing a suspender nightgown, lying on the sofa in the study, applying a facial mask, and browsing her Moments on her tablet.

Lin Xuqiu seldom posts on WeChat Moments, checking it only once every two weeks, just for fun.

The contents are more or less the same. Men will forward articles about national affairs, financial reports, technological innovations, and other stylish articles, while rich wives or daughters will post pictures of their gatherings and affection.

People hardly show off their wealth because everyone in the circle is rich and showing it off would make them seem unsophisticated. What they show off is their vision and connections. Occasionally, you can still come across an interesting soul.

Lin Xuqiu was bored and scrolling through the circle of friends when she suddenly saw a post from Lin Xi two days ago. It was a family photo at the dinner table with the caption "In Mom and Dad's hearts, I will always be the irreplaceable person."

In the photo, Lin Xi smiled sweetly and looked very happy, while her parents looked at her lovingly.

There was a time on the photo, showing that it was taken two days ago. Lin Xuqiu couldn't help but feel sour in his heart, and inexplicably felt betrayed.

Because of the need to recognize their relatives, Lin Xi sent a friend request to Lin Xuqiu, and Lin Xuqiu clicked on it indifferently.

The two barely chatted.

Lin Xuqiu had never seen Lin Xi's circle of friends, and she had forgotten that this person was in her friend list.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt something was wrong. How could Lin Xi dare to post something like this on her Moments so blatantly? Wasn't she afraid that Luo Hanshuang and the people around her would see it?

No one liked this circle of friends. They obviously have mutual friends. When Lin Xi posted on Moments, there would always be one or two mutual friends who would like it.

Therefore, Lin Xi's circle of friends was probably set to be visible only to Lin Xuqiu, and Lin Xi must have deliberately posted this kind of text to anger her.

Lin Xuqiu was indeed pissed off, and angrily threw the tablet onto the carpet with a loud "bang".

Wen Yanci looked up at Lin Xuqiu and asked in confusion.

"Xuqiu, what's wrong? Did someone upset you?"

"Lin Xi posted a circle of friends that only I could see to annoy me."

"What did she post?"

"Come and see for yourself."

Wen Yanci walked up to her, squatted down to pick up the tablet thrown on the ground, opened it and took a look, then clicked on the screen.

After seeing his actions, Lin Xuqiu wanted to take the tablet back.

"Hey, what are you doing? Are you replying?"

"Um."

Wen Yanci returned the tablet to her.

Lin Xuqiu took the tablet and immediately went to see what he replied.

She saw the two words "Read" written in the reply column.

"Replying to this means I've seen it, and she'll be even more proud."

"You are the only one visible to her Moments. She already expected you to see it. Instead of saying nothing, it's better to reply openly and let her guess your attitude."

Lin Xuqiu suddenly raised the corners of his lips with a wicked smile.

"I didn't expect that Young Master Wen is also good at being sarcastic."

Wen Yanci sat on the sofa and took Lin Xuqiu into his arms, with Lin Xuqiu sitting astride his lap.

"Xuqiu, if you don't like someone, just delete them. There's no need to keep them to yourself."

"Originally I could have just deleted it, but now I can't. I'll have to post it on WeChat Moments to annoy her."

"When did you two become enemies?"

Lin Xuqiu felt aggrieved when she thought about it. Why did Lin Xi put all the blame on her?

"I originally had no hostility towards her, but she helped Lin Yuwei accuse me at the last dinner, so I showed her the heirloom bracelet my grandmother gave me to provoke her."

"It wasn't my fault that our identities were swapped. I was also a victim. I could have grown up happily in my own home and had my own hobbies."

"But now it seems that Lin Xi is putting the blame on me. She thinks I took advantage of her status as a wealthy daughter and that I owe her something, so she hates me."

Wen Yanci's eyes darkened.

"Xuqiu, you're not wrong in this matter. Stay away from Lin Xi from now on. If she tries to hurt you, you must tell me immediately, understand?"

"Not really. She and I probably just have a few small fights like this, and we're not enemies."

"Xuqiu, don't take things too lightly. You should always be on guard against others. Promise me that no matter what happens, tell me first."

"All right."

Lin Xuqiu looked at the man in front of him and suddenly asked.

"Yan Ci, if Lin Xi had come back before we got married, maybe she would have been your wife."

"Xu Qiu, I've already answered this question before. I don't have to marry the eldest daughter of the Lin family, but I'm willing to marry her because she's you."

Lin Xuqiu was originally sitting astride the man's thighs. She suddenly bent her legs, pushed the man to the back of the sofa, and put her hands on his shoulders. She knelt and looked down at the man in front of her.

The two of them were very close, their breaths mingling.

Wen Yanci held the woman's slender waist with his big hand.

"Husband, are you attracted to me because of your beauty?"

Wen Yanci's eyes were evasive and his answer was vague.

"Since we are already married, there is no need to dwell on the past."

"But I just really want to know. You shouldn't be short of beautiful women around you. I don't believe you will marry me just because I'm pretty."

Wen Yanci turned from defense to offense, kissed the chattering little mouth and ended the topic.

Lin Xuqiu's resistance was ineffective.

A room full of beauty.

*

Lin Xi had just finished work in the studio. He took out his phone to check his Moments and saw the word "read". He couldn't help but frown.

She stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in the studio, looking at the tall buildings and neon lights outside, and couldn't help but fall into memories.
