Chapter 257 Give Me Another Chance
When Xu Yousheng rushed to the clinic, Qin Yanzheng was sitting on a stainless steel round stool in the room, leaning against the wall and dozing off. He had his hands on the table beside him and was on an IV drip, looking out of place and miserable.
"Auntie Liu." Xu Yousheng greeted the woman next to her. Auntie Liu was a doctor at the clinic. She lived behind the clinic and had watched her grow up since she was a child.
Aunt Liu saw her coming, glanced back, and briefly explained the situation: "The young man has a stomach problem. There is no equipment here to check. I prescribed some medicine for him, which may relieve the symptoms, but it is best to go to a large hospital."
"He insisted on staying here, saying he was your friend, so I had to call you."
Xu Yousheng glanced at him. Qin Yanxiu, who was eavesdropping on their conversation, immediately looked away when he saw this.
"Excuse me, Aunt Liu."
"It's okay. He still has one bottle left after this one. Please keep an eye on him. He should eat a light diet these few days and avoid eating oily or spicy food."
"good."
Xu Yousheng walked up to Qin Yanxiu. His long legs were slightly bent. The tall man looked very cramped in this simple and narrow room.
He raised his eyes to look at her: "You are here."
Xu Yousheng had trotted all the way over and was still a little out of breath, but she still kept a cold face when she faced him: "Call Xiao Li and ask him to pick you up."
Qin Yanxiu's eyes flashed with disappointment, but he quickly concealed it. He said weakly, "Don't you even care about me?"
Xu Yousheng lowered her eyes and looked at him. His face was pale and there was a little sweat on his forehead. He really had a stomachache. She said expressionlessly, "The clinic can only treat colds, fevers, headaches, and other symptoms. You should go back to South City."
"I'm not going back." Qin Yanxiu said, "The scenery here is beautiful and the air is fresh. I want to spend my vacation here."
"Then it seems that you are fine. I will go back first."
"Don't……"
Qin Yanxiu reached out and grabbed her wrist.
Xu Yousheng frowned: "Your hand!"
Qin Yanxiu looked down and saw that he had pulled the IV tube too quickly, causing the needle to go slightly off course. He ignored it and instead tightened his grip: "Don't leave."
Xu Yousheng looked at the blood flowing back into the syringe, frowning: "Let go first."
"I won't let you go unless you say you won't leave."
Xu Yousheng was furious, but couldn't get angry. He took a deep breath and said, "I'm not leaving."
Qin Yanxiu then slowly let go of his hand.
Xu Yousheng called Aunt Liu from the next room to come out and adjust the needle for him.
"Put your hands on the table and don't move."
"good."
Xu Yousheng found a stool and sat down beside him. He looked at the drops of medicine dripping down and said slowly, "What on earth do you want to do?"
If he continues like this, the whole village will know.
Qin Yanxiu raised his eyes and looked at her. The corners of his eyes were a little red, his lips were pale, and he looked weak. "I just want to be closer to you. I will stay here as long as you stay."
"I know I said a lot of nonsense before. If you don't calm down, you can pour two more bowls of chili peppers into me. Just don't resist me like this."
Xu Yousheng's heart suddenly shrank and her eyelashes trembled slightly.
She could remain uncompromising in the face of Qin Yanxiu's strength and threats, but when he apologized and showed weakness like this, she felt at a loss as to what to do.
“Shengsheng…”
With a soft call, she suddenly came back to her senses, moved her fingers slightly, slowly raised her head, and looked directly into his eyes.
She whispered, "I'm not angry."
Everything that happened before was her own will. Because she cared about him and loved him, she felt sad and upset about what he said.
He was not wrong, he just didn't love her.
Everything was beyond her expectations.
"It's just that I'm tired now, I've let it go, and I don't want to dwell on it anymore."
Qin Yanxiu felt a tightness in his chest, as if he was entangled by countless vines, causing him to feel stiff, sore and swollen.
He would rather she be angry with him, annoyed him, beat him and scold him, than be so quiet and unfamiliar with him.
This would give him a sense of panic that he couldn't grasp.
"Shengsheng," he said with difficulty, his throat was hard, "Don't be like this."
"Just treat me as a suitor, okay?"
"Give me a chance."
Xu Yousheng tightened her fingers little by little, she looked down at her toes and did not answer.
Time passed by minute by minute, and the room was eerily quiet. After an unknown amount of time, Xu Yousheng looked up at the medicine bottle and stood up. "The infusion is finished. I'll call Aunt Liu to help you remove the needle."
After the infusion, Aunt Liu prescribed some medicine and gave some instructions.
"Which store do you live in?"
There are occasional tourists in the village, but not many, so there is only one homestay and two small hotels.
"The one at the entrance of the village."
Xu Yousheng walked forward without thinking: "I'll take you home."
Qin Yanxiu followed behind her. The village street lights shone on the cement road, stretching the shadows of the two people one in front and one behind.
At the intersection, Qin Yanxiu caught up with her in a few steps and grabbed her wrist: "I can find the way. I'll take you back first."
Xu Yousheng broke free from his hand: "Since you're well now, there's no need for me to watch over you. Let's go home."
After saying that, she ignored him and walked back along the cobblestone road.
Qin Yanxiu looked at her figure, paused, then followed her, keeping a few steps away from her.
At this time in the village, most people are asleep. Occasionally, you can see lights coming from the rooms, and occasionally there are a few dogs barking. The waves are lapping against the beach, and the light moonlight is shining down. It is quiet and beautiful.
Xu Yousheng didn't look back all the way. After arriving home, he went straight into the yard and closed the door.
Qin Yanxiu stood at the gate of the courtyard, watching her enter the house. Hearing a low conversation coming from inside the house, he stood there with his head down for a while before turning around and leaving.
