Chapter 35 Like it or not, it doesn’t matter

Chapter 35 Like it or not, it doesn’t matter

Cen Wan was walking back through the corridor when she ran into Jiang Yunlan who was looking for her with her cell phone in hand.

The two of them paused.

Jiang Yunlan's eyes fell on the black suit jacket on Cen Wan, the same one that Shen Yixiao had just worn. A hint of jealousy flashed in her eyes.

She quickly adjusted her mood and asked with a smile, "Where did Miss Cen go? Did you get caught in the rain?"

Cen Wan smiled politely: "I just took a stroll. Fortunately, the rain wasn't too heavy just now."

Jiang Yunlan looked outside. The rain was getting heavier. The shadows of the trees were swaying, and the cool breeze blew raindrops onto people. The ground under the corridor was also wet.

"That's good. Have you seen Yixiao?" She said vaguely, "It's a little late. I think..."

She looked up and saw Cen Wan staring blankly at the rainy night outside. Her heart was choked with worry: "Miss Cen?"

"Ah?" Cen Wan came back to her senses. "Sorry, are you asking about Mr. Chen?"

"We just met in the garden, but I don't know where we are now."

Jiang Yunlan clenched her nails tightly together, still smiling: "Then I'll go find him. I'm leaving first. See you at the company."

Jiang Yunlan turned and walked towards the garden. Cen Wan pulled her coat closer, smelling the familiar scent. Her eyes couldn't help but look towards the dark rainy night, thinking of that tall and straight figure.

He should have gone to hide from the rain, right?

I'm not a fool. In such heavy rain, even a dog would know to hide under the eaves.

Not to mention Shen Yixiao.

She shook her head, forcing herself not to think about him.

When they returned to the chess and card room, Jiang Yuan and Ji Yuanchen were already drinking. The two of them were arm in arm, looking like good brothers.

Seeing Cen Wan come back, Jiang Yuan brushed off Ji Yuanchen's hand on her shoulder with disdain, put down his wine glass, looked at the clothes on her shoulders, and raised his eyebrows slightly: "You're back?"

"Drink, keep drinking!"

Cen Wan looked at Ji Yuanchen, whose face was flushed and he was already drunk, and cast a questioning look at Jiang Yuan.

Jiang Yuan snatched the wine glass from his hand and replaced it with a glass of water for him: "Drink this, this wine is stronger."

Ji Yuanchen raised the white water: "Okay, let's do it!"

Jiang Yuan stood up and stretched his neck: "This silly boy insisted on becoming my sworn brother."

Cen Wan: "What happened to you?"

"What you said is ridiculous," Jiang Yuan raised her red lips slightly, "I just praised him a few times, and he treated me as a close friend. It's my personality charm, there's nothing I can do about it."

"This kid is lucky to be born in the Ji family, otherwise he would be cheated out of everything in a minute."

Cen Wan looked at Ji Yuanchen, who was sitting on the ground with his back against the sofa. She turned and called a servant to the door, "Your young master is drunk. Sober him up and keep an eye on him."

The servant walked in, took a look, and quickly called the housekeeper.

Jiang Yuan walked over to Cen Wan, looked at the servant who was leaving quickly, and crossed his arms: "Why do you care about him so much? Do you love him so much that you love his dog too?"

Cen Wan looked at her helplessly: "Stop making trouble."

"Where did you get this coat? Don't tell me a kind stranger gave it to you."

Cen Wan glanced down, her slender fingers clutching the hem of her clothes: "He gave it to me."

"It's raining, let's go back."

Jiang Yuan stopped teasing her, took the umbrella from the door and left.

Jiang Yuan was drunk and Cen Wan was driving the car.

Ten minutes had passed as the little pink pineapple slowly moved out of the parking space.

Jiang Yuan leaned back on the passenger seat and tugged at his seatbelt. "Damn it! Why did I drink? If only God could give me another chance to start over..."

“…I would still choose to drink.”

Cen Wan concentrated on steering the wheel and carefully slipped away from the crowd of luxury cars.

After they were on the road, she glanced at her sideways and said, "I'd rather go slower. If we hit any other car, we'll both be broke for the rest of the year."

Jiang Yuan: "You're right."

Little Pineapple was moving at a speed of fifty kilometers per hour. Jiang Yuan looked at the cars speeding past the window, looked at Cen Wan who had a cold and focused expression, and lay down completely.

"Wan, there's no need to be so slow."

Cen Wan has her own pace: "It's raining, the mountain road will be slippery, go slowly and it's safer."

Jiang Yuan: “…”

"Okay, you're the one who controls the steering wheel. You have the final say."

Thinking of the information he had gotten from Ji Yuanchen that night, Jiang Yuan moved closer to her, looking gossipy: "Where did you go tonight? And you came back wearing his clothes."

Cen Wan held the steering wheel with both hands, looking straight ahead: "We chatted for a while in the garden, and when it started to rain, he gave me his clothes."

There were a few big words written on Jiang Yuan’s face: Do you think I believe it?

"From what I saw tonight, it doesn't seem like his ex-boyfriend hates you to the core. On the contrary, he seems to be brooding over you and feeling resentful."

"Which ex who has never spoken to each other for a long time would give a job, a stone, and a coat?"

Cen Wan's fingers gripping the steering wheel tightened little by little, and scenes from their reunion flashed through her mind.

It is said that Shen Yixiao still has feelings for her. He spoke harshly to her, mocked her mercilessly, threw the things she wanted off the cliff, and left her on the mountain.

Even if he hated herself, he still gave her the stone in the end, came back to pick her up, and gave her his coat. So far, he has never done anything to really hurt her.

Sometimes she couldn't tell what Shen Yixiao was trying to do and what his attitude towards her was now.

I thought we would never meet again after breaking up, but we met again and again and got entangled with each other.

Cen Wan was also very confused.

Jiang Yuan looked at her. She knew why Cen Wan broke up with her. Although they were not in the same city during college, she had heard some things about them from Cen Wan.

During that time, her good friend was like soaking in a honey pot, as if she had become a different person.

But before she could meet the person, a series of events happened and the two broke up.

Cen Wan began to become cold and indifferent again, withdrawing herself into her shell.

Because he was afraid that she would be sad, Jiang Yuan never mentioned this matter until Shen Yixiao appeared.

Jiang Yuan looked at Cen Wan's calm profile and asked the question he had always wanted to ask: "Wan Wan, do you still... like him?"

Cen Wan suddenly clenched her fingers, her eyes still fixed on the road ahead, but her heart was filled with turmoil.

Do you still like him?

Cen Wan had never thought about this problem, because breaking up was never due to lack of love.

The vehicles slowly merged into the main road. On the rainy night, there was a long line of vehicles on the road. The horns behind kept urging people to drive, and rain flowed down the car windows.

While waiting for the red light, Cen Wan turned to look at Jiang Yuan, her expression showing a bit of fragility and self-mockery.

"It doesn't matter whether you like it or not."
