Chapter 44 Brother Yi, why don’t you go in?
The moment Shen Yixiao caught Cen Wan, he realized that his hands were shaking.
She fell into his arms like that, her little face was pale, her lips were bloodless, and she looked pale and fragile.
When he saw her appearance clearly, his pupils trembled violently, and his heart felt like it was being tightly grasped by a large hand. The feeling of aching and suffocating was about to overwhelm him.
The hair on her forehead and temples was soaked with sweat, sticking to her face. Her once fair face was now dirty, covered in sweat, mud, and even traces of blood.
The clothes at his knees and elbows were covered in mud and stained with fallen leaves and dead branches. When his eyes fell on the leg that was simply bandaged, his heart seemed to skip a beat.
All this hints at what she has been through.
Shen Yixiao stretched out his hand, not even daring to touch her face.
Why hadn't he found her sooner?
The search and rescue dog at his feet bit Cen Wan's trouser leg and tugged at it, barking softly, and the rescue workers behind him also followed.
Even though she was unconscious, she was frowning and her body was shivering. It was unknown how many injuries she had on her body.
Shen Yixiao picked her up sideways and rushed to the hospital without stopping.
In the hospital corridor, the smell of disinfectant wafted into my nose, and the cold and bright lights above my head were dazzling.
Shen Yixiao leaned against the wall, his body as stiff as a sculpture.
Jiang Yuan clenched his fingers tightly and walked back and forth anxiously in the corridor, looking inside constantly.
Ji Yuanchen felt dizzy from her spinning around, but he didn't dare to speak. The atmosphere in the corridor reached freezing point.
The doctor was giving Cen Wan a full body examination. After a long wait, she was pushed out.
The doctor took the list and took off his mask before saying, "The patient suffered a minor concussion from a head injury. She needs to be hospitalized for a week of observation. She also has mild hypothermia. Fortunately, she was brought in in time. When she wakes up, I'll feed her something high in calories."
"For tibia and fibula fractures, conservative treatment is recommended. Just rest after applying a plaster cast. There are no other major problems."
After the doctor finished speaking, Jiang Yuan couldn't wait to ask, "Can I go in and see her now?"
"Can."
After getting a positive answer, Jiang Yuan went straight to the ward.
Cen Wan had woken up and was lying on the bed receiving intravenous fluids.
The moment Jiang Yuan saw her, his eyes turned red and he threw himself on the bed, his voice still filled with tears: "You scared me to death!"
Cen Wan pulled the corners of her lips and smiled to comfort her: "I'm fine, right?"
Jiang Yuan looked at her and couldn't help but burst into tears.
"Is this okay? Can't you just hold me and cry? Sometimes I really wish you wouldn't be so stubborn."
Besides the few injuries the doctor mentioned, Cen Wan also had numerous scrapes and bruises. Despite these serious injuries, she never shed a single tear, not even a cry of pain.
Jiang Yuan was heartbroken.
The patient didn't cry, but she couldn't help crying for a long time, and Cen Wan had to comfort her instead.
Cen Wan took her hand and jokingly said, "Don't cry, even a desperate woman can drop golden beans."
Jiang Yuan wiped his tears and looked at her: "You don't know, when I saw those bloodstains, I was almost scared to death."
Cen Wan pursed her lips, her fingers clenching the corner of the quilt. Her face paled again, and she asked nervously, "Is Wu Anhao... still alive?"
"He's not dead. He's in the hospital. How did you meet him?"
Cen Wan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Although she was acting in self-defense, there were only two of them at the time. If they really wanted to investigate, the situation would be difficult to determine.
"I don't know how he got there. He suddenly appeared halfway." Cen Wan frowned, feeling that it was too much of a coincidence.
However, her decision to go into the mountains was a last-minute one, and no one else knew about it except Jiang Yuan.
Jiang Yuan gave her a sip of warm water, hesitated for two seconds, and then asked, "Are you... okay?"
Seeing her indescribable expression, Cen Wan realized what she was saying and shook her head.
"I just smashed him up. He didn't take advantage of me."
Cen Wan said it lightly, but it still makes me feel scared when I think about it.
Next, Wu Anhao would probably cause trouble for her. Or, the Wu family would go to Cen Baiqing to ask for an explanation.
She lowered her eyes, thinking that she would probably have no peace again.
Jiang Yuan finally felt relieved: "Fortunately, Mr. Shen is here, otherwise I don't know what to do."
She simply couldn't mobilize so many people and resources to look for her. If she found her later, it would be even more dangerous.
Hearing Jiang Yuan mention Chen Yixiao, Cen Wan's mind flashed with the figure running towards her before she fainted. She raised her eyes and looked towards the door.
Outside the door, Ji Yuanchen asked in confusion: "Brother Yi, why don't you go in?"
He had never seen Shen Yixiao so out of control and anxious. His trouser legs and shoes were covered in mountain mud, and his shirt was wrinkled. It was unlike him at all. But he had no time to pay attention and stayed at the hospital the whole time.
After everyone was finally safe and sound, he still refused to go in.
Ji Yuanchen didn't understand.
Shen Yixiao didn't look at him, and opened his thin lips slightly: "Tell Jiang Yuan to transfer her back to the city. I will ask Chen Yu to contact the hospital."
Ji Yuanchen nodded: "Okay."
"Where's that bastard?"
Shen Yixiao's black eyes were cold, and his face was like a thousand-year-old ice, full of coldness and hostility.
Ji Yuanchen's heart trembled, and he pointed to the other end: "It's also in this hospital."
