Chapter 417 Stop Making Trouble

Chapter 417 Stop Making Trouble

On the way back.

The night passed smoothly across the car body.

Through the glass window, I could see the inside of the car, depicting the sharp outline of his profile, the prominent Adam's apple, and the innate, hard-to-ignore sense of oppression.

It seems like it's very difficult to get along with.

She certainly thought so when they first met.

But now, we are getting along for the nth time.

This idea had long been thrown away so far that not even a trace of it could be found.

Fortunately, there are not many cars on this new expressway home.

Only then could she be distracted from time to time, her eyes drifting from the windshield to his face.

I always feel like I can never see enough.

For countless times, my eyes drifted towards him.

Gu Zhou glanced sideways without warning and caught her red-handed.

Light and shadow flashed across his eyes, as bright as obsidian: "What do you want to say?"

She curled her fingertips lightly, walked down the stairs, and brought up a topic: "I've been eating whole grain flour in the morning lately. Are you tired of it?"

Gu Zhou's lips curled up slightly, with a hint of lazy interest: "If you get tired of it, what are you going to treat me to?"

This was just a topic I came up with temporarily.

I didn't expect him to ask further questions.

She was slightly startled and thought seriously: "It depends on what Mr. Gu wants to eat. I heard that there is a new morning tea shop near our community. Do you want to try it?"

Gu Zhou did not respond, but stared at her deeply, the smile in his eyes deepened. The warm light flowing in the car made his deep eye sockets look particularly three-dimensional and softened his natural coldness.

Wang Yuanling was confused by his look and thought he didn't like it, so she tried again: "If you don't want to eat this, I can order soup noodles in the morning? That store is also near our community."

"What kind of soup noodles?"

"Just... pork soup noodles and beef soup noodles."

"Have you eaten it?"

"I've eaten it, and I think it tastes okay. You can try it."

They just chatted with each other in a meaningless manner.

The car drove smoothly past one streetlight after another, the darkness outside the window being constantly illuminated and then left behind. Warm yellow light intermittently passed through the car, illuminating the silhouettes of the two people whispering.

Seeing that Gu Zhou didn't reply, she was about to open her mouth to ask him what he wanted to eat if not the soup noodles.

Gu Zhou suddenly laughed softly.

She fell silent, not understanding why.

The laughter was low and magnetic, and seemed to have a real echo in the narrow compartment, gently brushing against the eardrum, with an indescribable sense of abrasion, making people's hearts tremble slightly.

Gu Zhou's pronunciation was lazily playful, his eyes fixed on her intensely: "Boss Ling."

"Hmm?" She said softly.

"What's for breakfast..." He deliberately dragged out the last word, leaning slightly towards her, and the intoxicating smell of alcohol wafted over.

He raised his eyebrows casually, his deep black eyes fixed on her, and said word by word, "It doesn't matter. What's important is that I eat with you."

Wang Yuanling's breath was choked.

She forced all her attention to the road ahead, keeping her voice calm, but her fluttering eyelashes ruined the calmness: "Mr. Gu, you're joking."

Gu Zhou curled his lips and said in a low voice: "I'm serious."

Wang Yuanling fell silent and didn't reply to him.

But just because she ignored it didn't mean Gu Zhou would do the same.

She still caught a glimpse of Gu Zhou's fiery gaze from the corner of her eye, which remained on her face.

Her spine stiffened unconsciously.

Finally, when the light turned green, she couldn't bear it any longer and turned around to meet his dark and smiling eyes: "Mr. Gu, is there something on my face?"

She was trying to express it in a very tactful way: There's nothing on my face, could you please stop staring at me?

Finally, Gu Zhou said lazily, "Yes."

Wang Yuanling immediately became nervous, and his first reaction was to stretch his neck to look in the rearview mirror.

I want to see if there is any dirt on my face.

But her reflection in the rearview mirror showed her with light makeup and nothing unusual.

She was confused.

Then he heard Gu Zhou's lazy smile, with a hint of joking: "A bit beautiful."

Wang Yuanling: “…”

She pursed her lips, looked at him, and said speechlessly: "Mr. Gu, you are drunk."

Gu Zhou shrugged casually and said, "Yeah, I'm drunk."

This is not convincing at all.

Even a little perfunctory.

Wang Yuanling was completely speechless and didn't know how to respond for a moment.

The car fell into a subtle silence, with only the low, regular hum of the engine and the occasional sound of wind passing by the window.

Wang Yuanling's fingers gripping the steering wheel tightened slightly, and his fingertips turned a little white.

She stared straight ahead at the road, trying to put the previous conversation and his burning gaze out of her mind, but she felt the heat on her cheeks lingering.

"Angry?"

"No." She answered quickly, but there was a barely perceptible tension in her voice.

"Then why don't you keep talking to me."

Wang Yuanling took a deep breath and patiently explained, "Mr. Gu, I'm driving. I need to focus on the road."

"What's so beautiful about the road?" He snorted, his voice low and hoarse: "Not as beautiful as you."

"Gu Zhou!" She couldn't help it.

I gave him a quick glance, or more accurately, a glare.

The light and shadow of the night passed through her watery and slightly annoyed eyes, making the smile between his eyebrows deepen, and he showed an undisguised, triumphant feeling: "Here."

After he finished speaking, the corners of his lips raised high, and he said slowly: "I like you calling my name."

Wang Yuanling's palms were sweaty as he gripped the steering wheel, his heartbeat was irregular, and his voice was trembling slightly as he tried to remain calm. "You are really drunk."

He didn't object: "Well, if you say you're drunk, then you're drunk."

Wang Yuanling was completely quiet.

Crazy, really crazy, he is like a peacock spreading its feathers.

She silently stepped on the accelerator, letting the louder roar of the engine drown out her pounding heartbeat.

Finally drove into the familiar underground garage.

Wang Yuanling parked the car steadily, turned off the engine, unbuckled his seat belt, and turned sideways to look at the passenger seat: "Mr. Gu, we're here. You can get out now."

Gu Zhou, however, slumped in his chair like a boneless man. He only lazily raised his eyelids, his eyes filled with lingering drunkenness and a hint of mischief. He slowly uttered a few words: "I'm drunk and can't get up."

The air in the car seemed to freeze in an instant.

The cold white light from the basement poured down from above, casting a half-bright, half-dark shadow on his chiseled face. His lazy and playful demeanor was completely different from his usual decisive and efficient image as Mr. Gu.

Wang Yuanling looked at him, speechless for a moment.

The light flowing in those deep eyes was clearly very sober, how could it look like he was really drunk and couldn't get up?

But his self-righteous and shameless attitude left her with no way to refute.

"Gu Zhou," she spoke again, omitting the word "always" this time, with a hint of resignation: "Stop making trouble, it's late."

"Why did I make trouble?" He asked calmly, his voice still lazy.

Wang Yuanling bit her lip lightly: "Aren't you just making trouble now?"

Gu Zhou chuckled softly, and the sound resonated in the closed carriage, resonating with her chest and making her heart numb. "Do you want to see what real trouble is?"

His dark eyes were as deep as a pool, staring at her without blinking, revealing an unknown risk.

Wang Yuanling's heart trembled when he saw it.
