Chapter 49: Zhang Che carried her on his back, his heartbeat went out of control

Yun Xiang was lost in thought when someone suddenly stood beside her. She looked up and saw Cheng Che looking at her.

Thinking that it was Cheng Che who carried her up, Yun Xiang felt inexplicably nervous. She took a step forward and was about to leave.

Cheng Che grabbed Yun Xiang's collar and pulled Yun Xiang back.

"What?" Yun wanted to ask him.

"Let's go out for dinner," he said.

Yun Xiang shook his head, "I'm not hungry."

But having said that, my stomach started to growl at a very inopportune moment.

Cheng Che narrowed his eyes and looked down along her face, "Hmm... aren't you hungry?"

Yun felt guilty, "I'm not hungry..." But as he finished speaking, his stomach rumbled again.

Yun Xiang's face turned red. What a damn disappointing stomach!

Cheng Che just stared at her, his narrow, beautiful eyes full of teasing. Yun wanted to admit that looking at those eyes, she couldn't lie anymore.

Yun thought: "Hungry."

"Let's go." He patted Yun Xiang's head, put his hands in his pockets and walked in front.

Yun Xiang quickly closed the door and followed him out. Cheng Che listened to the footsteps behind him and curled his lips.

"Will the shops on the street be open?" Yun Xiang was curious.

Cheng Che: "Yeah."

At the corner of the alley, a section of the road collapsed and was filled with deep water, blocking the way of the two people.

The water was deep enough to cover Yunxiang's calves, so the only way to get across was to wade.

Cheng Che bent down and rolled up his trouser legs very high.

Yun Xiang also knew that she had no choice but to wade through the water. So, she was about to bend down.

Cheng Che took off his shoes. He held the shoes in one hand and bent down in front of Yun Xiang. "Yun Xiang, come up."

Yun Xiang was stunned. "Huh?"

"Come up, I'll carry you over." He turned his head to look at her and said it again patiently.

"I... can do it on my own." Yun Xiang stuttered.

Cheng Che smacked his lips, looked Yun Xiang over, and coaxed him like a child, "Little Potato, be obedient and don't act so stubbornly."

Yun Xiang was upset, he called someone a little potato.

"Hurry up." Cheng Che gradually lost his patience.

Yun Xiang saw that he was still bending over, and felt embarrassed to be awkward anymore.

"Cheng Che, I'm a little heavy." Yun Xiang said as he lay on his back.

Cheng Che didn't say anything, but just carried her on his back and said, "If anyone says you're heavy, just beat him to death."

Yun Xiang is not heavy at all. Anyone who says Yun Xiang is heavy is trash.

Yun wanted to lie on Cheng Che's back. The water was difficult to walk on, but Cheng Che didn't shake at all and his center of gravity was very stable.

Thinking of how his father often carried him on his back when he was a child, Yun Xiang unconsciously hugged his neck with his arms.

Her arms were a little cold, but Cheng Che's heart suddenly felt hot. He paused noticeably, his face lowered to Yun Xiang's hair, and there was a pleasant scent of gardenia.

Shi Yunxiang leaned on his shoulder and whispered, "Cheng Che, thank you."

Cheng Che frowned, his throat a little dry, "Thank you for what?"

"Thank you for taking care of me." Yun wanted to look at his profile.

Cheng Che suddenly turned his head, and her lips were about to touch his face. Yun Xiang subconsciously shrank back.

Yun Xiang could clearly feel that his heartbeat was accelerating, and each beat was very powerful.

Cheng Che met Yun Xiang's gaze and felt the man's strong heartbeat on his back. He had no idea how hot Yun Xiang's ears were at that moment.

Cheng Che was really handsome, and his back made him feel safe. Yun Xiang had a thought that he shouldn't have had for a moment.

She lowered her head, not daring to think about anything. She could only use escape to resolve the inexplicable heartbeat she had just felt.

Cheng Che cleared his throat, looked ahead, and his breathing became inexplicably heavy.

After walking out of the collapsed road, Cheng Che put her down.

Neither of them spoke again until dinner time.

After Cheng Che finished his meal, he went to pay the bill. When he returned, the water level had decreased a lot, and it was just right to walk on the bricks next to him.

After Cheng Che took a shower, he went to the living room to rest.

Yun Xiang was in Cheng Che's room. She stared at the ceiling and couldn't fall asleep. All she could think about was the moment when Cheng Che suddenly turned his head when she was carrying him on her back.

Yun Xiang placed his fingertips on his lips, and his heartbeat became uncontrollable again.

She seemed to... kiss him.

Yunxiang turned over and quickly buried herself in the quilt. Her heart was in a mess and she couldn't sleep.

After a while, the quilt became too stuffy, and she suddenly sat up, her hair disheveled and her face expressionless.

Yun wanted to run to the balcony to get some fresh air, and his eyes caught sight of the bookcase.

There were many Polaroid photos in the bookcase, most of them of Cheng Che and Cantou. Cantou stuck his tongue out in every photo, grinning widely. There were also a few pictures of Cantou as a puppy, running around the house.

Thinking of Cantou's hardship these past few days, Yun Xiang felt a little guilty. Because of her arrival, Cantou no longer had freedom in his own home. From these photos, it can be seen that Cheng Che loved Cantou very much. Cantou was a part of his life.

Yun Xiang secretly decided that she would no longer be afraid of dogs.

Early in the morning, as soon as Yun Xiang opened her eyes, she saw Cantou lying in the nest looking at her.

Yun Xiang decisively cried out—Ah!!!

She never sets a goal again, she can’t do it!!!

Cheng Che nearly fell to the ground downstairs. He looked up and yelled, "What are you yelling about so early in the morning?!"

Can came running downstairs, yelling, "Woof!"

Cheng Che: “…”

Yun Xiang stood at the top of the stairs and whispered, "Where did it go?"

Cheng Che turned his head and saw Can Tou at the door, so he didn't dare to come in.

I don’t know whether Yunxiang scared the can or the can scared Yunxiang.

Cheng Che: "Safe."

Yun Xiang hurried downstairs and fled back to his room. His face was pale and he looked very scared.
