Chapter 96: Burning Hot, Yun Xiang Don’t Cry

It was already very late when Cheng Ya finished making the cake. She came out from the kitchen and put the packaged cake on the table.

"Xiao Che?" She came to Cheng Che and gently pushed Cheng Che's shoulder.

Cheng Che was sleeping soundly. He opened his eyes and looked at Cheng Ya, his brows furrowed and his body felt a little cold.

"Are you done?" he asked.

Cheng Ya knocked on the cake next to her.

"How much?" Cheng Che stood up, perhaps because his legs were weak or his body was weak, he subconsciously supported himself on the table.

Cheng Ya noticed his action and asked, "Are you okay?"

"No problem." He replied, then asked, "How much?"

"Why do you want money? I'll take you home." Cheng Ya sighed.

"No need, I'll go back by myself. Aunt, you should go to bed early." Cheng Che shook his head and reached out to pick up the coat that had already been dried next to him.

It's much warmer after putting on some clothes.

"I'll take you there, don't leave yet." When Cheng Ya went in to change clothes and turn off the lights, when she came out again, Cheng Che had already left.

Then the phone rang.

This is the money transferred by Cheng Che.

Cheng Ya shook her head helplessly, you little brat, you are so principled!

Since you are so principled, don’t come to her in the middle of the night to ask her to make a cake!

She accepted the money because she knew Cheng Che would not give up if she didn't accept it.

Cheng Ya: Send me a message when you get home. If you can’t finish the cake, put it in the refrigerator, as the pure animal cream will melt.

Cheng Che: Yeah.

After turning off his phone, Cheng Che found that Yun Xiang had sent him several messages.

Yun Xiang: Cheng Che, it’s raining, really heavily.

Yun Xiang: Cheng Che, I have something to tell you. When will you be home?

Cheng Che: I’ll be right back.

The door was pushed open, and Can Tou was seen running towards them. Someone had taken off the bite guard on his mouth, and he just wagged his tail at Cheng Che without barking.

As soon as Cheng Che changed his shoes, Cantou bit Cheng Che's trouser leg, as if intending to lead him somewhere.

Cheng Che was about to ask what was wrong when he saw Yun Xiang sleeping on the sofa.

She still held the phone in her hand, the screen was dimly lit, and on it was a dialog box with him, but there was a message that had not been sent.

Yun Xiang: Cheng Che, I didn’t wait for you to pick me up today.

Cheng Che's heart skipped a beat. He subconsciously frowned and murmured softly, "Idiot."

Cheng Che leaned down slightly, wanting to carry Yun Xiang back to the room. He didn't know if his movements were too rough or if Yun Xiang was just a light sleeper.

As soon as he touched her waist, Yun Xiang's eyelashes trembled, and Cheng Che watched her open her eyes.

The lights in the living room were dim, and Cheng Che blocked the faint light in front of her eyes.

Yun Xiang moved her lips and quickly stood up, almost bumping into Cheng Che's head.

Cheng Che pulled his hand back and took two steps back.

The two looked at each other, one with hot breath and the other with sleepy eyes.

"Cheng Che, your clothes..." Yun Xiang pointed at him from head to toe, "They're all wet."

Cheng Che picked up the cake on the coffee table and handed it to Yun Xiang. The boy spoke calmly but seriously, "Yun Xiang, raspberry cake."

The raspberry cake stands out in the transparent box.

The raspberries on top are bright red, and no matter how much color the mulberries add to them, they can't hide their redness.

Yun wanted to bite her lower lip and look up along his dripping sleeves. Cheng Che was wet all over.

Yun thought: "Are you...going to get me a cake in the rain?"

She knew raspberry cake was hard to come by.

In addition, Cheng Che didn't reply to his message all night, and now he was soaked all over.

It was hard for her not to think too much.

"Yeah." He didn't want to hide it.

Before Yun Xiang could say anything, he interrupted, "But getting wet in the rain has nothing to do with you. I didn't bring an umbrella and didn't want to buy one, so I got wet. Yun Xiang, none of this matters. Just remember that I bought you a cake."

——But getting wet in the rain has nothing to do with you. It was my own fault that I didn’t bring an umbrella and didn’t want to buy one, so I got wet in the rain.

——Yun Xiang, this is not important. Just remember that I bought you a cake.

Cheng Che's words made Yun Xiang's eyes redden. "You're buying a cake in the rain, aren't you stupid? It's already one o'clock in the morning!"

Cheng Che pursed his lips, his throat feeling dry. His head was groggy, but he still bent down, his hands on his knees, looked at her seriously, and said gently, "As long as you're happy, I'll buy it at two o'clock, at three o'clock, or at any time."

—As long as you’re happy, I’ll buy it for you at 2 o’clock, 3 o’clock, or any time.

Yun Xiang frowned, and tears fell from the corners of his eyes.

She admitted that she was a failure and that the slightest bit of care would make her want to cry.

My father said that girls shouldn’t cry all the time, or they will become less precious.

But when you meet someone sincere, it’s hard not to cry.

When Cheng Che saw her crying, his heart tightened.

He quickly put the raspberry cake down. Then he raised his hand, his fingertips touching her face to gently wipe away her tears, his narrow, beautiful eyes meeting hers. Cheng Che's throat moved up and down, his thin lips parted, and he spoke in a low, pleasant voice, "Yun Xiang, don't cry."

Yun Xiang nodded gently, but hot tears still fell on the back of his hand.

Cheng Che glanced into her eyes and called softly, "Yun Xiang."

Yun thought: "Hmm."

Cheng Che curled up the corners of his mouth and said softly, "Don't talk. Just give me a hug, okay?"

Yun Xiang was a little surprised.

Before she could agree, Cheng Che pressed his entire weight over her and hugged her.

He was clearly wet, but through his clothes, she felt like he was hot all over.

Yun wanted to look up, but he was holding her in his arms, his face buried in her neck. The room was quiet, with only the sound of raindrops outside the window.
