Chapter 18 Give Me a Chance to Pursue You
Zhou Zheng withdrew his hand without knowing why, scratched his head, turned around and walked out, sitting at the dining table and waiting anxiously.
After a while, Lu Fangchi came out of the bedroom. He changed into a white shirt and wore a pair of light-colored jeans. He walked lazily to the dining table and sat down. With a lukewarm face, he picked up the coffee, took a sip, put it down, and started eating the bagel again.
Zhou Zheng's gaze fell on the part of his shirt that was rolled up and exposed. The curve of his wrist bone was smooth, and the small brown mole underneath it caught his eye. The red color that complemented the wrist was gone.
Lu Fang was eating at the pool with a carefree expression, but in fact, his scalp was tingling from the gaze of Zhou Zheng opposite him. He ate the bagel as if it were wax, and chewed it for more than ten times without realizing it. At the end, he almost vomited the taste.
Lu Fangchi swallowed it with great effort, then quickly picked up the coffee and took a sip to suppress the feeling.
Just a second later, Zhou Zheng spoke up: "Don't you like that bracelet?"
Suddenly, Lu Fangchi choked on the coffee and started coughing. He reached out to get some paper, but Zhou Zheng got it first and handed it to him. Lu Fangchi paused for a second but still took it and wiped his mouth, his eyes still fixed on him.
Lu Fangchi lowered his eyes and didn't look Zhou Zheng in the eye, saying vaguely: "It's not suitable for me."
Zhou Zheng nodded to show that he understood, and then asked, "Did you hear what I said last night?"
Lu Fangchi's brows wrinkled slightly, and he sighed in his heart. This is a tacit understanding among adults, so why doesn't Zhou Zheng understand it?
He raised his head and met the alpha's stubborn gaze. Just as he was about to find an excuse to fool him, he heard him say, "If you didn't hear me, I can say it again."
The alpha looked serious, with so much sincerity in his eyes that it seemed to be overflowing.
Well, I really can't handle it. Lu Fangchi pursed his lips, his brows furrowed, and he tapped on the dining table with his slender fingers, his rhythm fast and impatient.
He hesitated several times before finally saying three words: "I heard it."
Zhou Zheng nodded again, his eyes shining, and he insisted on getting a statement from Lu Fangchi, refusing to give in.
Lu Fangchi had never encountered such a situation before, and was almost forced into a desperate situation. There was nothing he could say, and he had to give a real answer.
Well, "You have lost your memory now and don't remember it. Actually, our relationship before was very bad, even worse than strangers, more like enemies." Lu Fangchi said.
So when Zhou Zheng suddenly said "like", it was like a horror story.
Alpha blinked, thought for a few seconds and asked: "So you hate me?"
"Not really." Lu Fangchi denied.
Zhou Zheng rubbed his fingertips along his chin and concluded, "That was before I lost my memory. I really 'hated' you. Every time I saw you, you would get angry, so our relationship was very bad."
It seems that he has a clear understanding of himself. Lu Fangchi nodded, "About the same."
Zhou Zheng's peach blossom eyes drooped, and his chubby lips pursed into a very aggrieved arc, complaining in a low voice: "What he did has nothing to do with me. He doesn't know what's good for him, but this is very unfair to me."
Lu Fangchi was stunned for a moment, and was so shocked by Zhou Zheng's logic that he couldn't utter a word for a long time.
"Or do you want to reconcile with your ex?" Zhou Zheng changed the subject quickly.
What's going on? "That's not true." Lu Fangchi said firmly. He never goes back on his word.
"So do you mind that I'm an alpha?" Zhou Zheng asked himself, "But you said it doesn't matter. So you just hate me, right?"
After the alpha finished speaking, he wilted visibly, his lips turned down, his shoulders slumped, and he looked very aggrieved.
To be honest, Lu Fangchi has no opinion on Zhou Zheng now. As a friend, he even has a good impression of him. Seeing this, he explained: "I don't hate him, it's just that..."
Zhou Zheng interrupted Lu Fangchi's second half of the sentence and said, "I don't ask you to like me either. Can you give me a chance to pursue you?" He lowered his posture to the lowest level, with pleading in his eyes.
The more he talked, the more confusing it became. Lu Fangchi's temples swelled up from Zhou Zheng's recitation. He stretched out his hand and pinched his brows, but did not immediately agree: "Let me think about it."
-
When things developed to this point, Lu Fangchi regretted for a moment that he had asked Zhou Zheng to help him, because this meant that they would have to stay together for almost 24 hours a day, with no personal breathing space.
Before, there was nothing else, and Lu Fangchi thought it was acceptable. Now the other party was ripping the window paper to pieces, and he could no longer keep in the dark, and the situation became awkward and uncomfortable.
After turning off the engine and getting out of the car, Lu Fangchi tried his best to ignore the hot and sticky gaze and walked towards the elevator.
Zhou Zheng got out of the car in a hurry and followed Lu Fangchi like a clingy little tail.
As they stepped into the elevator, a figure suddenly rushed out of the door and blocked their way. "I finally caught you."
After a closer look, it was Assistant Liu who raised his hand to stop him. He looked much more haggard than the last time, with dark circles under his eyes and his hair much longer and untidy. He pushed the frame of his glasses with his hand and chattered to Zhou Zheng: "I didn't believe it when other employees said they saw you in the underground garage a few days ago. You didn't reply to my messages and didn't answer my calls. Today, I finally caught you. I heard that you went to the Lu headquarters to help?" Assistant Liu's eyes fell on Lu Fangchi beside him when he said this.
There were only two office buildings, one square and one regular. They were close to each other and all of them were from the same industry, so rumors spread quickly and could not be kept secret.
Lu Fangchi nodded and admitted: "I asked him to help for a few days."
Upon hearing this, Assistant Liu immediately reached out to pull Zhou Zheng's sleeve, with hope on his face, "Come back to work soon when you're better. I've been so busy lately that I'm dying!"
Zhou Zheng raised his hand and used his other hand to pull down Liu Zhu's claws, righteously refusing: "I'm not well, I can't remember anything, and I can't go to work."
"Then how can you help Mr. Lu? If you can't remember, as long as your brain is not damaged, I don't care. You have to come back to work, otherwise I will quit!" There was a sense of madness in Liu Zhu's words.
Lu Fangchi listened from the side and thought that this was a way to ease the situation. Firstly, judging from Assistant Liu's appearance, the company was probably very busy, and as the founder, Zhou Zheng should go back and lend a hand. Secondly, it could also create some space and distance, and they should all calm down and think carefully.
"If you are so busy, just go back to work." Lu Fangchi advised.
Upon hearing this, Liu Zhu nodded vigorously, his eyes fixed on Zhou Zheng.
Although he could refute Liu Zhu's words, Zhou Zheng had to listen to Lu Fangchi's words. He looked up at the young man reluctantly and said reluctantly, "Okay."
Liu Zhu was overjoyed, and was ready to leave, fearing that he would change his mind at the last minute.
Zhou Zheng stopped walking and looked to the side, "I want to talk to Xiaochi."
Assistant Liu was very tactful and walked out of the elevator to avoid it.
Zhou Zheng lowered his head and asked in a low voice: "Can we still go home together after get off work tonight?"
Lu Fangchi understood his implication and said, "Okay."
