Chapter 7 Respect and Love
"Really?" The alpha asked, tilting his head, a light flickering in his eyes, and the puppy tail hanging behind his back suddenly stood up and swayed rapidly.
Lu Fangchi was surprised at how quickly Zhou Zheng's expression changed, but he nodded in affirmation.
Zhou Zheng couldn't suppress the curve of his mouth, his eyes and eyebrows were full of joy, but he still had to confirm repeatedly: "Give me a definite answer."
Lu Fangchi responded to every request and said, "Yes, really, I'll go when you get better."
"I remember." Zhou Zheng poked his heart with his finger. This was not enough. He had to make a pinky promise to deceive people. He was a puppy.
Lu Fangchi was helpless, but he cooperated and hooked his move with him.
Zhou Zheng's mood changed from cloudy to sunny. He turned his head toward the window and whistled a light and lively tune. After a while, the sound gradually became lighter until it was completely quiet.
Emotions come and go quickly, and perhaps the sudden emotional fluctuations even consumed his energy. By the time he arrived at the hospital parking lot, Zhou Zheng had fallen asleep with his eyes closed.
Lu Fangchi reached out and patted Zhou Zheng's shoulder: "We're here."
Zhou Zheng didn't react and his eyes remained closed.
"Wake up, we're at the hospital." Lu Fangchi increased the strength of his hands.
Zhou Zheng still didn't close his eyes and was almost motionless.
Lu Fangchi frowned slightly, stretched out his hand and shook the alpha's arm vigorously for a few times, and then patted the other's face gently: "Zhou Zheng, wake up."
Zhou Zhengnong's brows were furrowed, and he snorted, with the hot air coming out of his nose boiling everywhere.
The handsome face was visibly getting redder and redder, and the heat in his body continued. It looked like he was delirious from the fever.
There was no other choice, Lu Fangchi got out of the car and went around to the co-pilot's seat. He held Zhou Zheng's arm with his right hand, supported his strong waist with his left hand, half-carried him out of the car, and kicked the door shut with his foot.
This action finally woke Zhou Zheng up. He half-opened his eyes, his eye circles were red, and he groaned, "It hurts." His voice was weak.
"Well, we're at the hospital now. You'll be fine after seeing the doctor," Lu Fang asked while soothing her by the pool. "When you wake up, just use a little strength. It's too heavy."
Although Lu Fangchi is an alpha, it is still a bit difficult for him to face an adult alpha of the same attribute, with a strong body and a few centimeters taller than him.
"Oh." Zhou Zheng nodded slightly.
He tried his best to walk on his own, but he couldn't help feeling dizzy, which was even worse than when he just left home. The ground beneath his feet was not flat, but a soft, weightless cotton ball, and he could fall at any time. In the end, he leaned most of his body on Lu Fangchi and was carried into the clinic by him.
The hospital was large and busy, with people of all kinds queuing up and waiting. The chairs on the side were filled with patients, leaving no room for Zhou Zheng.
Lu Fangchi could only continue to carry him back and forth to register and pay the fees. Although it was winter, large beads of sweat slid down from his temples to his chin.
The most uncomfortable thing was that Zhou Zheng was leaning on his neck, and the hot air from his nose hit his exposed skin. It was so itchy that it made his scalp numb.
Lu Fangchi pursed his lips, waiting for the payment a little impatiently. While enduring the itching, he felt the temperature of Zhou Zheng's body rise to another level.
It was already 40 degrees at home. If it gets too hot, my brain will be damaged. Lu Fangchi frowned slightly and pinched Zhou Zheng's hot earlobe. "Don't sleep. You can't sleep."
Zhou Zheng said nothing, but his breathing became more rapid.
"Zhou Zheng, answer me." Lu Fangchi pinched his face again.
"Hmm." Zhou Zheng snorted and buried his face in Lu Fangchi's neck, trying to avoid the harassment of the young man's hand.
"Don't sleep, hold on a little longer, it's almost time." Lu Fangchi coaxed her, but it was also the truth, there was another one coming.
As long as there is a queue, no matter where it is, there will inevitably be queue-jumping. Near the payment window, there was a gap in the fence that allowed one person to squeeze in. This was the space that allowed someone to squeeze in. An old lady with a staggering gait slowly moved in and cut in front of Lu Fangchi in a very dominant manner.
Lu Fangchi wanted to say something, but when he saw the old lady's hunched back that could only look at the ground and her graying hair, he held back.
Because of her limited mobility, she is naturally slow in paying. Even with the help of volunteers, the old lady still spends several times more time than a normal person.
Her hearing was not good, so she repeatedly confirmed with the volunteers and the cashier. She responded slowly and then took out her wallet with trembling hands to find the change. The coins accidentally rolled to the ground, making a crisp "ding-dong" sound.
The team's lack of movement caused the crowd behind them to wonder, "Why is the front line not moving?"
"I don't know. Several members of other teams have already left."
"Can you hurry up?"
Complaints were heard one after another.
Although Lu Fangchi did not urge her out loud, he hoped in his heart that the old lady could be a little faster. His patience and physical strength were almost exhausted.
After more than ten minutes, the old lady finally paid the fee and left slowly.
As soon as one person cut in line, two more people would come. An old lady who had been waiting behind the old lady for a long time pulled her two chubby children and obviously leaned inwards, taking advantage of the tiny gap to squeeze in.
The two chubby kids were estimated to be six or seven years old. Both boys were very naughty. They pushed and shoved in the crowded line, hitting each other. Their fat bodies bumped into other people in the line from time to time. The aunt was busy flipping through the medical records and did not say a word to discipline them.
If this had happened under normal circumstances, Lu Fangchi might have let it go. He was not good at arguing with others, nor did he like to waste his breath. If there was no time for quarreling, he might have just stopped.
But the previous old lady wasted too much time, this old lady also seemed to be an unknown factor, and there were people behind her who were eyeing to intervene.
He didn't want to give in, and Zhou Zheng's condition could not be delayed.
"Ma'am, you cut in line." Lu Fangchi reached out and patted her shoulder to remind her.
The old lady didn't expect to be exposed so bluntly for cutting in line. She looked a little embarrassed and tried to negotiate in a friendly way: "Young man, you see, it's not easy for me to take care of two children. I'm old too. The line is really too long. Please let me, an old woman, take the first position!"
"My friend is almost fainting from the fever." Lu Fangchi remained firm and did not give in.
The rejected mother suddenly changed her expression and started yelling: "Look everyone, these two guys are so old, tall and strong, they are both alphas, bullying me, an omega with a child." While speaking, she waved her arms, trying to draw everyone's attention to this place.
The old lady's voice was sharp and penetrating, and it had a certain influence even in the noisy hospital lobby. In addition, two chubby kids suddenly started to sit on the ground, rolling around and yelling that they didn't want to queue. The crowd farther behind them didn't understand why, and after hearing her words, they began to persuade them, "Young man, look, the old lady is with two kids, just make way."
Lu Fangchi explained: "My friend is very feverish and can't wait."
"Why can't you wait? I think your friend is fine. No matter how bad he feels, he is still an adult alpha. Isn't he stronger than a child?"
"That's right, Alpha is so hypocritical? Don't you know how to respect B and love O?"
It's unbelievable that everyone is so unreasonable.
The situation is getting worse and worse. "Just give way. We are willing to wait!"
"That's right. If he doesn't want to, forget it. Let this mother-in-law wait behind him. Anyway, we are all willing to wait. It won't hurt to wait for a while. Why rush to reincarnate?"
A mouthful of spit from one person can drown a person. Fortunately, Lu Fangchi is an alpha with a strong inner core. Although he doesn't like to argue with others, he is not a soft persimmon.
He really ignored everyone's moral kidnapping and went to the window to pay the bill, bypassing the old lady.
This action caused the crowd to sigh. Some people murmured among themselves, while others directly said sarcastically: "Tsk, some people really have no empathy. Everyone will get old one day. Try to be treated like this in the future!"
"Young people nowadays really cannot tolerate even the slightest loss."
"He looks like a decent person, but he has no conscience at all."
"What kind of upbringing is this? Don't you know how to respect and love others? I guess you are just another person who was born by a mother but never raised by her!"
Lu Fangchi looked straight ahead with a blank expression, as if these critical words had nothing to do with him. But Zhou Zheng, who was leaning on him, couldn't stand it. He suddenly opened his red eyes, stood up straight and stood in front of Lu Fangchi. The 1.9-meter tall man stood out among the crowd.
"I was born by a mother but not raised by her, but I grew up on my own and I know that a person should be well-mannered and queue-jumping is the most shameful thing." Zhou Zheng's voice was sonorous and powerful, like a huge rock, making everyone shut up and the surroundings became a little quieter.
A crack appeared in the cold mask on the young man's face. He looked up at the broad shoulders of the alpha in front of him, and an inexplicable emotion flashed in his eyes.
Before the crowd could react, Lu Fangchi pulled Zhou Zheng away from this troubled place.
Even after they had walked away, Zhou Zheng was still angry, his brows were furrowed, and his eyes seemed to be spitting fire. He finally looked a bit like the arrogant man he was before he lost his memory.
Just as they passed by a vending machine, Lu Fangchi bought a bottle of mineral water and handed it to Zhou Zheng: "Drink some water to moisten your throat."
Zhou Zheng took the water and squeezed it but it didn't work. This was simply a blow to the alpha's self-esteem!
He wanted to pretend that nothing happened, but suddenly he saw Lu Fangchi laughing beside him.
It is embarrassing to be laughed at, but Lu Fangchi’s smile is really beautiful.
Lu Fangchi usually has very few expressions, always indifferent, but it turns out that this is what he looks like when he really smiles. His cold face and eyes bend like crescent moons, and even when he purses his lips to smile, it's like a glacier melting, like a rainbow after the rain, full of healing feeling.
That……
Laugh when you are laughed at.
Zhou Zheng was completely defeated. “I can’t open it. I don’t have the strength.” He handed the bottle of mineral water back dejectedly.
Lu Fangchi's smile was fleeting. Without blinking, he turned back into that flower in the mountains, unscrewed the bottle cap and handed it back: "Do you remember?"
"Huh?" Zhou Zheng was stunned for a moment before he responded, "She gave birth to me but she didn't raise me?"
There was a slight chill in Lu Fangchi's eyes, but he soon returned to normal and said "hmm".
"I don't remember. Assistant Liu told me." Zhou Zheng replied nonchalantly and raised his head to take a sip of water.
"Let the noise be, I will take care of myself. Don't get angry at insignificant people, and don't show your weaknesses at will." Lu Fangchi's expression suddenly became serious, even a little fierce.
It was so intimidating that Zhou Zheng stood up straight for no reason, rubbed his nose with his fingers, and whispered in defense: "It's the truth anyway, and I don't care..."
"It's good that you don't care, but there's no need to expose your scars and allow others to hurt you." Lu Fangchi became more serious.
Zhou Zheng didn't quite understand Lu Fangchi's attitude in scolding him, and even felt a little aggrieved. Wasn't he saying those words to protect him? Was it necessary to be so fierce?
Zhou Zheng was indignant, but he didn't dare to talk back. He just said "hmm" with a shy look on his face.
Seeing Zhou Zheng pursed his lips, Lu Fangchi finally realized that he had unconsciously said something too harsh. After a pause, he changed the subject: "Thank you for what I said just now."
Lu Fangchi's soft tone made Zhou Zheng feel like a deflated balloon. The dizziness came over him again. He took a step forward and leaned his head on Lu Fangchi's shoulder, mumbling, "Dizziness."
Lu Fangchi looked up at the call screen and saw that Zhou Zheng was the next one to come. "Please bear with me. It will be your turn soon."
Zhou Zheng's muffled voice came to my ears: "Do you think I was embarrassed just now?"
Lu Fangchi was surprised to hear such a statement: "Why do you have such an idea?"
"You didn't say anything, but I got angry." Zhou Zheng only said half of the sentence. Compared with your calm and composed look just now, I looked really ugly when I was arguing with others with a glare on my face.
Lu Fangchi didn't reply, and Zhou Zheng said to himself, "I'll know next time and won't argue anymore."
Lu Fangchi blinked, thought for a moment before he understood, and patted Zhou Zheng on the shoulder: "Don't think too much, I just don't like you to belittle yourself."
He didn't say it clearly, but Zhou Zheng probably understood it. He rubbed his face against Lu Fangchi's shoulder again and again, wanting to bite him to express his joy at the moment. He wanted to show off, but he restrained himself and whispered, "I'll know next time."
